I never said I didnt like them cause I love the big ol beast This one is BAD ARSE though!
-
Yeah, but who's "they"? That truck makes me want to change my rules a bit. :brows: Too bad it probably would cost too much. Excursions aren't any wider than a regular Ford superduty truck. Duellys are like 2 feet wider than regular pickups. That black Dodge above is a dually. Notice the extra wide stance in the rear. On a weird side note, the pull-your-part near me had a wrecked Centurion conversion in it not too long ago. If I had unlimited funds I might find one of those and pimp it out with a new drivetrain. :D Hey JT.............. :nanner: :rotf:  Those Excursions are hugamoungoussuperBIG.. might not be as wide but their hugamoungoussuperBIG... EDIT: That white "Centurion"?? thing is freaking blah... I didnt even see the tree on top because of its repulsiveness.... :chillin:

Quite honestly, that was exactly my first thought when I saw you looking at the 'Burban, because I was thinking the same thing as mfpm, i.e. with the amount of price drop lately, you might be able to find one for $10k. I just thought it seemed like your list of wants and needs was more geared to a 4 door pickup. I'd bet there is a Powerstroke Excursion one out there for $10k. :D BUT,,,, he said And Excursions are about the same size (if not bigger) then duallies

Well ideas are good,,, lets you know how not do something, but leads to something good.... The bleed all at once didnt go to good.. was kinda busy running around making sure everything was going ok, did find a line I made didnt get tightened to well, realized I shouldnt try and bleed without the rear drums on, and that if you unscrew a bleeder to much it will put air in the tubing your using.. SO,, I just had to do it the old fashion way,, had my son pump the pressure and hold it, as I loosened the bleeder... I did have him pump fluid through to a bottle until fluid was nice and clear. Then put the lines into the MC and just circulated fluid until no air was seen, and then did the pump'n' hold. BUT,, still using all four lines to the MC made it really easy and clean to do all the brakes without having to stop and fill reservoir. Also with the length of the tubing going from bleeders to MC + the tubing was clear, made it really easy to see if any air was still going through.. I wouldn't call it a complete waste of time, just now I know I'm 100% air free. :D

"A" piller mounted Offroad lights...?
jtdesigns replied to ComancheKid45's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm :???: you want to add more lights, but you say you don't want to get pulled over by the po-po more??? -
Rich I finally got the pump in tonight and ran it. I think it's leaking though. No change in temp. 215 to 230. I'm going to wire my electric fan on a switch this week. If that doesn't lower the temp I'm gonna let it run outta coolant and oil and drive it till it blows and catches fire. :D Just don't kick it... I did that once and was limping around for like a week!

RTV on water pump gasket?
jtdesigns replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You're kidding...right? Another person, another opinion: I always use RTV on gaskets. Yes, it destroys them if you have to remove the part, but if the mating surfaces have a small irregularity the RTV can make the difference. If you crank down on the mounting bolts to force the gasket itself to close up a small irregularity can crack the housing. Hey this is Dirty,,, you did read his signature right? -

Don't listen to JT, he's a 2 wheeler. A low-ridin' 2 wheeler at that. No self-respectin' 4 wheeler would intentionally keep that rake. :D I'm not a low riding 2 wheeler!!! I thought about it, but I think I'm going to stay where I'm at for now..... Might change, but I don't think a solid front beam would make a good low rider.. hummm who knows..... but still think the rake looks better even if it had a lift..

Refilling the closed system.
jtdesigns replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
well crap! OK well you must be getting more then 16psi for it to be pushing past the rad cap then right??? can you open the cap and let the truck get warm without coolant going everywhere? -
listen.......... whoooosh....... did you hear that?? Yelp that first post went right over my head!! You lucky you know that right!! lol Ive thought about those too madman.... might be something I will do...
-
Cause the seats are out.. + shes a woman and doesn't know how to follow directions.. :hmm: I thought the last time we talked, you were going to get a 5 gallon bucket in there, so you would have real "bucket seats"???? :nanner: lol.... yelp did didnt I? hehe

Cause the seats are out.. + shes a woman and doesn't know how to follow directions.. Yeah right.... forgettt about it... :D

Refilling the closed system.
jtdesigns replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes that was exactly what I was thinking... A blown head gasket doesnt allways place water in the oil, or vise versa.. Since you've already checked for fumes gladly rule that headache out of the way! Ok I wasn't 100% with what you have going on.. I'm thinking that your bottles cap isnt like the cap on a rad (say 16psi spring loaded).. When you trucks temps rise the pressure is pushed out of the metal container into the overflow, making it closed, but not pressurized like a true closed system, so when you try to bleed the air its cooled + your system isnt pressurized making it more difficult to burp. I think most of the efficiencies of the closed system is when you add pressure to water it raises the boiling point.. ie; boiling water on a high mountain.. it boils at a lower temp then it would on a beach. and that pressure from being closed helps to push the air out when you pop the temp sender. Try this chico,,, plug that overflow then try and burp your system... -
The only thing is........If your shadow what to help, tell him NO, and find something else for your shadow to do  :shake: :D I've at least got to try it because if I don't I'll kick myself for not knowing if it works or not, even if it don't.. you know...

Refilling the closed system.
jtdesigns replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't think the overflow bottle returns fluid back to the system does it? I just thought it was a vessel to trap escaping pressure and over flow when your system pressures exceeded/over took the rad caps mechanical pressure pushing down from its spring....
