Just got one. Almost got a different shape, they have a few. I'll post a pic tomorrow of the shocks. Thanks a lot.

Something I never new before........... Mine being a short wheel base, the rear shocks are mounted behind the axle. Yours being a long wheel base, the shocks are mounted in front of the axle. I really like that d44 cover. I looked around and could not find it. Could you give some info on it, where you got it, price, do you like it?

Just looked up clocking. "clocking the ax15 for xj" You don' need to buy an adapter, just use a thin cardboard like a Coors Lite box. Just cut out the tailshaft and the mounting holes. Don't forget to mark a starting point. Then move it to the position you want. I think it was in the 10 degree range. -

Didn't want to bash in the tunnel, so I made a template of the bolt spacing. Moved the template to where I wanted it and redrilled the holes. Then filled the original holes with an aluminum rod and jb weld. Also the bolt spacing is NOT the same all the way around so mark the template. -
Vacuum reservoir canister
desertmike replied to IronManche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Don't have a diagram but if iirc its a 2 part canister. Half for the engine and half for the cruise control. Smashed my bumper once and the engine worked but not cruise. -
HITCH PLATES!
desertmike replied to krustyballer16's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Didn't read the whole post but they do make receiver material that has no seam on the inside. -
I don't normally post things like this. But I build BBQ smokers on the side now and then and saw this on one of my forums. Thought you Star Wars fans might enjoy this. https://www.facebook.com/BurnedbyDesign/videos/1635266906712154/

Don't quote me on this but I just looked at the BA10 sitting in my yard and I think there the same. Sorry was looking at the original post. For $750 I think the second XJ is worth taking the whole thing. I would think that XJ has everything you would need except 4 doors. lol. -

I now you already got it but here's my info. Be sure its not an BA10. Just FYI I paid $500 for a AX15 with external slave several years ago. It was rebuilt with very lows miles. I got lucky. Works fine. On the wifes XJ i found a AX15 with a rebuilt 231 attached for $750 and got the driveshafts. Works great also. The wifes XJ is an 89 but came with a BA10 so the upgrade. If you find the right AX15 the TC case is easy to rebuild. -
Replacing the clutch
desertmike replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I put a Centerforce in the Comanche and it takes alot more leg pressure than the wifes XJ with an Amazon Prime unit in it Don't remember whose. Both have AX15's and external slave, etc. -

On the puller I used I had to grind a little off the ends so it would fit inside. -
Replacing the clutch

Thanks for the backup "knucklehead97". I know were a little off topic but the worst one is when you have to pull the complete front axle and you have the jackstands maxed out under the doors. lol -
Replacing the clutch
desertmike replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I always have this fear of the truck falling off the jackstands for some reason, never happened though. Anyway my truck has a 4 1/2 inch lift. I use 4 pcs of 4x12 lumber , one under each wheel and have plenty of roll around room. Done this more than once. -
Thanks. I'll do a little more research and try clipsandfasteners.

I'm trying to find the plastic connectors that hold the interior panel onto the rear hatch. Had to take it off and most of them broke. There are so many different ones that I'm not sure. Can you steer me to Amazon or Ebay for the correct ones? This is for a 1989. Thanks

Thanks for the choices. I'm leaning towards the ARB ones because of the ease of install.

Need to replace the dash rocker switches on my MJ and XJ.. ie the cargo lite, fog lites, plus some options. They only work part time........Would like a lite when on and what the switch is for, don't want symbols. What are you guys using?

Small open end or Cresent works fine.

Update: Put in a new complete pump assy and wala, it starts and run great. No more stalling, backfiring, ruff running, etc. No bad sensors just a bad pump. Didn't get a Bosch unit because of price. I had to tweek the gauge lever a little to get it in and it went from 1/2 to almost empty. Gotta work on that. On the old unit the rubber hose had rotted away. I now believe in fuel pressure. And maybe all these wierd @$$ problems are from low pressure.
