You Can re-use your old ones but New ones From MOPAR are Like $10.00 for a new Pair... As for the placement you should install the axle in the truck and then center the axle and set the Pinion angle then once your happy and you should have measured Pinion Angle on your stock D35 before removing it but it is fairly easy to set then tighten up the U-bolts and re-measure everything again to be sure the pinion angle is right and the axle is centered then tow it to the shop or get a welder to come to you and weld it up... Good Luck

Your Welcome... But Sorry you can't look it up... But You can go into any Chrysler dealership and Ask them to look it up as well as print you the build sheet but they drop Years so I would say go get your build sheet before they become un available I think anything 88 and older is no longer in the system with exception of the build date...

I do not know Pete But I do know Conversions and the only way to use a CJ bushing is if your transmission is 1991 and older as the Input shafts are the same size, MOPAR decided in 92 for whatever reason to increase the diameter of the input shaft where it would rest in the pilot bearing therfore the only way to make a CJ bushing work would be to have the ID bored out to the larger size...
-
Not exactly But on the right path... Your 88 uses a smaller Pilot bearing the the 93 so your going to have to change the pilot bearing to get this corrected... 88 bearing http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=628318&imageurl=http%3A//info.rockauto.com/RB/14657-007.jpg 93 bearing http://info.rockauto.com/getimage/getimage.php?imagekey=447751&imageurl=http%3A//info.rockauto.com/BCA/BCA_FC-69907_ANG.jpg The input shaft is pressed up tight against the crankshaft which is jamming everything up, I am surprised you got it toghther without noticing the trouble to mate them... There is no over the counter bearing so you will need to get one from Advance adapters or get a bushing made at a local machine shop... Good luck

I just ran a VIN for a Customer and it looks like he has a very young MJ with a build date of May 4 1992 on the 21 hour... I have suggested to him that he join and register the truck himself...

In my opinion and first hand experince the best things would be - Look at your gears to see if they are correct for your tire size and if not re-gear - Electric Fan swap to get rid of the Mechanical fan - Open element filter and better flowing exhaust - Hub Conversion IF you do not already have the Vacum actuator - Synthetic fluids - Tonneau cover for us MJ guys - Mid grade fuel - Vacum guage so you can monitor your driving My MJ with a slightly moded 4.0L (but nothing major) and the electric fan, AW4, 3:73 gears and 31x10.5x15 tires gets around 15L per 100KM (15MPG) city and I am not nice with it, I do not drive all that much with it on the highway so I will have to look that up next time I am on a Road trip... It will get much better once I get my 33's on as my gears are too tall for 31's and get around to installing my Hub conversion... I find it soo funny when people make statements that the Jeep can not be good on fuel because it is a brick in the wind, Fuel mileage is what your make it and it can be great if you make the right changes and drive acordingly but most people do not spend the money in the right places especially once they have lifted the Jeep... My Old CJ7 on 35's with the right amount of things done and the correct driving attitude I got around 600KM per tank (19MPG) so the brick in the wind is definately not a a good statement...

Some people are just like that either it is becaue We are Not American or because they are just too lazy either way I am glad you got your money back... Look in your local Phone book and find someone in town that can rebuild your injectors for you Check places that rebuild auto parts as they tend to rebuild more then just one item...

Nice.... Your practically building my truck All you need now to be almost the same is a cowl hood... I was going to wait till I found a 00 or 01 but got a great deal on my 98 donor truck... I do plan on building another one in the future but that will be down the road as My 4.7L Supercharged Stroker engine is next...
-
What he said... But if you can not tell which numbers are the teeth count then just count the teeth on the ring gear and then the same on the pinion gear and devide them...
