  1. I can only imagine this story... I never stabbed myself... I did sit on a broad head once.... freakin' scar STILL hurts almost 20 years later!! (NO I didn't go to hospital! I probably should have as the cut was almost 2" long and at least a 1/2" deep!) Tp this day, every time my wife sees it she has a good laugh. OK I gotta ask, WHAT HAPPENED??? CW
  2. Yup, hens or cocks no difference, bang plop!   Only all our birds are stocks and although our licence's almost TRIPPLED this year, they are only stocking 2/3's the amount of birds.... :fs1: :fs1: :fs1: :fs1: Two trips out, (with dogs) resulted in one pheasant, two grouse and a couple bunnies and NONE in front of me!!! :wall: :wall: :wall: Starting next week I'm on call and will have that Thursday and the following Tuesday off... I'll be beating the brush for the last time before our deer season opens on the 18Th. CW
  3. HUH??? Whats this mean? CW
  4. Agreeded, good call Pat, yes stock covers are also avalible. Just cut the U-Bolts with a batt angle grinder or sawsall. Snip the brake line and unbolt the straps on the U-joint and the emergency brake cable mount. (Don't cut the emergency brake cables!!) YOUR DONE!! Just becareful you don't "pop" a nut putting it in the truck bed!! CW
  5. Sure, many companies make HD covers for the 20!!! Figure 100 for a good one.... CW
  6. Must just be the pic.. but it sure looks different don't it??? I'm pretty sure that they where identical.... CW
  7. Well I had a good weekend with little projects on the MJ this weekend!! I rebuilt my wiper linkage, rewired and upgraded my headlight wires for better light output and fixed my leaking rear slider!! I also made it into a DIY write up for the board!!! viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19315 Using this as a guide, http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoHeadlightLoom.htm I upgraded the wiring to my headlights today. I just came back in, all I can say is that they are WAY better!! I thought that mine where pretty good before, but WOW... IIRC, jeepcoM (Pat) also did a nice write-up on the subject. Thou I couldn't find it. It took a couple hours, cause I wanted the wire tucked away and the install nice and clean. So out came all the front lites, grill and winch to gain enough access. I didn't do pictures as the write up is very thorough. Besides, its all exposure. Hard to "see" difference in pics alone. I used all fine stranded 14Ga wire, 2 new headlight plugs and 2 40amp relays. I didn't solder anything, but used marine grade crimp connectors with dielectric grease on all exposed wire connections. I'm not sure the improvement will be as advantageous with std stock or halogen headlights. But with the H4's I installed a couple years back, there is a very worthwhile improvement. Lastly, I resealed my rear slider... When I found the rear carpet COMPLETELY SOALKED!! :wall: :wall: Its all dried/sucked up as good as I can without pulling the carpet again. I don't know what was used as a sealer, (Its after market and only a couple years old.) but it was all cracked and split. It won't happen again!! Next spring the interior is getting gutted. Really leaning towards a rubber floor and I hate the way my headliner came out as well... CW

  10. I agree the silver stars are a good looking rim!! NICE JOB!!! CW
  11. Nice and funtional!!! I like it! BTW< I also like the new tires!! What size are they?? CW
  12. What we are up against is a at least 17 years of use/abuse. Things happen with time. Its on my list of things to do is to add REAL, accurate gages to my rig too. I don't trust my temp or voltage/amp meter gage. Oil pressure seems OK, but who knows. CW
  13. Its different for different years. If your asking about the '88 in your sig. Check out mu build. My '89 should be the same as yours. I have pictures and explanations. CW
  14. Is the tank a stock tank? I ask because an after market tank will not have the internal support of the factory tank, this will cause your fuel pump to be quite loud all the time... Just like mine!! :fs1: :wall: :wall: :wall: CW
  15. Didn't a recent JP or 4WD and off road rag have a build up on a 5.0 jeep (4.0) stroker?? CW
  16. Two things come to mind. 1St. The factory gages are notoriously inaccurate. Go get a real gage and install it. 2Nd. You twice mentioned clean oil. Did you recently change the oil? If so whose oil filter did you use? IMHO the ONLY one to buy is a WIX filter. But the one to ABSOLUTELY AVOID is FRAM. Fram filters will cause pressure problems. Nearly the same thing happened to my in my TJ. I was on my way to a trail run when all ages went out, nothing no speedo, temp, oil pressure, battery or tack.... Mine was a common problem with TJ's a bad plug at the back of the cluster. nothing to do with our MJ's just similarly feeling of urgency. CW
