  6. Get you a airbrush kit.. There cheap and you can use regular auto paint in them..
  7. All true. I skipped the mass backing because i read among other things it makes the new carpet that much harder to cut and work with. Underneath the new carpet i have a layer of of some stuff called Overkill over top of a layer of Damplifier. Between the two, its as thick as the jute padding from under the original carpet; thick enough that i had to skip using the overkill around the seat bracket bolts. btw, forgot to mention this in my first post...that is some nice work on the interior. I'm in the middle of the same project and hope it turns out half as nice. That Damplifier stuff... Is it pretty much Dynamat? How much did you use on the floors??

  14. Shimmy is a far cry from death wobble. Death wobble is called that because when it happens, your life flashes in front of your eyes and you KNOW you're gonna die in about 2.37 seconds. Death wobble is like a demented djini has grabbed hold of the front of your truck and is doing his best to fling it forcefully off the road into the nearest ditch. Basically, if you don't wet yourself -- it isn't death wobble. Death wobble is generally unlikely in a vehicle with independent front suspension because you don't have that big, SOLID axle rigidly connecting both wheels, both steering knuckles, and everything associated therewith. It's hard for the harmonic feedback to get a toehold when there's nothing solid through which it can transfer. Right, I was just basing my vote on what I "thought" caused DW the most... I might have it in my truck though... I have the axles up on blocks and I can turn the wheel all the way right ( I think) and the body moves to the left.. Think Ill get any DW in a 2wd??
  15. Dude???? Wth?? I'm guessing your not done with this huh?? I mean I know its pretty straight forward but.... I'm wondering about the hind sights 20/20 thing... You know........ if I did it again I'd this, that, and the other.... Need more info there Maynard..
  16. Did you ever fix your seat frame??
  17. I havent driven my truck all that much.. I just know on my prelude i had a real bad shimmy at about 55 to 70 with the shaking stopping pretty much at 70, and it would really shimmy bad when brakes were applied.. I got new tires and alignment and it pretty much stopped all shakes...
  18. I remember hearing something about using some sealant on that rubber to help seal.... I guess it wouldn't hurt, might even help to lube the rubber as it goes in..
  19. lol... i went back into photobucket and rotated em... that annoys me too... Yea its a new carpet kit from JC Whitney. (Auto Custom Carpets) Got it for 124 bucks shipped and received it in 2 days... It worked out great being molded and all, came with new jute padding on the back.. It is a pain to locate and cut the holes for the seats tho I thought that'd be easy to do ,, well on mine that is, because my truck has studs that stick up from the floor.. :dunno: Beleive me I know,,, Ive been doing alot of wiring, fuse box work and those suckers get on my nerves!!! well, they're easy to find but the padding on the back makes it hard for the studs to come through easily... plus you have to cut holes for the seat belts, and trim off all the excess (they give you about 6 inches of extra on all sides). You have to be precise though because one mis-cut and you'll end up short... More time consuming than anything I guess.. Good to know man! I'm planning on getting a new carpet for my truck,,, here's the place, and its only like 2 hours away from me They sent me some samples and their carpets look GOOD!!
  20. Too bad those chickens didnt have your high speed fans huh??? Bock, Bock.... :D
