BLHTAZ is near Orlando I think...

My Kids (recently turned 4) have been bugging me pretty much since they could talk for a puppy. I've been VERY resistant in the past and always said that we wouldn't even talk about a dog until they were old enough to take care of it. I understand that is probably never going to happen and I'm going end up doing most of the work. For some reason, I'm warming up to the idea a little more recently, so am kind of starting the process of thinking about breeds and sizes and all of that stuff. I haven't personally owned a dog (any animal actually) as an adult living on my own. My folks always had at least one dog and a cat or two when I was growing up. So far, I am thinking about Small/Medium sized dogs...I really like Golder Retrievers and Yellow Labs (and similar), but I think they are both bigger than what I'm thinking... we have yard, not huge, and I expect the dog to be mostly an indoor/house dog. A Cocker Spaniel is one alternative. I don't know that I care (or really understand the importance of) having a pure-bred with AKC papers and all of that. I just want a nice family dog that is going to be healthy, it's not going to the Westminster Dog Show or anything... I've looked at the animal rescue websites and SPCA and I'm OK with adopting that way, but I want a puppy and not a adult. I'm also OK with paying $$$ to get something I want too... I'm not hardcore for or against acquiring an animal either way. So does anyone have any suggestions, or want to talk me out of it... Please discuss... Wade

New poster and a couple questions!
SuperWade2 replied to Jess's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Welcome Jess...good to see another NorCal Wheeler (I'm more central coast actually, but whose counting)... As far as shocks, I got these for my MJ (stock height and now 2" lift) and they seem pretty good... Monroe 37026 Sensa-Trac Truck Shock Absorber http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C53QTA Monroe 37029 Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C53QSG Not sure of the price range you are looking for for bumpers... Fronts are pretty easy to come by since the XJ Cherokee bumpers work... rears are little more effort to find... I like the JCROffroad, ProtoFab setups .... Many guys are "cheap" (aka know how to weld) and will make their own...there are lots of bumper threads on here... Enjoy! Wade -

Is that the Currectlync? That is what I am running on my MJ and I like it so far! (Valentine's Day gift). Yup... Pretty beefy stuff... This pic was before my brake swap (Vanco) and eventually I'd like to move the Tie Rod over the knuckle on the Driver side... My Angles between the Drag Link and Trac bar still aren't 100% dialed in becuase of the Rubicon Express Drop Bracket and the Drop Pitman arm that came with my lift... the Bump Steer is minimal and other than finding a DPA that is dropped a little less than the one RE give me, or getting a whole new Trac Bar, I'm pretty much set...

I like the Currie on my TJ...

I'm not gonna argue, but I do see rust on the TRE showing it was cracked. I also have a hard time believing that a wheel would break like that without something causing the damage (aka a rollover). The driver said he lost control as something failed in the front suspension, causing him to hit the bank, and rollover. The broken rim was just a byproduct of the accident. I just can not see a wheel breaking like that just by driving down the road. Also seeing that the tierod was bent I have to think that something suspension wise failed as if your tire just fell off I can't see it bending the tierod like that. That sounded like arguing .... :brows:

I got that same lift on my TJ... I don't like the look of that Belly Skid Mounting Side part all folded in.... Yikes... But use Currie stuff up front and nothing Rusty's on either of my Jeeps...

Hydro locked the jeep today!
SuperWade2 replied to MiNi Beast's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Now that's some smart thinking there Mini-B... cept, I don't know how old your kids are, but with Two 4 year olds, there is room for them and us and that's about it...no cooler, no nothing pretty much....a few tools in the little space behind the back seat, but far from "kid-friendly"... Forget about a camping trip with JUST the TJ with the Kids...maybe with a roof and/or cargo rack on the spare tire, but even then it would be minimal...maybe if you towed one of those $8,000 offroad camping trailer's that dude was pimping over here the other day you'd be OK... -

Yah that's it...I just wanted to find the pic of my TJ...I searched threads for like an hour...I found nothing... Wade -
I'm looking for the thread where someone was chopping MJ's and my green TJ with the big wheels and shrinking everything else so they looked like old school Stomper Toys... Anyone remember that or what the thread was called...search turned up zippo (which is not uncommon)... Wade

Lower shifter boot.
SuperWade2 replied to watchamakalit's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not sure if they have em in stock, but ChryslerPartsdirect.com has it listed for just under $20+S/H http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/ "Part number 52078970 was superseded by part number 52078970AC." I'm still waiting for my Cowl Seal from them, but have used them before in the past... Wade -

Welcome Robert... Where about's on the Left Coast you located? You have bench or bucket seats...I swapped my Bench for buckets at added a Cherokee full console that I got from one of the guys on here...There is a screw on holder that goes above where the ebreak handle would be (on a Cherokee)...Honestly it's not great...more like a place to set the cup, but I still end up holding it there if I'm going around a corer or over bumps.
