  1. Did the pilot know there was no insurance one it? Did he have permission to take the plane for a spin? I don't need insurance on a vehicle I have in storage on my property. If something happens to it while stored my home owner's insurance covers it. If somebody takes it for a spin without my permission (read: steal it, whether they plan to bring it back or not), they are responsible for what happens to it regardless of insurance. And I don't give anybody permission to drive a vehicle of mine if it had no insurance on it.
  2. Old seal does not need to be pulled.
  3. New addition as of yesterday: Rear Aussie locker. Yes, boys and girls, she's now locked front AND rear!
  4. I ordered a set from their web site a little over a year ago and was happy with the service as well as the injectors themselves. Can't remember how long it took to get them, though.
  5. Some people cont the lock up torque converter as a gear.
  6. The 8.25 will fit, kinda. It is the same width and the brakes are plug and play. The perches and shock mounts need to be cut off (easy to do with an angle grinder) and new perches welded on. I believe your u bolt plates can handle a 3" axle, but will have to check to say for sure. The nose of an 8.25" is an inch longer than a D35, so your driveshaft *may* need to be shortened a bit.
  7. Probably doesn't know his stuff as he called the front axle a D35.
  8. Shocks: On a Comanche, the shock mounts are integrated into the u bolt plates. This way they can be both pointed forward (long bed) or rearward (short bed) by switching the plates left to right) On a Cherokee the shock mounts are welded to the axle tube, one facing forward, the other backward, and both at the wrong place between the diff end the wheel. Springs: Cherokee is SOA, Comanche is SUA. Stock Cherokee axle can not be used as is to go SOA on a Comanche because the perches are spaced the wrong distance apart. U bolt plates: D35 has 2 5/8" axle tubes, I believe D44 is 2 3/4", 8.25" is 3". The U bolt plates may or may not work. If you are going SOA, cut the perches and shock mounts off the 8.25" and have new ones welded on. If you weld shock mounts to the axle and don't need them on the u bolt plates, you can use stock Cherokee plates for the new axle. Don't forget new u bolts and nuts. I myself used anti wrap perches and shock mounts from RuffStuff Specialties, Cherokee u bolts plates and made to order u bolts from a local shop (Dover Brake in Strasburg, OH). They make u bolts to your specs while you wait. Usually ~5 minutes.
  9. About three feet. I'm putting mine in the cowl in front of the windshield. Still don't know where the display is going, though. I wanted to put it below the clock, but the clock circuitry is in the way.
  10. First one is showing Fahrenheit. Two more to go.
  11. Order three or more and you qualify for bulk shipping. That drops the price down to $2.33, but there's a $1.70 tracking fee. Save me a penny :brows: They tried to deliver Thursday, but I wasn't home. Didn't make it to the post office before they closed yesterday, so I just now finally picked them up. The display Celsius only. There's no switch to show Fahrenheit :(

    Insurance

I pay $75 per month for three vehicles, 0 deductible comprehensive on all of them. (I go through pretty much a windshield a year).
  14. Hey, I'm not the only one wheeling a long bed!
  15. NOS (Napa Oil Seal) 11771.
  16. Don't know where the top of the blue mark is, but the temp going up and down is probably the thermostat opening and closing.
  17. Ordered an Aussie for the rear axle. Supposed to be here day after tomorrow
  18. So we're set for July 23-24?
  19. Mine is a sport with cruise, power windows and locks, full cluster with tach, but NO rear window defrost.
  20. Because your truck is an 88. The AX15 didn't appear in the MJ until the middle of 89.
  21. My 97 is the same way! As for wanting power windows in a 97+ XJ, get ready for the switches to go bad on you. My First 97 XJ was that way. No problem whatsoever with the switches on my 96 with 183,000 miles. Lock solenoids on the rear doors are starting to stick, though. Will lock, but not always unlock.

  23. Seriously, 3? I got three Jeeps... Came out to $8.69 total shipped to my door.
  24. Thanks for the heads-up. Just ordered 3 of them.
  25. No absolutely positive, but believe it's 1/8" NPT.
