Do NOT use Fram oil filters. (they have a history or failures in Jeeps) Check your battery box for cracks/breaks if the hold down is broken out all it takes is hitting a bump for the battery to come up and hit the hood, causing a severe short. Check your CAD (central axle disconnect) b4 you go offroad for the first time, and lock it over if necessary . (or permanently bypass it and never worry about it again  )

In the 242 XJ I can feel some very minor binding on tight turns but nothing at all compared to what I feel on the 231 or the 242 in part time mode. so I can see how it doesn't act as a full open diff but for lack of a better term L/S type diff that allows some movement but not a lot. I just don't understand why it would damage the tcase for the power do not be distributed to the wheels suddenly but instead the pass. side inner axle shaft, is it because the load is suddenly taken off the gears? What exactly gets damaged when the CAD lets loose?

Hockey stick style Pioneer/Sport truck decals

If I can get a file with the artwork on it that is to proper scale or full size in an .ai or something that will open in Adobe Illustrator I can probably make them pretty easily for fairly cheap. Let me know via PM. -
I've been thinking about this since you posted it. Why would it be a problem if the CAD disconnected in full time mode? :huh???:

For a couple of months now I have had my exhaust pipe hitting and rattling against my xmember. I have tried a prybar and floorjack to fix, but have had no success. What have you guys done/suggest be done?

Been in the 50s the last couple days here.

uuuuuh, that toyo doesn't have IFS. I know that the later models did have IFS, but in the 80s the 4runner had some beefy axles (wish I could say the same for stock jeep axles) and they were fairly cheap to build. If an older Toyo had a better engine, it would be a respectable wheeler.

What is the torque specs for both the axle side and the transfer case side bolts?

Was it with the fastest MJ so far?

Anyone else have any info on them, I was reading about them and they look pretty BA. looks like it could be pretty strong too, as there is an individual diff for each tire. And with the dual 5.7L, it would be very powerful. probably not going to be an actual production car ever, though.

He lives in the same state as JCR, so it would probably be the same for shipping.

I think that his has about 4" of upgraded suspension. :brows:
-
How did you get the Tomken MJ lift, I looked on their site but didn't see anything under MJ suspension. Nice truck btw.

This really pisses me off. People without liability insurance should not drive, that is a bare minimum and I think it is irresponsible to not have it. When I was rear ended back in OCT. insurance payed out 1800 in front end (I was shoved into 2 other cars) and 1400 in rear end damage on my truck. the rear damage was minimal so I haven't gotten it fixed and repaired the front for 800.

bolts on the yoke? tcase? or is it u joint straps? I saw the straps on the diff side but not on the tcase side.
-
Stupid question, I know. How do I remove the front driveshaft at the tcase end since it does not have a slip yoke up there. Do I have to press out the u joint?

Installed the 4x6 speakers into the b pillar.

After I installed my currie tracbar, it threw the alignment WAY off as well as the steering wheel center (because I had to center the axle under the truck as the shorter stock tracbar made it off-center by about an inch). When I took it in for alignment I just asked them to straiten the wheel. EDIT: Hornbrod you are posting something similar at the same time. :rotf: but mine adj tracbar did throw off the tow. :dunno:

yep, its at sidewinder pick and pull. I have the header panel (repainted), side vents, fender emblems, and rear carpet panel from it in my truck. I know the guy that has the tail lights and buckets out of it. I was sad to see it too. :( I think it is an 89'.

I've seen worse than mice, When I was fixing up my sisters XJ I pulled the rear left trim piece and found a ton of chewed up foam. when I took off the right piece a live gopher jumped out and ran off. I was shocked. :clapping:

I think that the H2s are not meant for offroad use. The H3 on the other hand I have seen offroad and stock can stomp most stock jeeps out there, except for the rubis of course, that is one Badass jeep stocker. I think it is all a matter of if the owner is purchasing the car as a status symbol or as a off road rig. Unfortunately most ppl buying hummers today are buying them to make the car look like a flaming douchebag is behind the wheel than to make it into a capable rig. Jeep owners for the most part don't have that problem. :clapping:
-
Although I prefer most Jeeps to most Hummers. I would own an H2 or H3 with lockers f/r any day over a compass, patriot, libby, commander, etc.

yeah, I have been using the carquest filters in all the XJs and my MJ since I got them, No problems yet.
