  1. I'm planning on going 4.5" I just got my 4.5" leaf packs from hellcreek and I already have some RE upper control arms for a 4.5" lift. I need to order some lower adjustables, coil springs, HD trac bar and mount, and some disconnects.
  2. I would try some of the expandable insulation foam stuff. The only problem is alot of them retain water.
  3. I think up til 90 will have the same spline count but i am not positive. Someone will LMK if i am wrong
  4. I don't think its needed as most of our trucks probally lost it long ago. I am thinking of reoplacing mine because my engine runs cold. There is a place that sells them new for a decent price. Fiatslug got one and can tell you the website.
  5. Will these fit on a rustys air tube? I'm at work and can't measure right now.
  6. Does anyone know if they will give kit prices if you piece together your own kit? I have sent them 2 emails and plan to call them tomorrow. But wanted to know if anyone had done this?
  7. How long have you had the Moogs?? And how do you pronounce "Moog"? Is it Moo-g like a moo cow and add a gah Or Mow-g like mow the grass and then ugh Or Mah-g Like I'm telling mah and add gah ???? ? It really bothers me not knowing.. :hmm: I always thought it was pronounced the same as the old Boston Bruins goalie Andy Moog. Like Moe with a gah
  8. I would check the IAC like jt said; but since it went away without a thermo you may be correct on the coolant temp sensor too. I would clean the iac first and if that don't fix it i would change the temp sensor since they are pretty cheap. The oil light flickering makes me think you have a Fram oil filter. If so, change with a non-fram filter and that problem should disappear.
  9. Yes, motion is correct. The ones that have the high sides to retain the mud/water are called floor "liners" and the regular ones are called "mats"
  10. Since the floor brackets are the same for buckets or a bench they should fit fine.
  11. Do you have a link to the write up? Are you talking about just grinding down one edge of the round part of the rod? or are you talking about the sleeve/spacer thing I mentioned.
  12. I can't speak on those but after alot of reading I decided to spend the cash and go with Moogs. Right now I have New Moog uppers and lowers, spicer u-joints, and new Timken hubs waiting to get installed. Then its on to the lift.
  13. I hope you didnt take my post as some type of a put down, it wasnt meant that way. If you did I apologize. i think you will be fine with just the regular belt, without adding an additional lap belt as long as you use that metal clip thing to prevent loosening of the belt. I use that in all my cars even when the in the back seat.
  14. There was a spacer for the brake switch, it doesnt fit into the rod on the 96 booster. Didnt realize this til it was all in. Either drill out the hole in the end of the rod to fit the spacer or go to a machine shop and have them make you a spacer with the same inner diameter as the old one but an outer diameter to fit the hole in the 96 booster rod.
  15. My wife crashed our other car so now all we have is the mj. I won't put the baby in it unless it comes to a point where there is no other choice. current law requires that all children ride in the back seat so I'm not sure what you do if you don't have a back seat. If you are just gonna take the baby around the block a few times because she wants to go for a ride then i think you will be fine. I'm pretty sure they work like you said, they lock when a certain amount of inertia is reacched, but i wouldnt go far or on any busy roads.

    2WD Rant

Well I have 4x4 in my 89 and with the 231 command trac it isnt any better. It sends all the power to whatever wheel is slipping so the tires that actually have traction don't move :fs1: I had to put it back into 2wd to get moving. Once i was moving the 4wd was nice tho. I plan to swap in a 242 since my truck is mainly used on the road. I was gonna bid on one last night but forgot and it sold for $38 :wall:
  17. Nice. I think it blends much better with the 2500 front painted the same color as the MJ
  18. Not sure where you are but this one looks sweet: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-pic ... 240%3A1318
  19. I missed the thread. Could someone please list all of the 4 letter words? J/K
  20. Can anyone tell me which ones I would need for front and rear? I am installing a 4.5" lift
  21. No one? :???:
  22. brdhntr, thanks alot for all the info. When it come time to do it I'm sure I will have alot of suestions.
  23. This is a good idea. I will have to check and see when mine comes on. I also had to put a new radiator in a while back, the old one had become 75% see thru due to all the fins rotting away. I wish i had had gauges back then instead of idiot lights so I could compare before and after.
  24. 97+ also go from thin to wider, but are the newer style.
  25. Is there a difference between a 231 and a 231J transfer case? Will the double booster from a 95 work too? or does it have to be a 96? Why can't you use the female seatbelt ends from a cherokee?
