  1. Time to get that off of there!
  2. Welcome to the forums!
  3. Looks like a lot o fun!
  4. finished my headliner!
  5. Yeah, now that they have full width I am interested in theirs, but when they first came out their bumpers were lacking a bit on the sides.
  6. keys weren't changed in 97, my 98 XJ ignition key works in my replacement 1st gen chryco glovebox latch, just luck of the draw that I happened to get the same lock cylinder in my XJ as in my replacement latch.
  7. I'm redoing mine right now, I got my fabric from JoAnne fabrics, just ask for headliner fabric. ;) EDIT: Oh yeah, And I am gluing it down with Camie 393 spray adhesive for headliners/laminating.

    Wheelin' 12/27

nice pics, looks like a nice time, but this should be in the wheeling trips section.
  9. I think that this could be several different things: 1) As said before, the ratchet assembly could be worn out, mine will take a massive load and not release. 2)Some MJs have a spring that returns the parking brake pedal (I say some because mine doesn't have one but I haven't had any problems as the tension on the cables return the pedal) this spring could be too strong if the PO put a different one in and could be pulling the ratchet assembly back. 3) As said before wheel cables could be frozen up, but the main front cable could be frozen up too. 4) Check your parking brake actuator adjustment. When the drum brakes themselves aren't properly adjusted, the parking brakes will not work properly. Many people mistake this as just the cables being loose and tighten the crap out of those cables. 5) Relating to #4, check the drum brake adjustment, if the brakes are over-adjusted, the parking brake will be tight.
  10. Definitely interested. Looks like the ones that JCR came up with only yours are full width! If you decide to make more let me know and how much $$$.
  11. I pulled the drivers side b pillar trim off and found old screw holes for the speakers and a connector. Is this the speaker connector/wires, if so, which is positive?Negative? There is a green with yellow tracer and a black with yellow tracer: .
  12. will all comanches have the wiring for the speakers? Will it always be in the dome light harness?
  13. yeah, the last guy definitely didn't install the stereo quite right. I noticed today that the passenger speaker in the door doesn't even work right now and the drivers side door speaker only works when the door is closed. The new speakers came with mounts, but IDK if they will work or not. :dunno:
  14. I'm thinking that my truck probably didn't have a sound system to begin with as all of the stuff in the front is aftermarket and high quality. But the PO was cheap and lazy and didnt want to buy/install rear speakers. I pulled the lower dash panel today and the tweeters were duct taped in place.
  15. got a set of alpine 4X6s for $60. Now I just need to get some mounts.
  16. yeah, thats what I am going to do now, I didnt look at how to mount them until this morning, and I definitely don't want to cut up the b pillar trim. Off to Ultimate to get some 4X6s.
  17. I found some stock speakers out of my dads f250, I guess I will wire those in tomorrow.
  18. So did the base models not have speakers to begin with or did the PO take them out? EDIT: Also, what size/watt speaker went in that spot stock?
  19. Anyone have the slow answer? I didn't find any wiring or mounts, but I have the base model so was it only offered on higher trim packages?
  20. Are there supposed to be 2 speakers behind the cab? There is a vent on the lower b-pillar trim that looks like it is for speakers but on mine there are none there. Thanks, James
  21. ok, I think I could do this swap! Now I am going to look for a set of seats. Not in a hurry though, as I want to find a set of nice seats to use.
  22. yeah, It was the first trail I ever went up in the MJ, my avatar pic is of my on the "squeeze " obstacle. Rider: Congrats on making it up the left line of the whale!!! EDIT:Where did you get that truck toolbox?
  23. ok, my next clarification question is: The bench brackets are the same as the bucket brackets besides the linkage going across the hump, right?
  24. If I found some 2 door buckets from an XJ and used my MJ bench brackets, what would I do about the forward/back movement release on the passenger seat? :dunno: Seems like there would be some linkage going across the hump that wouldnt be compatible with a full console.
  25. thats the trail that ate my rocker panels for lunch.
