  1. A couple of guys from my club and I might be heading over to Hollister Hills on Saturday to go play. Won't have the MJ, but if any of the Central Coast Cali guys wanted to head over. Not sure on time, but usually 9-10ish at the Obstacle course is where we meet.
  2. Once I can Afford my Walker Evan's or Poison Spider Bead Locks with the 'Proper' backspacing I'll get rid of em also...until then I have no worries...I've talked to the guys at Spidertrax and the failure percentage is minuscule...Chances are better of getting hit by lightning (my exaggerated analogy, not theirs). To each their own
  3. Wheel spacers are definitely NOT your answer. Putting a wheel spacer that thick in there would just make them rub on hte body when you turn instead of the control arm...outside of the fact that it would be terribly dangerous. While maybe not the answer in this particular situation, I strongly disagree that a good quality 1.25" spacer (Spidertrax) is at all "Dangerous" given proper install (with Locktite and Proper Torque and torque check). I've run them for thousands of miles (both on and offroad) on my TJ with ZERO issues and now have a set on the back of my MJ so my 31's wouldn't rub on the frame (with the OEM Gamblers with 5.5" BS). I can't speak to the "joe-schmoe" ebay knockoff spacers, but I trust my safety and the safety of my kids on the Spidertrax spacers...

  5. I knew I could count on you for support, JT...
  6. tire size != axle ratio's (which is what the OP asked about) :dunno:
  7. Only if you don't want to use your 4WD... a couple "point" difference is OK (i.e. 4.09/4.10/4.11 would be OK) If they don't "match", no 4WD.
  8. Big Jump between 500 and 5000... :dunno:  Oh yah, that was the "Category created for Pat", right?
  9. Big Jump between 500 and 5000... :dunno:
  10. The SW is a pretty big area don't think people realize that Cali is as big as it is... So I guess SW Region could/should include California/Arizona/New Mexico/Nevada? Am I missing anyone? Utah, Texas? Those south of the border too I assume since I don't think Pete created a "International Forum"... So I don't think "meet and greets" are real likely for someone to drive 15 hours from AZ to NorCal, but who knows. I'm in the Central Coast region of Cali, south of San Jose, basically on the North edge of the Monterey Bay. Hollister Hills is about an Hour from here (and my "normal wheeling spot when I get to go", and the Rubicon Trail is about 4ish (although I've yet to make it up there). Anyone Else? Sw2
  11. Yah maybe, I got that extension thing, but still...don't you have to actually "patch" the rust holes before the POR or does it fill and harden and all of that stuff?
  12. It's WAY under the dash and there is virtually zero access thru the cowl area up top (nor can I acually see the rust from the top cowl area), so without gutting everything (Dash, Fuse Box, E-Brake pedal, etc, etc,) I can't really even get a hand up to where the rust is much less grinder/sandpaper/POR-15 If you heard it or drove it, you would know why... the engine makes a diesel sound like a Prius on Battery power...and the trans will shift into gear some of the time and when it does, I can literally feel the tranny "shudder"... even more so since I havn't had an interior in it for months, there are times it feels/sounds like the transmission is going to pop up thru the floorboads and sit next to me where the passenger seat should be.
  13. I don't really know what it is, but I'm sort of losing interest in my MJ, or at least it feels that way. I don't really know if that is what it is or not... I don't really feel like doing anything with it, and don't really enjoy driving it... if my TJ weren't still under repair from my front Axle swap, I don't think the MJ would be driven at all. I honestly don't ever see myself picking the MJ to take on a wheeling trip over my TJ which I've done so much work too and have a bunch more stuff planned. Money is tighter now than ever and I can't see myself spending much extra $$$ on the MJ anymore when there are things I want and need on the TJ. There's rust in that cowl area that I don't really feel like fixing (or know how to fix actually, even though it's not *that* bad), the engine or tranny is going to go at some point in the not too distant future, and I can't see myself ever having the ability, time, energy, space, desire or money to pull off an engine swap. I'd honestly rather have another vehicle that I could actually drive my kids around in if I had too while the TJ is down, but I can't really see having 4 vehicles. I've been watching Craigslist for a late 90's early 00's 4-Door Grand Prix GTP... I had 2Dr. 97 GT that I really enjoyed, drove for 7 years and traded in on the family "Tahoe", but I don't know... Maybe it's a phase and I'll get past it and get the bug again... Since the TJ has been in more parts than not over the past few months, I guess I still need the MJ, although nothing more than the 3 mile round trip to work. :dunno: SW2
  14. at least there is a Jeep in the driveway...
  15. What's it doing (or not doing) JT?
  16. Wish I had a HF closer than an hour away...
  17. Thanks Pete... A quick Google turned this up... Possibly an add-on that would do what I'm looking for. http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5&t=599639
  18. Is there an option to include the text of a message reply in the email that gets sent to me ? So instead of just a message that says someone replied to a thread I'm subscribed to with a link, it also includes the message itself (no images or anything, just text)...Not sure if PHPBB does this or not... I know vBulletin does and JeepForum has that enabled. Often faster so i don't have to go hit the link and web-page every time to read a reply... SW2
  19. I think I had to use IE...not sure if it's popup or adblocked or something with Firefox... Not sure
  20. You can put in "Alerts" for any Keywords you want, tell it to check as often as you want it it will pop up when new stuff comes up. You select which Craigslist geographical area or state (or the whole world) that you want to search and it just goes to town. Can setup email alerts and a RSS feed, sort by price, location, etc...Pulls up the CL add and you can reply from within the app.. I just found 275 Comanches (including an $11K in in Ark... http://fayar.craigslist.org/cto/1160056534.html) But for you Craigslist Junkies, I think it's pretty slick... Windows install (not just web-based). http://www.motiont.com/craigslistreader.aspx http://lifehacker.com/5157046/craigslis ... craigslist Sw2
  21. Just another sign of the declining times we live in Taz. Sigh............. BUT, all is not lost. I just got notification of a one-time windfall cash payment coming to me this month under Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This payment is for a grand total of 250.00 dineros, TAX FREE!! What am I going to do with all that money? What a sad freeking joke............. I thought only "old people" qualified for the $250 thing...oh wait....never mind...