  17. Darren, Play nice with the new guy... If wanna pic on some one I'm your huckleberry... CW You're my huckleberry? Are you coming onto me? I'd always wondered about you CW, now I know. Gator, Yes I'm running 35's. And you really should start listening to Bubba. You catch my drift junior. Pick on one of us who knows who and what you are. Not the new guy who has no idea your being funny at his expense. Continue acting like a child and you will be treated that way. CW
  18. Darren, Play nice with the new guy... If wanna pic on some one I'm your huckleberry... :brows: :brows: :brows: CW
  19. All are semi, full auto would be illegal ;) there's some guys in the states that are able to own full autos ? i think This is correct. As long as you file the proper paperwork and get the proper signatures form local authorities, some full autos, short barrelled shotgun and silencers are PERFECTLY LEGAL to own ans use. CW I always was told that you couldn't change your weapon to make it fully auto. And the paperwork, signatures... is for ones that are already auto and came that way from the manufacturer. CHANGING one is different than just buying and OWNING one. :D Altering one would make you a manufacturer which you are not. there for NOT legal. But that's not was we where speaking of. Apples and oranges. Now since we are on a tangent, I will add that chopping down CERTAIN shotguns IS allowed again with proper permits, paperwork and tax stamps. For actual laws refer to the BATF;s web site. CW
  20. IIRC LCA caster adjustment. I also seem to remember they where had to find if looking for a MJ. Look for it for a XJ. (We know there is no difference.) I THINK I have the set form one of the XJ's I chopped that are useable. LMK and I'll look. CW
  21. WELL THEN< I stand corrected, go get'em man!!! :clapping:   CW
  22. I too changed out my wiper bushings today!! I also made it into a DIY write up for the board!!! viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19315 CW
  23. This is something we will all need to address at some point. Its a easy job, accomplished in about 30-45 Min's. Parts required are three bushings. Available form the dealer OR the "help" rack at your local parts store. This is where I got mine, 5.99 for PN 49447. TOOLS: A Phillips screw driver A reg straight screw driver A pair of med sized channel locks A 18mm short socket A 10mm socket Some White lithium grease A #30 torx bit A single med sized "zip" tie Start with a phillips screwdriver. Remove the screws holding down the grill covering the linkage at the base of your windshield. Now remove and set aside both wipers. Remove the washer hoses and set grill aside. TIP: With that plastic zip tie. Attach it to the pass side washer hose so it will not fall thru the hole. With the #30 torx bit. Remove the 4 screws holding the wiper pedestals on. With the 10mm socket, remove the single 10mm bolt down inside the opening located next to the wiper motor. Push the pedestals down inside the opening and slid the entire thing to the drivers side then out onto the hood. The wires are long enough so they will NOT need to be disconnected. With the assembly upside down you will see the three bushings to be replaced. One in the center on the main motor lever. The other two are back to back on the drivers side. Using the reg straight blade screw driver pry the bushing off the "ball". Now using the 18mm socket and the channel locks, squeeze off the old bushing. Its simply pressed on. It will come off with just a bit of strength. Now place the new bushing in the hole where the old bushing was just removed from. using the same socket and channel locks. "press" the new bushing back into the arm. Repeat for the remaining two bushings. Reinstall the linkage and grill and finally the wipers and your done!! CW
  24. What do you mean "running"? Don't your partridge have wings up there??? :rotf: :rotf: :shake: I still remmeber my first Grouse... Flushed and shot AT many, many, birds before fineally connecting. That was a over the sholder shot thru the tree tops. I was swinging on him and shot as he dissappeared thru the linbs. I herd the crashing as he fell thru them to the ground. I once had a beautiful high grade, High Standard 410 pump. It had beautiful walnut and deep blue bluing and I shot it very well on clays. But never could keep myself from hunting with it and NEVER did kill a bird using it. I fineally sold it just in spite fo myself. Kinda wish I had it now, its pretty rare and was in very near perfect condition. Here is a couple hen phesantsnwe shot last season with my 1897 Winchester thumb buster pump. (I REALLY like pump guns too.) CW
