  1. Thanks guys.... I really want to leave them white but I guess my only concern is I have alot of black on my truck and wonder how it would contrast.
  2. 4.88's is a good call, maybe a big low for 33's (in my opinion) but it gives you the option to move up in tire size later without regearing again.
  3. I was hoping for some pics or just opinions about my new rims. I'm running a 38.5 on a beadlock and balancing is impossible, I can run about 45 and locally it's not so bad but I've been keeping my eye out for some road tires. Yesterday I made a trip to Cleveland and picked up a set of 5x5.5 10x16.5 old school whites spokes. I also picked up a set of 37x12.50x16.5 Radial Wrangler OZ military takeoffs. So should I leave them old school retro white or paint them black? IF anyone had an XJ or MJ with white spokes please post them up.
  4. I guess I found it entertaining and plan to watch it. Everything said above is true and I could have likely completed everything they did in the first episode with a stock MJ on 31's. But I like reality television not for the fake of it but the parts they can't script.... I look forward to the Inevitable breakage and how they plan to fix it. A show about Tim Cameron and 5 other pro's slowly walking through this terrain in 100k bounce buggies would likely have been extremely boring. I guess I'm just a sucker for anything Off Road related.....
  5. If you get a chance to watch my latest video on my build thread I'm running a trail called Ladder. At the end I drive straight up and out.... my buddy in his TJ, Longarmed Locked front and rear same size tires as mine, spends at least 10 minutes trying to climb out the way I came. He even stood it on its rear bumper and twisted 90 degrees at one point..... that guy has 3 times as much in his TJ and I school that thing every time we are in the woods and I can haul my own cooler..... Silly Wrangler guys......
  6. .the Wrangler guys never wave to us MJ guys?!? :hmm: The one's that won't wave are the one's who have wheeled with an MJ and still can't understand why after thousands in bolt on mods their Wrangler still can't compete with our old pickups.....I love seeing the look on their faces as I walk back after completing a challenging obstacle with little or no effort. Pure disbelief.
  7. I've already put this on my schedule for the first weekend in August.... not sure if that was ever finalized but that's gonna be the weekend me and my group will be rolling in.
  8. Right on Jake.... looking forward to meeting you and thanks for the offer, likely I'll need to take you up on it.
  9. Hope you guys showed those Soft Tops how well a MJ climbs..... maybe some day I'll make it out your way.... Keep the pics coming.....
  10. Always nice to see another Chief....Love the blue. :)
  11. Very nice truck.... the floorboards are amazing
  12. When this pic was taken this was what I was running. SOA in the back 4.5 inches up front Dana 30 Front 8.8 our back with 4.88's 36x12.50 Swamper SX's
  13. I don't know the name but you run north out of Marietta for about 12 miles and you'll see a covered bridge on the right. A new bridge is just past it so you hang a right then as soon as you cross the bridge you take another right into a National Park Campground. We usually camp there and the access is on the back side of the campground. I think one of the trails is called Basher.
  14. Here's a pick of my switches... I put the switch for Sol #1 on the right and Sol #2 on the left. That will allow me to use the nearest switch to shift between first and second.
  15. Spent the afternoon today wiring up some switches that will allow me to manually shift my Asian transmission. Took it out and did some driving around and it worked perfectly.... been wanting to do this mod since I got my first Jeep 5 years ago.... :D
  16. Finally got around to finishing up the tube doors yesterday. The latches are just factory XJ I robbed off one of my brothers junkers, the black handles are from an unknown source but found them lying on my brothers work bench..... Not sure I'm digging the small inside bars so I'll probably end up cutting them out and doing something different.
  17. Right on ..... I was in the UAE back in 04 or 05.... rode a camel and drank alot of beer. Oh and if I remember right they have an awesome Gold District.
  18. Well it kinda depends on how much work your willing to do..... do some research around here and you'll quickly realize that hanging a 97+ dash is not a simple task. When I was on the fence about this very issue I just did a quick pro's and con's sheet listing what I was gaining versus what it would cost in time and labor. People can say what they want about OBDII but I've owned a 98 XJ, my son currently owns a 2001 XJ... my brother has 5 97+ XJ's and works on Jeeps for a living and I'll tell you from experience that these systems had alot of gremlins. I had them so bad in my 98 that I swapped the entire harness just to fix my problem. So back to my pros and cons sheet.... there were alot of cons... modifying the firewall, buying a 97+donor vehicle, new mounting tabs on the firewall... ect...ect and only one pro and that was a newer style dash (I also had an interior cage to consider) So in the long run I kept my dash and just upgrade my console to a 97+ and some GC seats..... I know alot may not agree but these are my opinions from my experiences.....
  19. I've got a 01 Dakota bench in the building I've had for a couple years.... Sometimes I wish I could take the wife and the kid with me when I'm wheeling. I really like how yours turned out, might have to take another look at doing the swap.
  20. x2 :)
  21. I read back over your build and the best I can tell your running 37's? Those things look massive for 37's.... how do you like them so far?
  22. Right on..... I'm running about 5 inches with alot of cut.
  23. I have the JCR as well... but like Wade says you gotta get those poly spacers. The higher the lift the worse the ball joint roll. Do some reading on Ball Joint roll before you get into it.
