MJ Wheel Stance WITH PICS WAHOO!
SuperWade2 replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hey Don... I'm getting a pair of the Spidertrax spacers for my Rear End also... MY 29x9.50's on my Gambler Rims already have some "rubbing" on the frame on the driver side. There is only about 1/2"-3/4" gap, max between the top of my tire now and the frame. I'm guessing because of my 5.5" Backspacing on those TJ Gambler Rim's I'm running. I have 31x10.5's on order to get installed later this week or next, but I figured it would be TOO close otherwise. My rear tires are tucked way in the flares now, and I think the 1.25" will help me not rub in the back with the bigger tires and "even" things out. like they did for you. Since I run 4 of them (actually 5 since I needed one to get the spare mounted on my rear tire carrier) on my TJ, having a couple extra in the event of a failure wouldn't be a horrible thing either...just another $100 that I didn't really need to spend. Any update after having them on for a little while now? SW2 -

I don't have any answers...but would make a good write up thread... Things to look for at the JY...or things you probably should get even if you don't really need it yourself kind of checklist for us JY newbies to take with us when we go... I remember looking up specs for something on my Blackberry (in the rain) last time I went a few months ago... SW2

i just about pee'd myself when I saw the asking price... Once of the nicer stocker's that I've seen...but even in that condition, no way, now how is it worth 1/2 of that...1/3 maybe...

Yah, I don't hang out much over there... a quick browse, but NEVER posting any ?'s or anything... There are some SICK custom rigs so I like to see some of the custom stuff that I'll never be able to do.

Will the OEM Draglink and Tie Rod from my 99 TJ D30 bolt right onto the MJ D30? Some of the ends of my MJ steering stuff are pretty wore out and the TJ stuff is just sitting on the shelf in the garage since upgrading to the Currie setup.

Yah, thats a $1500-$2000 truck MAX MAX MAX... even here out west...

Probably been posted before, but there are some sick rigs posted over there... I know some of our guys have their pics in there (Pete, Wade #1 and some others)... http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=587186

How much should I extend my MJ cab???
SuperWade2 replied to TNT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I like the Blue one better than the green one... just my .02's -
I think this is a stop gap thing to be able to run bigger tires without worrying about getting up and down the street... I have a "long-term" plan than involves swapping my ARB'ed 4.56 Chromo shafted D30/D44 from my TJ into my MJ when I get the $$$ for some Hi-Pinion ProRock 60's for the TJ... Since that is a ways off, I'd like something that would allow the MJ to take on some basic trails, but the TJ is my primary rig for offroad. So I think the Tru-Trac in the Back will be fine for now...He wanted another $200 for the Power-Lock, which I don't think I'd see the difference right now.

That X-Cab Long Box looks Dangerous...Like bad news... -
:agree:  Jump froggy, jump... :clapping: ...and I got my taxes done last night and looks like I'll be able to do this regear and get my new tires with the little $$$ the gov't owes me. Sw2

It looks like a Guy in my club is going to help me out... He's got a nice pair of 4.10 D30/D44 Gears, Carriers, Install Kits and a True-Trac for the back and he will do the install... He's out of work, so looking to make a little extra scratch on the side. He said he's done over 50 gear installs without issue, and I think many of the guys in the club are running diffs he setup for for them. He said he had a D44 Power-Loc, but would be a little extra $... don't know enough about the limited slips to make an educated guess, but the less expensive option sounded better to me. Something in the $500 range for everything installed it looks like...didn't sound horrible to me and will also help a Wheeler friend out who is out of work. Sw2

As long as people don't get pissy if someone drops an occasional question about another type... I know I've asked TJ questions before, and while the responses are typically few, I'd rather ask guys on here that might know before going over to JeepForum or JeepsUnlimited...

How about this link to Dana... http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?hvtss~deabill~5~ Looks like you can search by the Bill of Material # that's stamped on the tube (the # that Adam published) and get the Ratio... You can also search by Make/Model... It looks like our MJ's are listed as "XJ Pickup, XJ Trucks or XJ METRIC TON TRUCK, XJ HD TRUCK" expect for 1990-1990.5 where they list an MJ Pickup

Yah, there was a couple "41 11", and these were a D44 gearset... This would be for my REAR Dana 44... I want to get 4.09/4.10/4.11's anyhow, so if these are 3.73's they won't do me much good... well let me know if there's some way for me to get a hold of them. I don't have much money, but really would like to get to 3.73's in the 3800, and I've got a new dana 30 with 3.73's already prepped for it. I would need the carrier too though... I'll find out...the guy said I could have em if I was going to use em kind of deal, but it wasn't like a "here they are yours" kind of deal. Shipping would be killer I'd bet unless I could get em in a flat rate box...the box weighted about 30 lbs

Can you determine the ratio of a R&P set based on the Numbers stamped on the side? A friend has a real nice set of gears from a D44 (2001 TJ X Model he believes) with Trac-Loc, but he is not sure what Ratio they are...he said I could have em if I could use em. (These are out of the Diff, which is long gone). The #'s on the side of the things were Dana 3202 D1 41 11 V1 L927 44515 042700 D18515 P8 L909 4111 If these don't mean anything, how else might I be able to tell? Sw2
