  1. We decided to wait until next before we went to go actually see any dogs... I'm going to Pismo to Wheel this weekend and the Wife is going to LA with her Sis to visit my niece. We started looking at the rescue groups and such in the area online and on Petfinder.Com... I don't really still know what "breed" we want. I don't know that we will go with a set idea. I think we'd like something Small/Medium Sized and good with kids, but otherwise, not real picky... There was a Cocker/something mix at a rescue event in San Jose that looked really cute (just saw online), but @ $500 without shots or spayed or microchipped or anything, it sounded a little high. I don't mind the Few Hundred if all that other stuff has already been done.
  2. Mine are in there...not in "horrible" shape, but there are gaps between seal and the metal... Might be a possibility on the Pass side, the water is way back here (see red box), with nothing wet between there and the firewall Drivers side water is further up, under the pedals, so I'm thinking water through the firewall still is a probability
  3. Thanks, I'll take a look... I have to go buy some baby powder too... you'd think with kids I'd have some...but I guess not... It this the part you are talking about? http://www.teamgrandwagoneer.com/cgi-bi ... d=Yes&nh=3
  4. I'm not lost at all. Just had a little too much to drink, passed out on a tan couch that wasn't ours. Got thrown in a shipping container, and spent the better part of winter trying to get out of the rural mountains of Mongolia with no money, flip flops on ma feet, and an extremely small understanding of japanese. Wow dude...I thought you were LONG gone...
  5. Was thinking about posting a thread asking if anyone had heard from ya...was hoping nothing "bad" happened... No internet, not great... but not "BAD"... Wade
  6. If I understood exactly what that meant... Just throw baby powder everywhere? I know there is still some coming from behind the fuse box, but ... ...AND baby powder = white... interior = white... //just an observation...
  7. Well, at the rate I'm going, I may never put the carpet in again... Rained pretty good last night, truck was on the street (on level ground), go out to check the floor to make sure it's dry before I put everything back in...and there is is probably a liquid cup or more of water on the driver side and some on the pass side, which is further back and to the side, so i suspect possibly door seal or windshield, although I don't see or feel anything damp anywhere up top where it "should" be dripping down based on the water location. Replaced the Hood Cowl Sear and RTV'ed everything I could reach inside and out...I guess I get to start ripping stuff off to seal it better (or leave the carpet out and leave a towel in the truck to wipe up the wet floors... What a pain in the butt... :headpop: Sw2
  8. I just can't even begin to imagine how a Hydro-Lock situation happened there... :shake:
  9. I guess I get rust free floor pans and frames and you get a better selection at the Pik-n-Pull :dunno:
  10. I think J&W wreckers in Sacramento buys every Jeep newer than 1990 and older than 1986in NorCal, so the local yards get all of the junk XJ's between there and that's pretty much it...
  11. As if they are just laying arround at the Pik-n-Pulls...I've never seen one in the JY in the 10 or so trips that i've been to 4 or 5 local JY's...
  12. Everyone should pull the carpet and check. I've read that somewhere...hmm...hmm.. Big Red Letters on someones signature I think...
  13. Yeah, and make sure you spray it down with some Magnesium Chloride like most of the northeastern states do. Since Wade doesn't experience snow and ice, he won't get the effect of the MagChl acting as a preventative de-icer but at least he'll get the other characteristic of the stuff............rust ACCELERATOR! Ask me how I know.......... :brows: I lived in Nebraska for 25 years... I know about snow and ice.... I was just smart enough to leave...
  14. Guess you purchased this guy after you left Nebraska? How long have you had it Wade? Looks great! :D I've never pulled my carpet.............VA truck............maybe I should, no? Dec 2007...Did the carfax thing and the MJ always lived within a couple hours of where I'm at now...I think it sat for a while too...per the carfax records, it had like 150K the first 4 years and then only another 55K the next 14 when I bought it...
  15. Dude that stinks... I wish you the best... I think we have at least another round of layoffs coming and I'm getting pretty nervous...
  16. This is even prettier in "real life" than it looks here... gotta love Cali trucks....I just wanted to share... Getting ready to reinstall everything, maybe this weekend...
  17. There are a couple Australian Shepherd, Shepherd [Mix] puppies in San Jose... I was surprised that most of the rescue/adoption places still want $250-$400 "Donation" in order to adopt the dog...even the SPCA wants $200...?
  18. Almost enough for a Central Coast ComancheClub "PowWow"... Ok maybe that's going a little far...
  19. IMHO a lot more of the rusted floor syndrome is the result of water leaks accumulating under the carpet than due to corrosion of the floor panel from the outside. Oh Yah, I guess I have me some of that...
  20. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Might be a good time to cut out any floor metal that has rusted through, patch weld, seal, and THEN POR-15/Herculine the floor ;) Sorry, guess I don't think about those kinds of things since we don't have much rust, and my floors are nearly as nice as the day they rolled off the production line... :D
  21. Good time to POR15 or Herculine the floor?
  22. You missed the meeting...was 2nite... 3rd Thurs of every month... Yah, we are members at the Aquarium and go quite a bit...
  23. I think a couple guys from my club might be down there... I have some quality family time already lined up...actually going to be headed down your way to the aquarium with the family... Going to Pismo the following weekend...you'd be welcome to come with the group! Wade
  24. Thanks for the advice guys.... I wish I could find a mix that was Golden Retriever, but smaller...I know they have a Cocker Retriver mix and some are cute and some are fugly as all get out... I think we could have a larger Dog, and I'm not dead set against it... Our house is pretty good sized (~3000 sq ft), but the back yard is only medium sized I would say...There is a school/park about 2 blocks away where a lot of people their dogs to really run em, and there is another dog park not too far away either...and I think another one in the planning phase walking distance from home. My sister-in-law has a Taco Bell dog that kind of annoys me, so maybe a Medium/Medium Large dog might be a better fit... I guess we watch the SPCA and rescue sites...I think I just want a puppy that my kids can work with from small and grow up with them....Many of the dogs I see on the SPCA site are older more mature dogs. Wade
  25. Replaced the old flat Cowl to Hood Seal with a new OEM one... Smeared Silicon RTV over the spots on the firewall that I think I was getting water and filled my Cowl Area with the hose to make sure water was running down where it should be draining... Will do another heavy water test on my inclined driveway this weekend before I goto the trouble of reinstalling the entire interior.
