i think they just mean the answers that she gives on her page in the back. they are just answers to whatever readers send in. Alex

if you got 10 bucks to spare i would say go for it. you may get lucky and it might be one for an MJ. but it sounds like it is just the XJ version that he is selling as an MJ version. i have yet to find an MJ one on disc. Alex
-
no way!! 84s!! man who wouldnt need an 84-85 manual. lol. they either have the years wrong or that is just an xj fsm. Alex
-
got a link to it? i have not seen a fsm for an MJ on disc yet. but maybe someone got bored enough to do it. Alex
-
joe - sure thing. i will have to dig into the files i saved onto the pc from my laptop. i had writeups and everything. not too hard, but once i lost my jack i was stuck and could not proceed. i have used this xplod stuff in every MJ i have had so far. i have the complete set. all four speakers for the factory locations, amps, 12" subs, and now the tornado tube. plus my newer xplod radio plays the nice artrac 3 format sony has so i can fit lots of music on one disc. it also has the plug so i can plug in my psp or laptop. i was thinking of putting one of the 1k dvd players with the screen that comes out then pops up so you can see it. i might down the road so i can have an umbrella interface play on it at shows. Alex

well i have a full Xplod system that i am putting in it, along with a tornado(spl?) tube. it should get some real nice bass going in the smaller cab. and the jack flying apart was funnier then but only because i was not under the truck when it happened. and joe, if it comes down to it, doing the rear main is not hard at all. the reason it costs so much and noone wants to do it i am told is that it takes time. i was told by my friend ,who was going to do it but instead told me how, that all u need is a floor jack and two people. just take the tranny off and you are there. but he said it takes time. Alex
-
i can't believe you don't have it back yet. but hey it aint as bad as one of the many times i had it looked at about the rear main. one place had it for 3 weeks. they did not even look at it til the 3rd week. then they had the nerve to charge me 50 just for looking at it. they also wanted over 1k to fix it. that is when i decided to do it myself, but my jack blew apart while trying to lift it so i decided to sell it. Alex

not true. you have the 2.8L V6 and Selec-trac badges. lol. yea sorry bout that. i had to hunt for those badges that i had on the 86. got some from people here on in the club, some from JYs, and a few from ebay. if you can't find any 86 style ones i can send ya the lower case ones off the 91. just let me know if ya need em. Alex

yea i think it will be gray and green this time. too bad green was not brought up before i made that other poll. oh well. Alex
-
it has the comanche badges on the doors. i kept my 86 ones and they are going on as soon as it gets here. i like the cap letters better, more bold looking for a truck. i also have the 4.0 badge and command-trac badge to put on it. along with my 2 trail-rated badges. oh and the 4x4 ones too. lol. and i did not think about stenciling the logos one. i did well on the jeep letters on my 86 tailgate. i might do that. won't be as hard as the jeep letters were. but i have to do those again unless i just buy some reflective letters off spencer. Alex

well as you can see it is on the trailer and on its way here as i write this. so i should have pics and a few pics of the CAD "temp" project i am going to do once it gets here. then i will try to follow that up with the radio/compass installation since the compass ties into the radio area for the most part. then the rollbar/lights. that i would guess would be it til the summer time for projects. then i will get into the xj control center, find the 4wd vac leak, and a homemade rear bumper or reinforcing a stock rear bumper if i can find one. I am going to use some of the por-15 clearcoat over the real paintjob that is chip proof and everything so it won't get hurt off the road. it will also get a custom black matching interior down the road too. nothing ricer looking, just black factory looks. so look for pics and stuff starting monday, or sooner if i get too giddy. :D Alex

CW - those look sweet. i hope to get my hands on some turbines some day and do that exact color combo with them. Jeepthing - if ya want to pay shipping i would blast your turbines for cheap, like i said. and if you want to see some that i have done in the past i will try and track down some pics of my 86 rims before and after shots. Alex

i know exactly which q tec catalog ur talking about, if only there really was a delivery girl like that lol well i don't know what the UPS girl you fellas are talkin about looks like but the UPS girl for the jeep dealer where i worked was H-O-T hot. i am sure not as hot as the one you guys are talkin bout though. lol. Alex
-
Jeepthing - i could blast your turbines for ya. i am a tad closer then CW if you can get them here and everything. shipping for them would not be cheap i would think. but let me know. Alex

i did that once with my trench coat. everything i put into the pocket that had a hole in it ended up at the bottom of the coat. i had to have my mother open up the bottom of the coat to get it out then sew it back up. lol. eh, its a friday. we can get away with that stuff on fridays. you had your mind on wrenching on your MJ this weekend is what it is. :wrench: Alex

i am in ohio and i went to NJ to get my 86. so i am glad to see that i am not the only one who has done that trip. nice find. and that package was never an option. but there were factory skids that you could order to have put on them. alot of times though they seem to get in the way once you lift one of these. and it looks like it has an aftermarket 3" lift on it with 31" tires. so it is not a very big lift but seems to be the most common for these. just for comparison here is my 91 with a 3" lift: and here is my 86 stock Image Not Found Alex

Another project idea Question On coilovers
GirsMJ86 replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ok i am betting that is the reson i did not do the swap then. my MJs have always been more of a streetrat then trail rig since there are not too many places other then my fields around me to run. also i use my truck as a truck and haul lots of stuff and really did not want to mess with the factory setup and risk something going wrong. so Cole i would say if you want a good trail rig then go for it. i can't find any of the pages i use to have on my laptop so i can't help ya out on your choice. ok, question. how would the swap work for one that is on the road and sees trails every now and then. i think that is the reason i decided not to do it. not sure, its been awhile since i was even thinking of doing this. this was a plan back before i knew of the club. Alex -
that is good. wonder where i can get one of those. or since they can get that do go that fast then i wonder how fast i can get my MJ to go. lol. yea the B1 is one sweet looking bomber. but i can't wait to see these pics you get. Alex
-
well i am talking about the B1 Bomber Lancer. i am sure if you saw pics you would know which one i am talking about. just get on google images and search for B1-B and you will see. it was made as a sort of replacement for the B-52. it has a much higher payload, longer flight range, smaller in size, faster, more precise target system, along with the movable wings and nose for higher speeds and take off and landings. they are not used too much anymore since the B2 has sort of replaced it. but it is still in production and used for long range non stealth missions that require mass amounts of bombs that the B2 can't carry. GirsMJ86 replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i was looking into this at one time but found out it would not work too well if you ever needed to use your truck as a truck. can't remember the real reason why i decided not to do this idea though. and i don't have the pages anymore about this but i might be able to dig em back up. Alex -
here is one that would go along with your problem a bit better. the CPS (Crank Position Sensor). it is on the bellhousing near the engine at either 11 or 3 o'clock position. if it is not connected or there is a short in the wire your jeep won't run or start. let me know if none of these fix it. Alex
