Motion Offroad replied to speedy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's a Dana 44. And the rod for your rear prop. valve is not correct. -
Here; http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112 OR http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15 They are stickied at the top of this forum. :D

I'm pretty sure they're 1/2 and 9/16. At least they were when I futsed with them. They may have changed since then. Once again, 1/2" and 13mm are close. 1/2" = .500 and 13mm = .512 So I guess to make it "fare" to everyone... you can use 13mm and 14mm OR you can use 1/2" and 9/16". Or a combo of one or the other... Happy now? :D
-
I've always used 9/16th as it fits the bolts better. If you can fit a 14mm on it than so be it. They are only .012 different in size...

The steering pump and bracket to the motor, and they're a fun mix of 13mm and 9/16". As far as the box goes they are 16mm. The two lines connecting to the box take an 18mm wrench, and if you've got a stubby wrench, that would certainly come in handy. The steering shaft is clamped onto the input shaft of the steering box with a 13mm bolt

Rear Main Seal
Motion Offroad replied to Ben-88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Also check the oil filter adapter o-ring and gasket. These are also known to leak and are easier (and less expensive) to replace. As far as the gaskets go, yes we've had the best luck with factory Mopar parts. -
Was it the bar itself that broke or was it the end link (heim joint, or TRE)?
-
It was nice talking with you yesterday. I emailed you your C4x4 tracking info this morning; let me know if you didn't get it. :D
-
Our website is updated with new prices. The main thing is that now all C4x4 products are available bare metal and you can paint them yourself. Powder Coat is still available. So in reality, prices dropped if your wanting to paint the products yourself as that option was not available prior. Prices went up on the C4x4 XJ/MJ tow hook kit; but we're going to keep our prices the same as before the price increase on this item as long as we can. Thanks again for your business!

Adding a 1" lift question
Motion Offroad replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes both will work. However an XJ shackle will not lift the MJ as much as it does an XJ. Common rule is deduct about 3/4" from what an XJ shackle advertises as lift; that will tell you the amount of lift you'll receive on an MJ. So the TeraFlex shackles you linked above will net you aprox. 3/4" of lift on your MJ. Also FYI if you plan on ordering from us to save a few bucks - http://motionoffroad.wordpress.com/2008 ... ne-orders/ -
Adding a 1" lift question
Motion Offroad replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Only thing I'd recommend is if your adding a rear shackle is to go with a greaseable one. You'll thank yourself later that it's greaseable as they are much more quieter and the bushings last much much longer. As far the front coil spacers go make sure they are notched on one side as if they are fully round that will not fit on the MJ or XJ correctly. Here is a photo of our spacers to show what I'm talking about. -

Just a FYI for you guys! More info here; http://motionoffroad.wordpress.com/2008 ... 25th-2008/

If you end up wanting to go new we have one in stock in black.
-
The front shafts are on national backorder and Alloy is not giving an ETA on when they'll be back available. Your only luck is to find someone who's got them on the shelf. I will get back to you on your PM here in a bit.

Fill the tube with sand and than try to bend it. The sand inside will help keep it from kinking.

how long are your coils

A 8" long coil or a 8" lift coil? What size tires are you trying to fit? -
how long are your coils
Motion Offroad replied to camo89's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Coil length/height is somewhat irrelevant. It's based on the coil spring rate the coils are. For instance a RE 3.5" coil and a RE 4.5" coil are only 1/8" difference in length; however they do lift a full 1" between the two. No two manufactures run the same coil spring rates. The only real way to tell what size coils you have is to find a common point (most measure flare) and than compare it to stock. -

Motion Offroad replied to chicofuentes0224's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
To the best of my knowledge no MJ ever had the NP242 from the factory.
