OK so I have a 89 4.0 renix engine and AX-15, I thought I had gone through everything at least once but apparently not. Its pretty much always had intermittent problems with the engine. The issues have no real pattern and can sometimes go for a month without a single problem. Over the summer the truck would just stall, at random times whether idling or under power. And then not start back up again. If it sat for 5 to 20 min, it would start up no problem. I replaced the CPS with a new OEM one which did not help. I originally was running an 88 ECU that was original to the truck, not the 89 motor that is in it. In a attempt to solve the stalling issue, I installed the ECU from the 89, which was original to that motor, as far as I know. So both ECUs were from renix 4.0s, but currently I have the ECU that was original to the motor that is now in the trucki. Changing out the ECUs did not solve the issue either. I eventually replaced the CTS on the side of the block, with an autozone brand sensor (the dealer claimed they no longer made them). This solved the issues and ran great after that. About 2 months later I developed a bad fuel leak from the sending unit. The day I discovered the leak, the truck was loosing power randomly, and intermittently idling rough. However it would NOT stall, and I would eventually be able to correct it. I figured it was a fuel issue with the leaking sending unit. The truck sat for about 5 days while I was fixing the sending unit, and when I started it for the first time after that it started hard and was still ideling rough/loosing power. After a 5 mile drive, things had worked out and it was running perfect, fuel leak fixed. One day had passed and it began to loose power again. I noticed it was far worse when towing a trailer or under a load. So i checked fuel pressure and it was around 31 to 33 range, and did not fluctuate at all when loosing power. I ordered an O2 sensor from napa but it did not come in yet. I then discovered something that I think may be the cause. There is a port in the back of the intake manifold behind the TB, that is currently plugged off on my manifold. I just discovered that there is a IAT sensor that is meant to be installed in that port, but speculation on where to buy one. If anyone has any idea where to get one/ what ones will work or any info at all on that that would be great.

The thread actually comes up on google as "MJ/XJ interior diamond plate" but when you click on it its no longer there. I don't really care if hes not selling them, I was just curious to see his design and maybe build something similar -

No but thank you. He had one picture that was hard to see, but I'm pretty sure it was the very bottom plastic interior piece. The one that goes under the door threshold for lack of a better description. Not the plastic piece on the rocker, the one inside the cab that's a part of the other interior plastic. I was curious because i currently have none of those pieces installed, and thought the painted aluminum might hold up better than the painted plastic. -
So there was a thread in the classified section with diamond plate interior pieces a guy was making. He was going to send me more pictures, so I went to check back in and the thread is no longer there. If you read this I would still appreciate a picture, thanks

Built Up A Powerwheels Jeep!
JeepComanche89 replied to Pete M's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
When I was like 3?, my dad brought home a pink barbie power wheels jeep. His friend brought it for his daughters, but blew the motors putting in a 12 volt battery lol. My dad put in new motors from powerwheels, and painted the whole thing white. My mom, who works for a local paper, designed "sheriff" decals to place all over it, since my dads a sheriff officer. It was the coolest thing ever lol. When I was old enough I used to pretend to work on it, along with all the other rigs in my powerwheels garage. -
 I sooo want that

That headliner looks awesome dude. I really love how clean it all looks, you did a great job. I may have to build off off that console idea. I really love the soundbar too but I'm leaning more towards just the console for me.

I try to be careful with tools, but it dosent always work that way. I never left anything inside the engine bay that harmed anything but it has happened before. One time when I was probably 13, I was putting the bike rack on my moms truck. I was tightening the bolt with my new "foose" edition mac ractchting wrench. (best Christmas ever  ). When I had apparently placed it on the rear bumper. She then drove me to my friends house (about 3 miles away down a back road), and I got out to take the bike off, and the wrench was sitting right there on the bumper. And when I bought my MJ, I found a impact grade socket on somewhere on the exhaust I think. It was locked onto the bolt and rusted but came off and cleaned up great. I think it was like snap on or something too.

hahahah, he doees sound leek a muppit :rotf: I would consider it on a bet up or rolled truck, but never on one that clean.

Ive gotton that before. Someone seriously offered me 2,000 for it. I laughed and told him its worth alot more. He then said he was just "messing with me" and he knew it was worth more, and told me I couldn't possibly want more then 4,000 as it wasn't worth that. Carwash mechanics :rotf:

Yup, half the kids at my highschool would never recognize that its a jeep. This kids smarter than them I'm sure. I do enjoy talking to people about comanches too, especially the ones who have no idea what they are. I ve gotten the "how did you make that bed" before as well. Definatly part of the reason I love my truck, when it turns heads its sither the people are checking it out, or they have no idea what they just saw running down the road. :laughin:

Wow, dude that has to be the best ending you could ask for. Some great friends right there. Sucks big time you rolled yours though, I loved that truck.

Very true, that would definatly be interesting to know

Looks like an awesome time, congrats on having one of the coolest MJ's ever!

^^this, and yes you can use a drill bit as i mentioned. Didnt even know a spot weld cutter existed.

Did you get it to work?

Been there, done that, they never gave me credit for the returned part. I pick up one from the local Jeep dealer. The part is from a TJ. It was a perfect fit. This was on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Jeep-Wrangler-TJ-Manual-Transmission-Inner-Shift-Boot-97-04-Shifter-tear-/221198231609?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AJeep%7CModel%3AWrangler&hash=item3380712839&vxp=mtr Yeah thats the same one in the OP's link. Which is the one I had bought, works perfect.

Its not meant to stretch, but once the screws are in the metal will fold to the contour of the plate that is screwed to the tunnel. I replaced mine months ago, so I don't really remember if any of the holes lined up or not. I'm going to say that they didn't, but I know I used self tapping sheet metal screws to mount the boot. IIRC the hole for the stick to pass through is off center, so just put in the same orientation as the original one was in.

Drill out the spot welds
