  1. is the 20 the "12 bolt rear" i see described in places that don't identify by model #?
  2. SuperDeucy, don't know if you remember, that animated GIF was my original avatar here. Cracks me up.......
  3. My guess is there was a White MJ that someone bought new off the Lot in 1992, drove directly into a Temperature and Humidity controlled Barn up in Cheese Country (with about 5 mile on the ticker). Hermetically and Vacuum sealed for freshness, Pat discovered and purchased the truck for whatever change was rolling around in his Ashtray and is getting ready to crack the "seal" and inhale that 16 year old, but good as the day it was new fresh new car smell... The excitement is getting the better of him, thus the Giddy Pre-Teen Girlish antics.. :D LOL #2. Yeah, maybe it was the first vehicle ever preserved through Cryogenics. That silo on their barn is really a big holding tank full of liquid nitrogen where the client, errrr, truck is in deep freeze. :jump:
  4. you know you girls could just text mssg each other the whole "i know something you don't know" instead of bringing that crap in to "THE CLUB". the last 4 or 5 email notices i get says there's a new post here and i want to see if Pat has done some work on his truck, but instead i'm reading this giggly little exchange between two 7th grade girls LOL. :D reading between the lines, i'll take a guess that Pat found a white MJ bed in excellent shape for $12.93. if i'm correct, to you Pat.
  5. beavis, he said porn........huh huh huh huh
  6. she'll turn 90 degrees. sure seemed tighter yesterday.
  7. yeah, a uhaul pickup and dolly on a day trip you could probably do for under $150. negotiate a flat rate on the pickup instead of paying per mile.
  8. Thanks fellas. Going by how I used to judge the chain on my dirt bike (feel), I noticed it seemed super tight. I'll give it the ole twist test later today, but I already know the answer. Thanks again........ And C-Dub, to your opening comment, of course that goes by feel too :brows:
  9. overall it looks like it's in really good shape, certainly a great starting point if someone wants to do an engine swap etc. despite the V6, i would also sugesst the $2k starting price.
  10. How would one go about checking the tension on the serpentine belt? How much "play" should be in it? Mine is tight as $#!&!, and I'm wondering if it is contributing to my recent overheating issues.
  11. why?
  12. Xacto, thanks a TON! You absolutely just confirmed what I've been wanting to do with pic#2. Sometimes in my mind I'd go back to version #1 when I'd see a clean one like Chico's with the black bottoms on all-white upper, but I'm pissing myself how excited I am to do the two-tone when I get to it. Probably sooner than later now LOL! I'll obviously do the jeep letters on the tailgate in black too. However, as I thought it would, it brings up one more decision. Black or chrome bumpers? I say chrome. The pic is a little off right now because the endcaps are faded grey, but I think chrom bumps w/black end caps will be VURRRYY NIIIICE. In the words of Cletus Snow, "Well honey hush!". :D :chillin:

While on a "one pick" choice I'd still stick with my 911 Turbo, along the lines of Hornbrod I have to say I've always thought it to be cool as shizzle to have a 4dr sedan that could hang with just about any 2dr sports car, at least in a stoplight drag race. With that I present the BMW M5... I think the new G8 is hot too WadeDeucy, probably because a lot of its styling cues come from BMW, who they openly are trying to take on with this car. [/img]

Eagle, I assume that is a Javelin. Very cool car, and a somewhat of a sleeper IMO. I had a buddy in high school that had one. One the way to lacrosse practice one day (the fields were off campus), he just so happened to flip it after getting airborne over a small hill in the road. He lost control and it climbed up an embankment and flopped over on its roof. Fortunately all four of my friends inside got out and were fine. Can't remember what he did with the car, other than his Dad took it way from him (duh). And it had a 390. Fast. Very fast.
  15. yeah, i'm known to get a little long winded and detailed, but on something like this, i figure the more info the better....

