my 88 swb had an 18 gal tank, not sure of the other size option for swb, and i am not sure what my new swb has in it. my 86 lwb has the 23.5 gal optional tank, the small stock tank is 16.5 gals or sumthin stupid like that IIRC. i would have to look in my manual for sure though. y not run it down as far as you can and then go fill it up? see how many gals u can fit in it then see what it is closest to? just my $.02 8) Alex

Once and for all: swapping in buckets
GirsMJ86 replied to ORCA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
SouthLake - let us know how this goes for sure. i am thinking about replaceing my MJ buckets with XJ ones maybe. i am not sure yet but it might be an option since i have spare seats. :D Alex -
not a problem, this is why we are here. :D Alex

ok i found a sticker. it is a Delta Champion single lid and it was bought back in 94. the only thing we have done to it is replace the pistons about 1yr ago. the rest of the box works and looks great. just need to get one MJ size which you can look up on their site or use some of the sizes posted on here and just go to lowes and take your tape with ya. Alex

call it $25 if you come and get it. Maybe free if you got any random spare parts. I'm in AShland, it's where 250 meets 71. About 2 hours from toledo. We could make arrangments to meet up near toledo. I got some friends up there I been meaning to visit anyway. or you both could come meet at my place in marion (about 30mins away from delaware and 1hr away from ashland) instead of going clear to toledo. i will be getting tons of spare parts next week that you both can look through and buy. 87manche can bring the toolbox and bdjr can get a toolbox and front coils. lol. :D Alex

that looks alot better. i think i would leave all the lights though so they plugged into the MJ and worked still. Alex

that brings back memories of when i worked at the jeep dealer. one day we had Hoggys for lunch and it was good. ribs, pulled pork, beans, the works. Alex
-
that is one thing that is nice free. did ya take the front axle too since it should have matched? Alex

Let me know what brand it is ASAP, I'm the kind of guy that likes to only buy things once. i will go look and see if i can find a brand on it. all the decals are gone, we took them off when it was new. lol. i think there should be a label inside though so i will look and see if they have on MJ size on their site maybe. Alex

i use to have one of those delta plastic ones. i took it back and got a refund. the latch part pulled too hard and shreded the plastic that was holding it all together. the plastic ones are also known to sweat bad in the humidity, ture or not i am not sure. i only had mine for one month in winter. i will get some pics of my new one once i get my 91 here. it looks like the ones we have used in our K-10s for years here on the farm. i will have to get brands and stuff but the one in our K-10 now is over 12 years old, still without any problems. The trailer's lifted taller than the MJ! i saw that too. sort of weird looking. but if i ever did that i would use a stock longbed, shortbed just looks weird. Alex

Pop the CAD cover off and slide the coupler over to lock both shafts together, move the shift fork so it sits inside, and reinstall the cover. You can shim the fork over with some washers if you want, but it shouldn't move from where it sits as long as you don't apply any vaccuum to the shift motor. Don't reconnect the vac lines, and plug the fittings. Jeff i might give that a shot if all else fails. i had this problem on my 86 so i think i might know where to start looking. just have to wait til i get it though i guess. Alex

i can wait to get pics, should only be a week at most til i have it. thanks anyways. you can always still take pics of it to drool over if ya wanted. lol. Alex

This is what a 350 looks like in a comanche.

I have a Jeep 360 in my MJ and I know where there might be a 401. :D 8) too bad I'm broke right now or else i would ask if this 401 is for sale. lol. Alex -

well beaterjeep is coming to pickup my 86 this friday. then the 91 and all the parts are being delivered to my house hopefully sometime next week. we have been trying to figure out how to work all this out since Rob posted that it was for sale on here. i was not having any luck getting someone to tag along with me on the trip so we finally figured out this way that works. once it gets here i will be able to get pics of all the parts and some good ones of the truck. i am also working on transfering all the pics off my laptop to the desktop so i have them again. but there will be tons of info going in here on the truck itself along with pics of it and the parts. first project on it though will be to track down the vac leak so the 4x4 works this winter. i have one of the R/C Gladiator Concepts. it did really well off-road stock but i took it into a hobby store and it is now in parts getting better tires, motor, everything. i am making it gas so i don't have to keep messing with that stupid battery. it is not the hot wheels one but the big 1:6 scale version. i can't seem to find any pics so i will have to keep looking or get some later. i plan on doing with it like the MJ R/C is that was on here awhile ago. Alex

that happened to me on my old 88. the plastic caps on the rod that connects the handles to the mechanics of the door fell out of their holes. i threaded the ends of the rod, put the plastic caps back on and put lock nuts on the ends of the rod. seemed to work just fine. but you have to be able to get the door panel off to do it. Alex

never done any work to the stupid carb. and all the vac lines are connected and working. the choke might be an idea. but the TPI would be the best route if ya ever want to make it run really well joe. Alex

well our farm tanks are almost never full. we get the discounts at Kroger for their gas by spending too much money on food. lol. so i take the K-10 to Krogers and fill up the tanks in the bed then pump it out into the farm tanks. our farm tanks have filters on the lines but i have seen stuff get through them at my dads work place in the truck he uses around there. i was thinking filter but my stepdad brought up vapor lock and it sounds like an option if the filter doesnt work. 1989.JEEP COMANCHE(MJ)----My car----"Small green"
GirsMJ86 replied to jean's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
looks stock to me. MJs could have those as an option from Jeep. and that looks just like one in my parts list i "got" from the Jeep dealer i use to work for. Alex -
it is an hp ze5400 cto. let me know how much a new modem and sound card runs. just need cheap things as i am going to give it to my dad since insurance is replaceing it. it happened at my moms house so she called them. they said that with laptops it is replacement. so i am going to luck out and get a newer better one. found one on circuit city that is 2 times better then the one that got fried for only 1400. it has 2x the memory, 3x the hard drive space, way better graphics card, lightscribe dvd burner, built-in microphone and webcam, and a much better dual processor. incase anyone wants to look at this one yourself it is the only dv9000 for 1400 (1349 after rebates) on cicuitcity.com. should have the money for my old one this week, then my new one once circuit city gets them in.
