I might give this a shot... Mines not really ripped or anything, just dirty and kind of smelly... I can borrow a power washer from a friend... I'll give it a couple scrubs with the power washer and some scrubbing and some serious dry time and we'll see what she looks like before I spend $150+ for something that might not fit that well anyhow... And then I still have to find the water intrusion spots... I see a little more rust behind the Fuse box under the driver side, so I will start there, although the pass. side was significantly "wetter"... Here it is now, 1/2 dry in most places...

Meh on the Lindt's.... I've had Chocolate in about 15 different countries, including the ones that mvusse mentioned... Honestly some of the BEST I've had was in New Zealand oddly enough, and I prefer a Box of good ole' See's candies over just about everything else I've ever eaten... Wade

I also had to replace my carpet because of a water leak. Bought the ACC plush cut pile without the mass backing from the same place and wasn't very impressed. Its thinner than the oem and the driver's foot pad is smaller. Its not pre-cut so you'll have to cut out holes for the shifter, seat bolts, etc. and trim along the edges. At least being thin helps here, it cuts easily enough with a sharp knife or scissors. The fit is ok, the biggest problem i have is that it's baggy around the front of the tranny hump. That's disappointing... I think the place that JT linked is something different than the ACC stuff, but I could be wrong...

Debating Vinyl vs. Carpet right now (my Orig carpet is NOT going back in either way... Serious wet FUNK going on)... it looks like the ACC brand is popular (Motion Offorad sells, RockAuto a little cheaper, etc, etc)... I'm thinking Vinyl might hold up better long term, but it's not like I live where it snows, but does rain, but don't see much mud, so unless I can't find my Water intrusion point, the Carpet might look more OEM, but ???

I just drove the MJ for the first time in a few days after some fairly significant rain... I noticed the entire passenger side floorboard was pretty much one big puddle...Some on the driver side as well... Windows Up, didn't see any water "drippage" at least anything obvious... I was parted on an include, nose up, in my driveway... Pulled the Pass. Bucket out and started to shopvac the water up... So far i've sucked more than 2 gallons from the carpet and pad and things are still pretty wet... just on the pass side, and the floor board is muddy as heck... Some rust, but nothing like what some guys have posted pics of... Guess I should take the carpet all the way out and clean everything and hit the rust spots before they get bad... The carpet is pretty nasty too...might be time to get a replacement from somewhere (recommendations)... Or at least get this one dry and cleaned up... Bad timing since the rear brakes on my TJ are hurting something fierce after this last snow trip and think some new stuff is going to be required there too. SW2

Thanks WS... It is pretty slow...since I've been tossing most of my $$$ into my TJ, the MJ is, and likely will always be 2nd fiddle... I just have 2" Spacers up front and the Chebby drops in the back... Long term I'd like to get a Rubicon Express SuperFlex Kit up front and some Hell Creek 3" Springs for the back...This probably won't happen until after I do something about the engine, either a swap, rebuild, stroker, or something... I don't know when that will happen, maybe not until I actually grenade this 4.0L. I'm having the 4.10 Re-Gear done either this week or next, and we will see how things progress... I'd like to still do the Line-X in the Bed and a Roll Bar, but otherwise am pretty happy from where it started when I got it until now.

Wow that looks nice. The rim & tire combo is perfect. What is your first impressions of the MTZ's? Running the same Wheel/Tire combo on the TJ as well... just 33x12.5 instead of 31x10.5 on the MJ... I've run 33x12.5 MTZ's on my TJ now for a couple years and REALLY like them in everything I have used them in (Mud, Rock, Sand and Snow) and for a DD... I don't know how long they will last...seems to be a "softer" rubber... I've only got about 6K on my TJ tires and Might have another 25-30K or so... When I go up to 35" I'll look at MTZ's first unless there is something newer out there. But on the TJ, quiet "enough" on the road, and never been disappointed off... was running 6-8PSI all weekend in the snow and have run that in the rocks/mud and not yet busted a bead, so other than being kind of pricey, I like the looks and ability so far. Wheeling today was AWESOME... the lead rig going down the trail is a Rubicon on 38's and about a 8" lift (Dynatrac Prorock 60's, etc, etc)...he said the snow he was moving was coming up over the top of his hood... Just Awesome... going out again somewhere tomorrow.. :needpics:

NEW old Stock in a box would not go for anywhere near $350 (I think)...

We got about another foot overnight... I'm not worried about the Jeep... I'm worried about getting my 2WD Tahoe pulling a Flatbed trailer out of here.... That should be fun...

I don't know how you dudes in about 40 other states deal with Snow every year for multiple months of the year... I grew up with the stuff (Nebraska), but have been in California now for 10+ years and I forget... We are up in the mountains to do a snow run with my club @ Twain Harte, CA, in the Sierra's... we came up a day early and glad we did...we towed the TJ behind my Chevy Tahoe (which is barely enough)...we had no problems, but about 7 am today it just started dumping snow... we got about 14" between 7am and Noon..was just crazy snowing... The roads were all closed, they were making RV's and 4x4's put on chains ($250 fine if you are not at least 'carrying" chains)... We have a cabin, so hung out, played in the snow the kids, etc. We are wheeling tomorrow, so will be interesting to see how that goes... Luckily I have plenty of food and beer if we get snowed it for a good while! This was fairly early on before it really started dumping...

MJ Wheel Stance WITH PICS WAHOO!
SuperWade2 replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hey Wade; I'm likin' them. Have been hauling 1000 lb. + tile loads the last month or so redoing our house bathrooms and the the spacers really help reduce the body roll w. a full load. I did have some brake squealing shortly after I installed them, but it turned out to be the four year old front disk pads. I replaced them w. non-metallic pads, had the front rotors turned and all is well. Yeah, if you've got frame rubbing now w. 29" tires and your 5.5" BS, 31s will be worse. How wide are your Gambler wheels? You really should have an 8" wide rim w. 31" tires I think. I never had rubbing with my 31s on the 4.5" BS 8" wide Ravine wheels, but the clearance around the rear disk brake caliper was only maybe 1/4"; a bit tight. So the spacers gave me plenty of clearance there, and the tires sit almost square in the flares and the handling is better. Yeah, I'm glad I got them. Yah the Gamblers are 15x8" with 5.5" BS...so I will be closer to 4.25" BS with the spacers, so should be pretty well set...
