Just a nit pick here, but it sounds more like the clutch is not DISengaging. Agree with ^^^^ that it's most likely a hydraulic problem. Hydraulic clutch should not need to be bled unless work has been done on the clutch. Leak or bad cylinder (master or slave) is most likely.

Swapping the nicer Pioneer/Chief door panels with the hockeystick handles and map pockets to the Purple People Eater and the base model ones from it to the trail pig (both black interior) I noticed they both had a production date of November 1986. So I checked the last 6 digits of the VIN (serial number) The Pig: 077783 The Purple People Eater: 077772 My trucks came out of the factory only 11 apart!

I use 3/8 pins center pins with the head ground downa bit to fit the perches, but I believe factory are 9 or 10mm (metric).

6'5" here. Steering wheel is a bit closer to my chest than I like, but as far as leg room and head room I fit fine in 87 bucket seats in my MJ, and 96 4 door Cherokee seats in my Cherokee. However ZJ seats mounted on wood blocks in my other MJ put my head almost on the headliner.

The Purple People Eater came without the cover, but still has all the snaps and the front mounting rail for one.

There is not much movement of the yoke with spring articulation, but axle wrap forcing the pinion up makes a HUGE difference and will cause it to bottom out. Especially if you're SOA.

It may be enough, but I doubt it. I would shorten the shaft about an inch.

260 upgrade to 297 U Joints....?
mvusse replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, so are ZJ shafts with the u joints, and even ZJ CV shafts will swap right in. On ABS shafts the tone ring may interfere with unit bearings (depending on year unit bearing), but a few good hits with a hammer will knock that ring right off and then it will fit. -
/\ Wife left me before I bought my first Comanche > After building up and wheeling my MJ for a few years it looks like crud. So I got another one to keep stock and on pavement at all times. \/ How many Jeep related forums are you on?

Canada to US is easy as there is no duty (NAFTA). US to Canada has to go through customs. That can take a while, assuming they don't lose them.

PS Front axle seal on a d30
mvusse replied to Car RamRod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is this a front axle with the vacuum disconnect? If so it goes in and out through the disconnect opening. -
What's with people thinking black is rare? I have only ever owned two Comanches (actually, still have both), and both have factory black interior.

Dash CLOCK,how to rest,I dont know
mvusse replied to 88AMComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have had the battery disconnected for 20 minutes swapping alternators. Afterwards the factory dash clock was 20 minutes slow. No, this was NOT 20 minutes past noon 8) -
Off a ZJ, so C clip D35. As Geonovast already posted, the non C clip ones are different.

I did. Mind you, the towels did their job. The part of the wall that scared me did not damage the body anywhere. Mind you, 30 feet later my spotter put my entire driver side into the wall anyway. Pushed my door in so far the window (which was open, or inside the door) exploded with pieces of glass shooting up out of the slit for the window. No, he never spotted for me after that. Now that the body is that badly messed up, any more dents just blend in.

Drove 85 miles round trip for what I was assured was an AX5 out of a 90s XJ. Evidently he didn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. And then my blind back end didn't really look at it before I loaded it up into my truck. As soon as I opened the tailgate at home I saw "Borg Warner" cast into the case.

Bought an AX5 out of a 90s Cherokee to put in the Purple People Eater. Turned out to be a 4 speed, then at home it turned out to be a T4 out of an 82 CJ, so it went back to the seller. Drove 170 miles and wasted $30 in gas and half my Saturday.

Will tap right in.

Almost every 91 or older Cherokee I have seen had one. And there are hundreds of those in the junk yards around here. -

I believe they are made in Japan. Newer ones are made in Taiwan. -
I have ZJ D35 disk brakes on my 8.25", and the bolt holes lined up. I imagine the bolt holes on an MJ D35 would also match an XJ 8.25". You will have to drill/grind/cut the center hole out to fit over the larger axle tube.

Don't know how long the battery has to be disconnected. If not long enough, the time will not advance, but it will come on at the time it went off. So if it reads 4:00 and you unplug it for only a minute or so, it will come back on at 4:00.
