  1. Any Secret? Haven't looked real hard, but I got a set of the rebuilt Precision ones a while back, have the MJ in the garage this evening for the first time in a while and have been kind of neglecting it because of the Axle swap in the TJ. Thought maybe I'd toss them in after I get my kids to bed I still have the interior gutted and don't really have the leaks worked out. I'm pretty certain that the only way I'm going to get to the bottom of them is to pull the dash and get to the bare firewall on both sides. Maybe when/if I ever do an engine swap, I'll try to do it then. It's getting to be the "dry" season, so I have 4 or 5 months with very little rain anyhow. So I might toss the interior back in...
  2. The 88-90 Parts PDF I have lists the "RESERVOIR, Vacuum" for a 4.2L YJ/Wrangler with the round Ball (which looks like the one on my 89 MJ... Part # 5300 3408 and it appears to be a two port (or at least shows to vacuum lines going in... Although only shows the blimp for the EFI Comanches, which is odd...
  3. I thought I read that was "staged", although well before Photoshopping... I'll look for the discussion
  4. I was a "little" stuck...I buried both back wheels pretty good in some pretty loose sand, but it's didn't take a huge tug to get me out, So I could have probably dug a little sand, and gotten myself "un-stuck", but I took the lazy rough and got a little pull. There was another 16 year old kid in a full sized Dodge Ram 3500 that was buried to the frame and grenaded his pinons yokes on both axles....was pretty gnarly... I passed out long before I found out how they finally got him out.
  5. :clapping:
  6. I am Human . . . . . .mostly
  7. I got mine by searching for Commanche...
  8. Did you know New Belgium gives out free samples at the brewery.....I got some free samples today. Jealous much? I like hoppy beers too, but not bitter beers, you should try some New Belgium Mighty Arrow, its a pale ale has a nice hoppy flavor but is not bitter at all, made with amarillo hops, and its @#$% delicious. I don't think any of our local places have had the Mighty Arrow...we of course get Fat Tire, and sometimes see the Mothership Wit, 1554, Abbey and Trippel and Skinny Dip, but havn't see the Might Arrow locally here in Cali before... I enjoy a Fat Tire from time to time and the Skinny Dip if I want something light.
  9. Eleventy Billion X 2 :jump: LMAO that was hilarious........both times. Good thread, I've always wondered myself about everyone's age on here. And already it's younger than I thought. But hat's off to you yungin's that know a good thing when you see it with these sweet little rigs. Oh, and for me? I'm 6. In dog years. "Eleventy Billion" sober conversion (or at least less drunk) factor is about 34 years young (35 in June)....
  10. Probably Fat Tire, or something from New Belgium Brewery based on the Bottle, Label and OP in Colorado...
  11. Wet, Cold and Free is my Favorite...

  14. Ah Come on now... Just becuase I called you out for stealing tools, why did you have to go and bring my dog into the conversation :fool: :thwak: :fs2: ...
  15. Cool... can't offer much help, but in my crazy head fantasy world, I envision myself someday wanting to transplant the 4.0L engine and tranny from my 99 TJ into my MJ...but that would mean I was upgrading my TJ to a HEMI, so chances of me having an extra 15K to do that anytime soon is not great... Would be interested in seeing pics for sure... Wade
  16. Where I come from, "acquired" (in quotes and italics) means I stole em... I don't know about back East...
  17. ok the hub assembly.... yeah you could beat it untill your blue in the face, or when you take the three bolts out before you beat the crap out of it... just do this back the bolts out like 1/2 inch or less at a time and put an extension or block of wood or something inbetween the truck and the bolt; have a helper start the truck and SLOWLY CAREFULLY turn the wheel into the bolt the power of the pump will drive out the hub...... It works really slick, but be carefull the pump is powerful and can cause damage if your helper turns the wheele to far.... I know this because my helper was a very special person who couldn't follow instructions.... good luck.

  19. Do I even want to know a snog let alone hum it? snogging sounds dirty...
  20. Ah Heck no...I'm WAY too lazy...most of my tools are "disposable"...Some HF, some Craftsman stuff, but nothing that I would feel too bad about tossing and buying new if it got too bad to use. I have a set of sockets that I got from my father in law...some got sorta rusty... I just keep using em
  21. SCIENCE!!! http://www.instructables.com/id/Electro ... aka-Magic/
  22. OH MY GAWD... You have 4:56's, 33" tires, a 4:1, all behind a AUTO !?!?!?!?!? How do you stop that thing?????? The 4:1 was never recommended behind an auto, with its variable ratio aspect. That's what the 3.8 or 3.0:1 is for...  Its for CRAWLING guys. If your moving along at anything above a trot its NOT what you need. If your going fast enough for it to be whining, shift into 4hi. Because of the TJ's short wheel base and excellent traction from the locker, I find that even 4WD is rarely needed sans for the bolder fields and ledges. So your right, the 2WD lo sure is handi!! CW If I'm pointed downhill and want to stop in 4Lo, I acutally have to shift to Neutral.... it will literally shove the locked front tires on loose ground in 4LO with the Brakes Mashed (and I've upgraded the fronts with Vanco's and replaced the rear drums with the Currie Explorer Disc kit as well).... And it whines at 1-5mph when I'm not even touching the gas... But it sure crawls pretty well when I need it too Also my RPM's will be a little better when I get 35" tires... .On the FWY at 65-70 It's wrapping up 3300-3400 RPM's
  23. I have it in my TJ....it's too low really with 4.56 Gears on 33" tires with my 3spd Auto... I find myself having to pop out of 4Lo whenever I'm between even moderately hard stuff...nice for steep long declines....I just idle down and barely have to touch the brekes.... might be better when I move up to 35" tires... It's also pretty noisy and whines pretty good in 4Lo... I have 2Lo as well...can't say I've ever used it yet, but had it done when the Tcase was opened up.
  24. My "grass" is nicer...is that a pure Golden? We were told ours is a Golden Lab Mix, but I don't really know...we are going to see our new vet on Friday, so we will see what they think....
