  1. This is completely True statement If your Paying someone to do the swap if your doing the labour then this statement is false... If You had a YJ or a TJ I would agree it is not worth the swap but When your talking an XJ or MJ There is nothing Hard or expensive about it since everything unbolts and is a simple Bolt in especially when you have a donor vehicle...
  2. The Computer is a Given But Yes the Computer would need to be changed as well...
  3. Yes You can swap Just the engnine bay harness as everything else will be the same....

Well the MJ Hitch is Designed to Work with a factory Bumper... It is a choice to not bolt it to the bumper but that is the way the MJ Hitch is designed to be installed which is why I said you should have a good condition bumper… Anyone can decide to not do anything they like but that does not mean that was how it was intended for use… OP.... Have you found a hitch Yet? I found this one Available but pricey... http://www.carpartsplanet.com/product.p ... t=0&page=1

    Reciever Hitch

There are No OE rear MJ bumpers available anymore unless there is a NOS one hideing in a Junkyard or such as I have access to Mopars Inventory and there is nothing available or I would have them here and I had to use a Fey aftermarket bumper which is a nice bumper and similar in design but in order to use it with the Reciever hitch you would need to make up a spacer plate to sandwhich between the bumper and the hitch...

Ahhh Well that sucks for sure Well I hope the one that was posted is in good shape... And I hope your factory bumper is in good shape as well because the hitch needs to bolt onto your factory step bumper...

They are nearly extinct for the comanche I had to make my own as I tried finding a New one but no Luck and the used one I did find was no good... Good luck finding a good one..
  9. I have Supercharged a 05 Jeep Rubicon and The internals can handle it fine However I would recommend you use a Ford Mustang/Thunderbird Supercoupe M90 rather then the Chevy M90 you are planning... You will have to increase fuel delivery and fuel pressure as well as the Fuel Injectors... You should also use the Newer 99+ intake manifold for better intake air flow... I have done it once and will be doing it again on my Stroker engine that will be going into my MJ to replace my slightly modified 4.0L I have now... The one off for the 05 was not installed in my first choice of locations but the customer wanted to keep his A/C so if you do not have A/C then I would mount it where the A/C bracket is which helps with Hood clearence.... I have pictures uploaded on my Facebook page so Look up Jeepman's offroad on Facebook...
  10. Rockauto is your best price....
  11. When I first did the driverside floor 7 years ago I did fab up the top brace but when I did the truck to the 97+ I bought Brand new Mopar seat braces which is what you see in the pic which is for the Newer seats... I can not say for sure that the top braces are 100% necesary but then again Jeep put them there for a reason so that is why I replaced it the first time...
  12. Check to make sure the e-brake pedal is all the way up before taking anything apart...
  13. I ordered the last 18 in the US and have them here I can sell you one or you can try to get your local dealer to order in the last 2 in CANADA which are in Quebec that is if they will sell them to your dealer as sometimes with an order as small as 2 for the dealer price of $8.00 each they may not feel they are worth the shipping and markup... The MOPAR part number is 55004888 (Tail gate side) The Box side (55004883) there is only 1 left in the world of MOPAR other then the 1 I have here and I would have the other as well but the ALEXANDER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP, INC ALBERTVILLE AL Dealer would not sell it to my Local dealer... I hope this info Helps you some... And Good luck
  14. Well I had a nice time in Montclair visiting Family as most of you stated there is nothing much to do but we made the best of it... I seen a first in NJ and that is Stop signs on the HWY at the end of an On ramp talk about not giving enough time to merge mind you even when there was no stop signs Most people stopped at the end of the on ramp rather then the using the on ramp merge lane.... Very Strange... Other wise everything else was pretty much the same as I am used to from NY state and a Nice scenic drive as well.... I hope to drive down again in the fall or winter, that should be fun... Thanks agin to all whom answered I really do apreciate your time...
  15. Thanks Guys... That is a Home brew Rear 4.5" lift and Front XJ 4.5" parts... I know this is an old thread, but what tank is that from? How did you address the XJ pump/tank issue? I'm considering doing the swap on mine. Thanks. There really is no XJ pump/tank issues because that is a 15 Gallon Dodge Dakota Tank and the XJ sender fits right in... The only issue is the sender is for a 20 gallon tank so the guage will read empty but there will be at least 5 gallons still in the bottom of the tank.. I will be at a later time swapping to a Brand new Dakota Sender/pump assembly and Adapting the harness so that It can plug right in and hopefully be more acurate... I added rollover vents and a filler tube vent tube and Had to make a some drop spacers to stop the tank from hitting the Bed floor so the Regulator is safe from dropping things in the bed and that acts as a stop so the stock MJ straps hold the tank up...
  16. This is a very similar Idea as I have for my Next MJ project... However I do not want a 4 door MJ I will be using 2 door XJ doors and make a Cab and a half with the 6 foot box all on a Mint Long box MJ platform and a V8... I look forward to your build page and If i get to mine I will start one aswell... Good luck
  17. Rough country has the best deal on them at $60.00 a pair
  18. Thanks Guys I Figured as much since My internet searching revealed nothing but I thought I would ask just in case someone who lives or lived in the area may now some local stuff that in not well known.. Oh if anyone see's my Canadian 89/98 Black MJ driving thru to NJ Give me a honk or a wave... You will notice it's me I think allthough I have a 12000LBS Mile Marker winch on the front now...
  19. The Brake line should be 3/16ths line...

  21. I will be in Montclair NJ this Thursday-Sunday and Just interested to know if there is anything that I should See while there, I am not likely to get time to go wheelin But I will have some time to site see if there is anything to see.... I am Not talking about NY so please do not say the statue of liberty or something like that as I have been to NY City Many times and there really is nothing there that I have not seen or know about but since I will be visiting some Family that Just moved there I am interested in knowing about that area... Thanks for any sugestions...
  22. I think one of your biggest problems is going to be that he accepted the Delivery without checking to see how many pieces where suposed to be there because if he did not accept the package knowing there were missing pieces then it would be covered 100% as the delivery would have got sent back to Rough country and then they would have filed the claim and re sent you a new shipment...
  23. I am not sure the Vent/Roll over valves are available anywhere but used or the dealer... Part Number J536 0058 Lots available thru your Local dealer for Around $18.00 each The Grommet is 52018823 And is around the same money...
  24. I own a small Offroad shop selling New and Used Parts, Mainly a Jeep shop...
  25. I have been pulled over for many things over my time and the one thing that seams to work is if you did something wrong and you know it or if you have anything outstanding just tell them before they pull it up in the computer since they are going to find out anyways and your likely to go with a warning... When I have been pulled over for something stupid or no reason at all I will always debate it with the cop especially if I already know the law regarding that issue because if knows you know what he is talking about then there is a good chance you will make him look bad in court when you fight it so they tend to leave you alone if know more about what he is tring to ticket you with... The funny thing is the last time I was pulled over the cop tried to say I was speeding and that he had to do 75 to catch me (i was doing 60KPH and he would have had to do 75 to make up the distance between us) and that I was "Stunt driving" we now have a BS law regarding stunt driving... I Was in my CJ on 35's with a calibrated speedo so When I pointed this out he was a little pissy and went to his car to only come back with a new attitude, Thing is I look younger then I am and I suspect he thought i was a kid and when he realized I was alot older then he thought I was he gave me back my paperwork and walked away...