They're thinking the cost to upgrade from the current ZR1 to this is near zilch in relation to the positive brand image it will give them for having a world class supercar for $100G's (and in real dollars is probably pennies too). The current ZR1 already is highly respected for the performance to dollar ratio. A Vette is not for everyone, but neither is a Lambo Gallardo or Saleen S7. Point being, those cars will cost you twice as much and would wear your azz out if you tried to use it as a DD or even just typical city driving, whereas this beast, they say, will be just as easy to drive at 25mph as it is at 150mph. I'll still take my 911 Turbo if I had just one pick, but this wouldn't be far down the list. Oh, but GM is already catching heat for the clear spot in the hood to show the manifold cover. I think they brought back the old Pontiac designer who was in charge of putting all the plastic cladding on them for 20yrs LOL!
  17. Ok, juiced up now. So, if you Google auto transporters you'll get a ton and also sites that send out quote requests and then you'll get inundated with quotes. The ones that seem to be too good to be true, from what I researched, usually are. Then you get some quotes that are twice as much, and obviously ones that fall in between. I know that sounds obvious but you have to resist the temptation to just go with the cheapest. You have transport brokers, the majority of quotes you'll get, and transport companies, i.e. they have their own trucks. The latter is the most reliable but also the most expensive. Although, I found that most transport companies also do brokerage. Anyway, I also researched the BBB on each company I considered. The ones that ask you for a deposit are brokers, basically they are just making sure they get their fee up front. A lot of the lower end quotes supposedly are just the amount the actual transporter is charging, and the broker has not included their fee yet, which seems to usually be between $100-250. Then the transporter tells you he needs another $X amount before he'll unload your truck, but that's because the broker has witheld the amount of their fee from what the transporter is to get. So, best bet is to confirm with whoever you use whether they are a broker or the actual transporter and if there will be any additional fees over and above the quote they are giving you, upon delivery, i.e. fuel surcharges, "unloading fees", and/or their own fees if it is a broker. Some owner-operated transport companies will tell you should never give a deposit, but that's a little misleading in relation to what I just said. That's just how they market themselves against brokers. I ended up going with a broker and it went fine. Do be prepared though that the loading of your truck may end up taking longer than expected as they, whether a broker or owner-operator, wait to fill up the trailer and/or put together a run with all deliveries going in the same direction. Or, they're trying to secure a back-haul to for the trip home. I told them I wouldn't pay a deposit until there was proof the truck was loaded on a trailer. Well, I've gone on enough, but common sense and asking a lot of questions usually will reduce your risk of getting ripped off. Hope this helps. Oh yeah, where would it be coming from? As i said before, mine came from Missouri last September and was about 7 or 800 miles I think, and I paid $700. $500-$600 were the low bids, but they couldn't give me a load date. $1100-1300 was the high end from owner-operators and companies who only hauled with enclosed trailers.
  18. Smithe, I had my MJ shipped from Mizzou to Va fo $700 and it took about 5 days. I'll follow up with more details later but my battery is about to die on my laptop. :brows:
  19. OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CCCCCCCCCCRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!! Are we all just a bunch of IDIOTS??!! I obviously am at the top of the list. :wall: :thwak:  :dunce: :wall: Taz, I am truly embarrassed and offer my apology. Mr. Slow Norris, please make sure you read this, and to be sure I will send you a PM. We are VERY FORTUNATE to have a very active member here who is a parts specialist at a Jeep dealership. In addition, he is willing, for which we are also very fortunate, to pass on any discounts he is able to. And ultimately, if he can't get it, he will direct you where to look such as a place like teamcherokee.com that may have bought out some NOS and truly has the last few of a particular part. But, please make sure you patronize Brent, and tell him WahooSteeler sent ya from the Comanche Club!
  20. wow! a lot of work and well worth it. love the updated interior. keep us posted, great job!
  21. xacto, you seemed pretty quick with this. can you do mine too please? if i can be picky, one with just the lowers black, extending up in to the flares of course, and the other as two tone. black on the lowers and flares, current metallic maroon in the middle, and black again on top starting at the body line break just below the door handle. thanks for any help....... 22. choo! choo! seriously though, I've found teamcherokee.com to be a good source, as already noted, and wholesalemopar.com the thing with wholesalemopar.com though is it may let you go all the way through checkout and then you get an email, sometimes a couple days later, saying no longer available. sooo, you may want to call when you order from there. one nice thing there is you can order individual pieces like weatherstripping whereas on teamcherokee you have to order the whole kit. but both have been good for me........ :D
  23. Jeff, LOL, yeah my wife always tells people who make the same comment, "i didn't really have anyting to do with it, i was just there". Chico, I'm going to secretly have that Blowfish exported to Japan where it is considered a delicacy

JT, Cruise dumped a 92"8" in the lake. 928 being their badass V8 car, 924 being their POS 4cyl watered down version of the great 944. Love love love the 944. Still has some of the sweetest lines to it today.
