Are Base Mj's Harder To See In Traffic Than Other Cars?
92tanMJ replied to RochesterMJ's topic in The Pub
People ALWAYS @#$%ing pulling out in front of me :fs1: in both my (gunmetal pearl *blue*) Cherokee and (tan) Comanche. So I don't really think color has anything to do with it. Just they don't care and assume you will stop for them. However. I put a big @$$ mofo of a stinger on the Cherokee. NOT one person has pulled out in front of me in it since then...once I get cash I'm putting on the Comanche as well. -
That's an awfully large tcase drop imo...More than one inch is pretty hard on the motor mounts and I have heard, never seen, but heard of people with 2" drops with their mechanical fans hitting the radiator. Noob question.. How is a longer slip yoke going to help with vibration? Aren't the vibrations caused by the angles of the joints?

For those of you up in the north I would suggest bedlinering you truck bed real good then putting a plastic liner in...Ive seen to many up here rust out of the plastic liners. Just a suggestion.

92tanMJ replied to onlyinajeep726's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
4.0/ax15/3.07/31's I use 1-5 everyday and I'm not even on the highway. It has no problems going into 5th at ~60 for me :dunno: Figured you had it covered but just wanted to check  -

Regear Or Bigger Tires?
92tanMJ replied to onlyinajeep726's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The numbers next to the gear are the speeds at X rpm With 235/75/15 (28.8's) with 3.55: (what I'm assuming you have now) Gear: 1500 RPM/ 2500 RPM/ 3500 RPM 1 9 16 22 2 16 26 36 3 25 42 59 4 36 61 85 5 46 77 107 With 275/75/15 (31.2's) with 3.55: (what I'm assuming your going to get) Gear 1500 RPM 2500 RPM 3500 RPM 1 10 17 24 2 17 28 39 3 27 45 64 4 39 65 92 5 50 83 116 With 235/75/15 (28.8's) with 3.07: (what I'm assuming you have now) Gear: 1500 RPM/ 2500 RPM/ 3500 RPM 1 11 18 26 2 18 30 42 3 29 49 68 4 42 70 98 5 53 89 124 With 275/75/15 (31.2's) with 3.07: (what I'm assuming your going to get) Gear 1500 RPM 2500 RPM 3500 RPM 1 12 20 28 2 19 32 45 3 32 53 74 4 45 76 106 5 58 96 134 IMO I would NOT regear down.. if anything regear up and get bigger tires  *All of the rpms/speed are right for the 31's. My XJ has 3.55 and MJ has 3.07* -

False. False. False. I don't care how realiable any car/truck is. Ever heard the expresions "$#!& happens" and "I would rather have it and not need it. Then need it and not have it." That is just wrong and bad advice. I was going to suggest the truck 'bed' thing Impluse said. http://www.yotatech.com/f132/t100-mods-128411/ https://www.google.com/search?q=Truck+Bed+Sleeping+Platform&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=o9MPU4n3Iefo2gXY_oGIBQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAg&biw=1393&bih=630&dpr=2 https://www.google.com/search?q=Truck+Bed+camping&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=K9QPU_bxGuab2wX5x4EI&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAg&biw=1393&bih=630&dpr=2

I have never found rockauto to be a good deal. The shipping is what kills them for me 99% of the time. Although I'm sure this could be a use to someone if they have a cherokee/know what parts swap over http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclefeeds.php?carcode=1315943&m=wc&l=en&html=true

Built A New "stock" Bumper....
92tanMJ replied to krustyballer16's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Dang man that looks great! -
It started when kids born in the seventies became adults, and has become progressively worse every decade. :peek: IMO It was even before that...It's the "greatest generation" WWII rapped up they all came back and really didn't feel like being parents. But I agree...I can't stand lazy people. No one anymore has self motivation for anything anymore
-
Yeah I wouldn't worry about that. The way you explained it, it looked much different in my head.
-
I honestly don't know, but I guess... if you're lifting it 4" then it would need to be 4" longer. Eagle? Opinion?
-
Pretty sure the slip yoke isn't longer but the drive shaft is
-
Why don't you just weld it then? :dunno:

Question About Removing Doors- Yes, I Have Searched
92tanMJ replied to SmthnD1ff's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Gotcha, that sucks man. :ack: I think I'm going to pick up some doors off CL this weekend to make half doors this summer :brows: Hopefully I can figure out how to make some upper soft doors like wranglers have...but nothing that fancy maybe just some of those span buttons and some kinda fabric? What would be even more awesome is if I could figure out some way to a'fix plexiglass in there so I could run half doors all summer and put the plexi in when it rains? oh my...clicky clicky since I can't link the photo http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=84388
