When I say "too much Fiat" I don't mean the physical appearance. I meant with all the luxury options... this is a Jeep not an Audi.

Too much Fiat, I'll pass...

That or get some replacement sockets from the parts store and wire those in. Pretty common issue for our old junk.

Bench Seat Question
onlyinajeep726 replied to mopar.stevo's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Been there twice, actually. Back in '96 and again in '99, IIRC. I was too young to remember much of it though. But from what I do remember, it was really nice and people were quite friendly overall. -

Bench Seat Question
onlyinajeep726 replied to mopar.stevo's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Looking for a bench seat in fair condition? I'm about to swap mine to buckets. May be persuaded into selling the bench. :brows: -

I'll be on channel 1 on the CB, but can't guarantee I'll hear much past 50ft out since my junk don't work too well. You can text me, but again, no guarantees I'll have signal the whole time. (I'll PM you my number). I hope you can make it out Saturday by some miracle.- 11 replies

That contraption I got hooked to the CCV breather? It's just some screw-on style PVC ends with plastic elbows inserted on each end. Inside, I have mesh (a scouring pad or brillo pad/steel wool) stuffed inside, and on the top side elbow, I have a small air filter attached. This is the writeup I went by: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/i-made-_____-my-yj-post-your-homemade-jeep-stuff-here-457361/index6.html#post5039835 This is a better picture of mine. I don't have it in place anymore because I've done an engine swap since then... Every so often, I had to drain the oil back down in to the valve cover because it would like to collect inside and in the lower elbow (which was the point).

Good tip, sir. I was actually wondering what material it should be made of. I'm running Royal Purple Max EZ fluid and I don't want to leak that stuff. Too expensive to waste.

Another Bench To Bucket Seat Thread.
onlyinajeep726 replied to onlyinajeep726's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Went back out to the garage for a bit and drilled out the correct rivets... Thought removing the XJ brackets would be easy after that, but quickly found out the hard way. Apparently these things are also spot welded to the sliders. Took a rubber mallet and got a few good swings in to knock them off. -

Yea, that will be convenient, especially if/when I do find 2-door seats... -

Addco Bars On Heavy Ton
onlyinajeep726 replied to Bobolink's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The ADDCO rear bar was designed for the SWB MJs. It won't work on LWB MJs without modification. Shocks mount backside of axle on SWB models and frontside of axle on LWB models. hornbrod (Don) pieced together a kit for the LWB MJs using junkyard parts. There's a thread about it. Edit: Here it is, http://comancheclub.com/topic/42643-comanche-rear-sway-bar-long-box/ -
I know this has been beaten to death, especially here on CC, but I'm still unclear on something. I have the curved rail, 4-door XJ seats (have not been able to find 2-door straight railed to save my life). I'm only 5'11" (6'0" when I'm bragging), so head room shouldn't be an issue. Maybe I'm stupid or just over thinking this, but what part of the XJ seats do I need to remove and what part do I keep? I haven't taken the MJ bench out since I bed lined the floors. I started hacking away at the XJ seats and I think I'm cutting off the wrong rivets/studs. So... look at these two edited photos and tell enlighten me.

Slight Wobble After Lift
onlyinajeep726 replied to Cmbechtold's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Those don't look like blocks... just the spring perches. Though they do look a little thick from the picture. Pictures add 10 lbs, right? But as advised, fix the angle of your rear diff for starters. The front looks off too, as mentioned. Also, something I didn't see mentioned was your harsh steering geometry. With the stock inverted y-steering and 4.5"+ of lift, those angles are considerably more stressful on everything. If you wish to keep the stock steering, I'd advice a drop pit man arm as a must. -

Dash Dismantle Headaches
onlyinajeep726 replied to Sir Jacob the 2nd's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yea, it won't hurt anything. The compressor clutch isn't engaged until it's switched on, and even then, with no freon in the system, it shouldn't be able to come on anyway.
