  1. Well, I'm going to go look to see what the guy in my club has, and will let you know if I don't find something I can use.
  2. There are guys in my club with Welders/Experience that I could goto for help... I was looking at some of the "pre-fab" Trusses out there by a few vendors and some get pretty $$$ I'm still trying to decide if I want to go "Cheap" and get a Lo Pinion TJ Axle and not have to switch R/P, or get the Free Hi Pinion Axle and spend the $$$ on the new R&P... I think I should probably truss either way... And will obviously need a new tie rod as well... Wade go hp and you won't regret it. plus idk how long you've been running your current gears, but the longer they've run the more they've worn and the harder it is to set the gears in a new axle, so it stands to make sense that it's time to upgrade. anyways, I owe you and I will be trussing my hp30 this week so if you wish I will make a second truss and also make you some LCA axle-side bracket skids/reinforcements that you will just have to weld on or have welded on. the truss would be two walls made of 1/4" diamond plate that's welded back to back with a ridge on top to cap them off, and will go between the UCA mounts and then one shorty for the axle side. I've got a disco 30 so I'll leave a bit of extra material on the pass. side UCA bracket which you will be able to grind down to fit (if they don't fit perfectly in...they will be close to perfect). I can even plasma cut your name in as SWII if you wish. -Pat Let me decide for sure what i'm going to do before you go plasma cutting my name into anything.... Maybe I'll just pull the D30 from my MJ and leave it on blocks for a while and won't engage 4wd on the TJ since the R&P would be different

  4. :needpics: :brows: Hard to get pics when I'm 6' in the Air, in the rig.... I don't think any of the people I was with got pics of the "big hit" But I had a great time all weekend... I had already tweaked the tie rod a little bit on Saturday, so I said "f' It" and hit one big hill a little faster than I should have (about 50)...that's the one that bent the tie rod more, bent the axle tubes and tweaked both my front fenders (just a little). Can anyone tell me what years XJ's had Low vs Hi Pinon and if I'm going to need to change the coil buckets or shock/control arm mounts to get it on my TJ? I have a guy in the club that said he's got a pile of housings, mostly from XJ's that I could take whatever I want for free. Wade i think 99 was when XJ's started getting lp dana 30s. and I'm fairly certain that any XJ front axle will bolt right into a TJ. Cool...so the guy I'm going to go see has mostly stuff pre-99 I think (but post vacuum disco, like 93-95ish), so I think his will be Hi Pinion...so like Pat suggested, I could get a new Reverse R&P and "upgrade" my stuff from the Lo to Hi and try to find (or get someone to make me) a truss
  5. I figured if I broke it, I always have a leaky, poorly running MJ to use as my DD until I can get it fixed...

  7. One other one that I took earlier today a little more zoomed in...
  8. I did get stuck once...and had to get a yank...This was "pre-axle bending"
  9. Yeah, The 180mile drive home was interesting... (although not really as bad as I was expecting)
  10. Crap I hope not, bumper costs more than a replacement axle... But yah, it's a little camera goofy, but I think the impact was all below the bumper... I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow... sw2
  11. Yeah but this is the truck in question.... Thats one expensive bicycle. :clapping: Hey glundblad maybe you should post a pic of your truck everytime you post a question, so everyone understands why you're so picky. Many "nice" rides in my local bike shop start about $5K and go up... so... :dunno There are a dozen or more that go between $7-$10...
  12. While maybe my usage was "excessive", the Currie Tie Rod didn't hold up as well as I had hoped... Although you can't see it, I also tweaked both of a my front fenders a little bit from the hard stuff (or landing, I'm not 100% sure)... Wade
  13. Only if it's used and beat up from running steel line... I pulled the wire off and installed the synthetic day 1 and make sure there are no rough spots on the rollers...they make replacements out of Derlin (sp), that I could replace the rollers with, but mine are still in good shape and keep my eye when doing any pulls off center...
  14. One of them isn't that it's not a MJ, because it's my TJ, and this is Pub and not tech... I'll give you one hint beyond the obvious, and a little hard to see in the pic...the axle tube is smiling a litte bit... I'm thinking a couple options... $ - Get a cheap Lo Pinion D30 swap my 30Spline Chromo Shafts and ARB Locker into that... maybe truss it to try to prevent future bendys, replace Tie-Rod $$$ - Sell the Shafts/Gears/Locker - Buy a Dana44 Front end and regear add locker, etc $$$$ - Pull the Shafts and Locker, Install into my MJ (Would have to get reverse cut R&P, but would the same ARB Locker work, I think so), Buy a Dana44 Front end and regear add locker, etc $$$$$$$ - Buy a DynaTrack Pro-Rock 60 Hi Pinion and call it a day (and then either sell or MJ the stuff in it now)
  15. My driver side bolt was stuck pretty good back going back in...I was afraid of busting the bolt...it's only about 1/2 way in now... Wait... you put the Torx bold back in??? WHY? Run down to the hardware store and get a new hex bolt! After the ordeal getting those stupid things out I will never, ever put one back in. The Torx Head wasn't the problem....It was the threads...I hope I wasn't crossthreading and hosing up the hole...
  16. Does anyone sell that type of thing Pre-Wired... like plug and play wiring harness upgrade?
  17. My driver side bolt was stuck pretty good back going back in...I was afraid of busting the bolt...it's only about 1/2 way in now...
  18. Other than the plastic jacket peeling off, my RE Stainless lines have been just fine...
  19. What's the best way to get in here... there is a little rust along the seam @ the Left arrow...as you can see I tried to RTV around the Fuse Block Plug, but think water is still coming in here...Can I disconnect the plug and then unscrew the fuse box from the inside to get better access to the edge to seal up?
  20. I'm right here :D And I was trying to find the picture what the jack storage should look like :hmm: No findie :( But......I got the parts :D I'm still looking for the Wingbolt to hold everything down if you have any extras...
  21. Did you have the lines off at all? Sounds like possibly a bleeding issue...No Pressure, poor pressure, could be air in lines...
  22. Did you have the lines off at all? Sounds like possibly a bleeding issue...
  23. :agree: ...and one whose interior cab has no water leaks...
