31's will fit. they rub if you turn sharp and might if you flex a bit but that is really it. although they do come close to the flare in the front also. i have about 29's on my 86 4x4. i am not sure what the metric size is on them though. they fit in there really well, don't rub or anything and they look good too. well congrats on getting the 4.0 in and working. also that is one nice 86 you have there. i was starting to wondering i mine was one of the only 86 MJs out there that looked as clean. how much rust does your have? Alex

how hard was that 4.0 swap? you are about the only person i know of that has done it. i am sure there are others but you are here so i will ask. lol. Alex

it wasnt bad but it did not state anything that i did not know. i have not been to impressed with Jp Mag for awhile now. i keep getting it though since i finally talked them into doing more MJ stuff. i bugged them all the time then they decided to buy one so now they MIGHT come in handy one of these days. well we finally got some rain around this place. nothing hard just a steady drizzle. :D . but i was sitting behind my $2k hp laptop listening to music getting ready to go get a dew when all of a sudden i hear a REALLY loud pop sound and my screen goes black, along with the dvd rom making weird sounds :eek: but the laptop itself was still running. well i turned it off and back on and still doing it. so i had to take it downstairs and rip the hdd and battery out of it before it would work again. but then as time went on and i wanted to listen to music i find out my sound card got fried :eek: . so i decide to get online and see how much a new one would cost for it and i find out my modem got fried too :eek: . so i am stuck useing my moms $300 POS Dell desktop that is slower then crap. we have dial up internet but my laptop would have a 4MB file downloaded in 5mins, but this thing is taking 1hr. this is going to be hard to get use to while i am useing it. i have to see if my dvd rom still works or not yet, if it doesnt then i am not fixing it and i will just take a loan out or something to buy a newer hp or sager one :cheers: . :headpop: :hateputers: Alex

i have everything that is required to make it work. all the sensors and wiring and everything. i will be sure to get pics and all that stuff as i am doing it incase anyone else ever wants to do it along with the overhead temp gauge as well. Alex

well there are a few MJs in that town. but after trackitn them all down ine is in the best shape but someone else has the rollbar i need for my 86. lol. my 86 is all black with chrome grille and G I R in the rear window. other then the GIR letters that the only real way to tell mine apart from this chick that has a black MJ. hers has white letters on the tailgate though. (I should get them some magnets.)but unless this was about 2 months ago it wasnt me. my MJ has been non-driveable since the brakes went out on me. so i have been driving my big black 86 K-10 untill i get the MJ back. OK, for one do you guys know how many of these things there were? there were like 6 of them. then what they did when they were done with them was combine them all to make one mint one for the museum. if you notice the first pic of them on here there are two in it, each with 88 grilles. the one in the museum has an 86-87 grille. the museum one is #33. I have pics of numbers 31, 32, and 34. 31 has an 86-87 grille. 32 and 34 have 88 grilles. the reason of all this is unknown to me. also in this months Jp Mag they have a pic of #33 and it is different looking then any posted here, that one is one of the spare 33s. but they were all put together to make one mint mj, idk why they didnt paint it to match but maybe they wanted to keep it original. i also have pics of the off-road racers. ok i just have this to say: hummers suck no matter what. i have a pic of a wrangler pulling a stuck H1 out. so if a wrangler has to pull out an H1 why waste 100k when you can only spend 15k and have something better? if i find the pic i will post it. Alex

ok kool. and that is why i am getting them. i think they will look really good on that black front with that chrome bully bar then i have chrome side trip and a chrome rollbar to put on it. so it will look really good. but i am sticking with the red tailights, i HATE euro lights. Alex

do they get around... well let me see. my 88 eliminator was covered to the windsheild and top of the bed one winter in our driveway. all I had in the bed was a few sandbags. and all i did to get it out that day was rock it a few times, but the tires i had on it were almost too warn out for the road car tires. so with trucks tires i bet it would have just pulled right out. i have never used the 4x4 on my 86 X, even when i was in mud up to my axles one time. so with car tires you would have no problem getting around.
