  1. I was going to ask about that resistor pack.. I found it (the ballast resistor) in a 93 FSM but still not in the 88... :wall:
  2. If in around Morgantown, WV you need to check out Coopers Rock and Cheat lake. WVU is the main attraction if you want to hit some cool bars. If you do hit up the Mountaineers Campus you have to take a drunk ride on the PRT.. The PRT is like a monorail/gonadal thing that'll take you all over the place...
  3. Still don't see any way the resistor is switched in the system..
  4. OK that makes alot of sense.. I'm still searching through the wiring diagrams trying to find the ballast and switching circuit... Found this... Still looking for the wiring diagram
  5. 13 ft lbs from 88 fsm
  6. The ballast resistor is bypassed at startup unless some PO altered the original circuit. Once running, the ECU immediately sends a signal to the ballast resistor relay and it's latched into the fuel pump voltage supply circuit. The resistance value on the ballast is critical; some of the "universal" ones are not the correct value and drop the voltage too much or not enough to the pump. I'd pick up a new one from the dealer (p/n 33000682, about $7.00), reterminate the spade connectors on the wires, and install a new resistor. Yeah I know thats the thing,, it won't start with the resistor unhooked.. But it will hooked up.. I omhed it out at just a tad under 1 ohm. I'm guessing Ill get another one, but still isnt working like y'all say it should, by bypassing at start-up. WAIT,,, ballast resistor relay...... where is that???
  7. lol... show off...
  8. Any tire shop you go to will sell lug nuts.. Your looking for 1/2"-20
  9. I just don't get it... Hooked the fuel pressure tester up to it and did some digging.. felt the ballast resistor getting pretty warm pretty quick.. I jumped the resistor and she fires right up every time.. unhook it, it won't crank, or have any pressure at all. Hook it up and its like a hit or miss if it cranks or not... I thought the fuel pump bypasses that resistor on starting.. What gives?????
  10. Sounds like Eminem??? :dunno:
  11. i've never seen a 15" moab. i'm not saying they don't exist, but i've just never seen nor heard of 'em. i have seen and do own a set of 16" moabs off of a tj. they fit our xj/mj's bolt pattern. and the 16" rim size is pretty easy to find tires for. So the tjs moabs are 16".. ok I was thinking they were 15" I know the 17" have different lug patterns I've bought a set before.
  12. Joe Nathan, You have a good point, and I understand where your coming from. I just would like to see these people share their experiences while trying to sell some of this stuff. And another thing how many of these one timers even ask for a fair deal? Maybe I am wrong, but I see it as a insult to our community and to myself. And the links to Craigslist and others,, well I'll post the good deals every time I see one, and give a heads up on anything I find or spot if I feel its a fair deal. Esp this "Jeep Farm" guy you KNOW he has information that would help someone out, but he's not looking to help anyone out, just take their money. And I wish he makes me eat my words, but then I don't think so, he's done stated the best way to contact him is by giving him a call.. I might call him just see how much a set of taillights are.. It's not like his supply is low, and the demand is high.. I mean how many ppl in the world drive MJ's? These trucks arent that rare. I'll be glad to pick something up for someone, or direct them to a good source to find what their looking for,, Thats what being a unity is..
  13. The 17" moabs are not the same lug pattern as the XJ,MJs Its 5 on 5 I think.. Our trucks are 5 on 4.5 and they do make a moab wheel that is 15" in the same bolt pattern as our trucks. I'm not 100% on the years somone will be though. I do know the 17's were after 06 (maybe??)
  14. Lostissues.. Nothing is ever hard to find if your capable of looking for it.. You'll never hear me say dang i can't find this or that,, well maybe you will if its brand new part.. The whole point is that this guy I'm SURE has loads and loads of info about Jeeps.. I do hope this guy makes me apologize,, really I do.. And I will if he's straight up and not here to profit out and be like poof; only checking in to bump his "for sale" thread. That is why this country is in the !!!#$% up state its in now.. I put alot of time into this site, made ALOT of d@Mn good friends on here. Logged many hours reading, laughing, crying, even throwing prayers for any of our "brethren",,, and believe me when I say I'm not the praying type,, that I feel its a big "up yours" when someone finds this site from a goggle search and thinks to themselves,, "H#!! look at all these FANATICS,, ching-ching  " This is a community of guys and gals with the same interests, and very eccentric interests at that, not craigslist, or ebay, or even jy's r us.. hate it, like it,,, its all goooood. Its free speech here last I heard.. Thats why my battle did come home with me.. I don't like stingy ppl. nuff said.
  15. Hubcentric centers your wheel by letting the wheels center hole slip onto the hub. non-hub, or lug-centric centers your wheel by using the lugs.
  16. Nah.. I just like all the fab work going into his XJ.
  17. I can only think of a latch program in a PLC. I mean ecu's are basically PLCs (programmable logic control) and theres a latch program that holds things (relays, switches, contacts, motor starters, ect) open, or closed. But the diagram doesnt go anywhere except to the ecu through a real relay.. Not like a PLC in that way cause relays are programed into the PLC PCU. :hmm:
  18. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11792
  19. I think that was DirtyComanche. Ummm give me a sec Ill try and find it.
  20. I was reading the wiring diagrams and came across a "B+ Latch Relay" is that pretty much the "main" ignition relay, or main power latch?
  21. I was thinking about doing that too Brent, just havent had any time to wrench.. Hopefully this weekend.. If rain doesnt stop me from it. I can hear the pump prime, but not when turning over.
  22. :hmm: I don't have no owners manual... :rotfl2: I guess in 20 years its turned to dust, or thrown out by some PO..
