  1. Thanks Kevin  Well Pete, most people will cringe when they hear; that I just dropped it off to get it lowered a few inches. But yes, I’ve also ordered some OEM fender flares and body side molding. Wider tires and some black powder coating for the wheels are also on the menu. :D
  2. I also had a second generation Dakota and liked it - but like all new rigs, it got worn down.
  3. Thanks for the link! Sure glad i didn't spend the $44.95 for that over promoted hype.
  4. This is what I just drove home - it matched my needs…
  5. Thanks  I knew you had some class, as you're the only other CC member that's an original and present owner of a 1990 MJ.
  6. It does look good, but it sure had issues. I just couldn't justify spending money on the old rig to fix all the problems...
  7. Ok I know this is a project thread, but … Just updated my DD to this: Parting shot of my old '99 as i left the lot. :(
  8. Look at what arrived today! This is what i'm talking about:
  9. :needpics:
  10. Nice job on considering a dog from your local shelter! Having been the spokesperson for the largest shelter in Washington State for many years, I understand the conundrum. Dogs and cats being euthanized every day and willing folks ready to take them home. Unfortunately every shelter has experienced a high return rate for unsuitable matches. Some staffers and volunteers get overly protective & righteous and simply overlook a reasonable balance. I can tell you it’s a difficult job and mistakes are made every day. :(
  11. very nice
  12. Nice. I like the way ya ran the break lines through the frame. Why didn’t you finish painting the crank – too shiny…
  13. was it easy?
  14. cool, but the tech section + search found here on this site, seems to work well for me. When it doesn't, the CC members fill in the voids...
  15. Said it once, I'll say it again. That bumper ROCKS. Rob L. X 2:bowdown:        Need more info on it! It's stuffed with a Warn 9,000 lb winch and the lights are a glass cover fitted into a rubber casing – never need to worry about them rusting! Same ones you see on most semi trucks… Their wired to come on when in reverse or by the switch. Said it once, I'll say it again. That bumper ROCKS. Rob L. I agree, who made that bumper? Edit: sorry for all the hi jacking. I wish i could take the credit, but can't... Chris Hoover @ Strongweld.com (Lakewood, WA) does quality work! He's going to be making me some rock rails soon. I'll be sure to post them on my build thread...
  16. cool story
  17. Someone getting paranoid? :chillin:
  18. What makes it stronger than the D44 gears; gears, axle housing, shafts...?
  19. Bold choice  Look forward in hearing more about it’s street & trail performance, after you log some more miles.
  20. Cool badge, never actually seen one until now
  21. I think a "92 4.0L Standard 4X4." is a good starting platform, but i'd also add the short box.
  22. Agreed. I know there's a big traditionalist camp out there that still believes "real Jeeps have round headlights" But the rest of the MJ/XJ is too square & angular to make it look right, IMO. :agree:
  23. When I re-licensed it last year, I convinced the lady behind the counter, that its value was $100. I guess she didn’t have access to (or was too lazy to look) at any reference material.
