Ok, I need a photo of this. It's under the Jeep, but without mounts? :hmm: bungee cords :)

you will have to weld perches on that axle.

I appreciate that. Man, if it were a bit closer to the OH border I would get some the next time we visted family in Steubenville. it's about 3 hours from the river according to Mapquest. Arrangements will have to be made, for that kind of price I'd be willing to got a little out of my way. I was considering Hi-tecs, shipped to my door it would be 305, plus mounting and balancing at $20 a tire. So i'd be near 400, hell, I got a quote for some Mastercraft(cooper) Lt's at that price.

I want some!

I would imagine that whatever they're putting into the grand may make it's way down. I think they're using VM engines in the grand and commander

nope, not at all. most People make the biodiesel reactor out of an old electric water heater. hell, even a new E water heater wouldn't be more than a few hundred dollars. Add to that some hose and some pumps and you'll be ahead of the game in a few batches. Before I found the manche I was looking for a small diesel pickup, mazda and nissan both had one in the 80s. I was sucked in by the 4.0 and now I'm payiong for it at $3 a gallon. Search "appleseed reactor" on google. http://www.biodieselcommunity.org/appleseedprocessor/

are those high tec recaps, or someplace local to you? I'm looking for a decent AT tire to put on the comanche in the 31" size for street. As cheap as possible My chiristmas present to myself this year is going to be a set of 32x9.5 TSLs mounted on spare rims for trail use :)

Mine stays at 200 deg highway, and heats to 235 when wheeling in 95* heat. 210 is the accepted normal op temp. I pegged my guage at 260 one and boiled the coolant with no ill efect on the 4.0. My brother lost a radiator on the PA turnpike in construction and couldn't stop, he said the needle was at the screw past 260 and his 4.0 lives after he changed the new defective rad out in a parking lot. 4.0's are really tough, operating temps higher than 210 suggest something wrong with your cooling system.

thread hijack: What tires are those Jeff, I kinda like the tread.

Is it bad to invert leaves?
87manche replied to feerocknok's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
find yourself a big ditch and drive across it, putting a front wheel on one side and a rear wheel on the other. -
x2 we had all the needed tools, but I left the toolboc with the spare LCA bolts at camp :)
-
if you're looking for parts in a junkyard go and take them from a 4 dr XJ.

inverting a leaf will greatly shorten it's lifespan. If they're junkyard items and you don't mind replacing them then invert them all you want. -
I'm not as scared of the D35 as the TJ tow hooks just bolted to the bumper

I had the problem when my LCA needed fixed. it sucks.

i 2nd that also. :D and you have the tabs instead of windows. and the download window. and all the other goodies i missed. alex Opera is where it's at. Firefox is just a poser for tabbed browsing. opera has supported tabs since forever.

I have a skyjacker coil spring/LCA/long AAL 3" lift on my MJ. It works Ok in the front, but my rear leafs are a bit stiff. I'm looking at ways to get the rear to flex better, overall I like the spring rate, and the ride on the street is improved over my factory setup.

I wished we had AC in the 95* NC heat for two days. In cab temp was probably 110. You're not missing much with the interior blower, on my rig it was just sucking in hot air, it was better with it off. I may pick up a 12V fan like that, it may be the best solution. Just a thought on your fan though, mine was the connector on the right of the HVAC controls, just worn out, prongs not making contact. I cut the connector off and put regular spade connectors on it, works like a champ.

the 2.8 rad will not work. What you really need is the entire front clip from the 94. The entire front end was redesigned in 87 to accomodate the 4.0

all urethane formulations cure in a hygroscopic manner, same this with gorilla glue. If you want to speed up the cure on that then you lightly mist one side of the mating parts before sticking them together. The "white" foam mentioned previously is not likely a urethane foam, which is why it's a better choice. That's also why it doesn't expand as much.

the urethane foams cure in the presence of moisture and are hygroscopic.

 beefy.

I'd be interested in the cap. My MJ is a work truck, and I'm tired of all my junk getting wet. I too have a LWB. and I'm in ashland, just up 250 from you :)
