In my 90MJ (w/the 231 tcase), Ive got Ujoint front rear, everywhere. But in my 97XJ (with the 242 tcase), Ive got cv front and rear. I am not sure if that change happened in the renix/powertech switch, in the 97+ models, or if it is b/c of the 242 tcase. But there is a possibility that it is ujoint front and rear.

I think that in the 93's they still were standard cross type ujoints, not CV joints.

Can I just use an open radiator out of a Newer XJ w/o converting to full open system? What years of newer open radiator will work. If I Put in this radiator, do I still need to burp the system? Thanks, James

This explains my problem word for word!!! Ive been trying to fix this for the past 3 mos, but the stall issue is just now starting. So far I've replaced the map,mat,iac,cts,and egr. was going to find a cheapo tps at the pick and pull yard, but all had been taken. So I guess its off to Napa to get a new one.

Though that thought crossed my mind (I actually want to lock the front first) I want to regear b4 adding a locker so I am not spending money more than once on the same thing. When I get my final gearing done I am hoping to get 4.88s and Eaton E lockers front and rear. With an Aussie don't you need manual locking hubs as well?

yeah, the advanced tire wear and worse ride just isn't worth it for a DD that gets driven 60+ miles a day and maybe 12 miles offroad a month.

Will I get severe tire scrub on tight corners?

I haven't heard anything bad about it but I wanted to make sure b4 I do it. I've been looking into it b/c I don't want to spend money on a d35 but I would really like a locked rear b4 I have the money to update to a d44. What all is involved, is there any benifits or problems to worry about b4 doing this? Thanks

the cabela's universal fit for $40 looks promising, but it doesn't have the notch cut out. other than that the only perfect fit option is the $200+ neoprene custom fit covers.

#3 is the interior courtesy light plug, the dump valve has a red piece of plastic underneath the female plug in.

92 was a HO xj so that should work, computer systems may be different though.

It looks cool, but I don't really see the point since there is no use for them, and I don't think it is legal to have them on, when driving on the streets.

check out traildamage.com/trails. Most of the CO trails are on that site, A few good ones I can think of would be Saran Wrap and Eagle Rock, but unless you choose your lines wisely and have some luck, it will be hard to keep your rocker panels out of the rocks.

Just saw this thread, Ill be out that way next week and I may be up for picking a dual diaphram booster if it is still there. How many XJs did you see out there? Were there by chance any MJ's?
