  1. Correct. I was just referring to the tranny itself. I think I took Genovast's post wrong as he was saying that the outputs of the AW4 were different based on if it was a 2WD or 4WD. I guess I should of been a bit more specific with the info. Also just remember for reference that the NP231/242 has 2 different input spline counts based on what tranny/year it had. So not all TC's are created equal for those of you looking for parts to do a 4wd swap.
  2. The AW4 Spline count changed mid 1990. I think that both the 2WD and 4WD spline counts prior were the same, and than both changed mid 1990 as well. I don't think that the spline count has anything to do with the 2WD vs. 4WD.
  3. The MJ/XJ/YJ all use the same part, so that has no relation to the length. I called Posi-Lok for you and the length on the 920 kit (3"+) is 18" longer in cable length than the normal 900 kit.
  4. Yes it was made by Mark @ Detours. He actually recently moved to TN and I don't think he's quite up and running again yet.
  5. I'll match that price shipped for the 3"+ kit. Give us a call at 260.224.6098 or email at sales@motionoffroad.com Heck it'll be even cheaper than NAPA since you don't have to pay tax with us. ;)
  6. I'm not sure of the length of them; I've never measured one... I do believe that the 3"+ is 6" longer than the stock-3" one. I could be way off, but I recall talking with Posi-Loc for a customer about the difference in length and being told that it's 6" longer.
  7. I like the roof on your XJ! http://picasaweb.google.com/grimaldur/S ... 4202985874
  8. We've been using the ACC product for awhile and it's AWSOME! The MJ vinyl comes in a few more colors as well if anyone is interested. Black Gray Beige Blue Desert Camo Woods Camo Red We do sell it and can probably beat JCW's price if anyone is interested.
  9. With 3" of lift and 31x10.5" tires with 4" BS rim you shouldn't rub your flares. It will vary on if your running the correct length lower control arms with that amount of lift. But from our experience the RC 3" lift with 31x10.5" tires and 4" BS Crager Soft-8's won't rub anywhere even at full lock.
  10. With 4.75" BS tires and 31x10.5" wide rims you'll rub your tires on the lower control arms at full lock. I'd recommend going with 4" BS on the Soft 8's. That also allows you to run a larger tires in the future if you ever wanted to and still have plenty of room for clearance.
  11. XJ and MJ gas tanks are different. Also the pumps are different as well. Just get a MJ 4.0L pump and it should fit into your 2.5L MJ tank.
  12. Cost really depends on what you can find a Dana 300 for. If you can get a good deal on one your better off going that route (in my opinion). You will have to run a flip kit on the Dana 300 though to fit it under your XJ/MJ.
  13. I know of 2 kits currently on the market for doubling the 231. They are the Madrooster Offroad Kit and the DD Machine Box4Rocks kit. The Box4Rocks kit is defiantly a nice setup. We used it with a Dana 300 / NP231 doubler combo. Worked perfectly. The Box4Rocks kit I believe runs right at $399, where the Madrooster kit is more expensive at around $100 more. As to why one is better than the other I have no clue as I've not researched them in depth. As far as getting them, here is the info I can provide for you. D.D. Machine (ask for Duffy) (360) 779-2500 dd98370@hotmail.com (I believe he has Yahoo Msg. as well under the name of djld98370) Madrooster Off Road (ask for Phil) (559) 232-5566 madroosterfab@yahoo.com or desertcj2002@yahoo.com (I believe he has AOL Msg. as well under the name of ieffed)

XJ, TJ, and MJ ones should all be fairly interchangeable based on the height (length) needed. To use a YJ set you'll need a "hoop bracket" to convert the stud type mounting to an eye-ring mount to be used on the MJ.
  16. C4x4 bumpers are top quality bumpers. The grill guard is a $185 option. The euro bar (hoop on the top of the brush guard) is an additional $30 option.
  17. That is just a '97+ grill/header panel and lights. The photo does make it look a bit "different" however. I assure you it's just the photo, and that bumper is on a '97+ XJ. More photo's of that Jeep/Bumper combo to show you.
  18. If your going to use the RE HD tracbar (1660) you will also need the mount to use it on your Jeep. It's part number 1665. Also remember that RE coils sit higher than advertised. A RE 5.5" coil will sit at 6-6.25".
  19. It's a NP242. Another easy way to tell on the Renix era XJ/MJ is to look at the front axle. If it has the vac. disco it's a NP231 TC, if it does not have the vac. disco it's a NP242. In other words the vac. disco axle was only used with the NP231. As for the D44 all that would be required to put in his YJ would be new perches.
  20. We're not going to be biased with our opinion on this so please do not take it that way.... 1st off you won't pay TAX from us unless your in Indiana. As far as what the things do: Quick Disco's: These are your swaybar end links. We recomend that every MJ driven on the street have their swaybar connected. However when you offroad it is common practice to disconnect your swaybar as it allows for more suspension travel in the front. The quick disco's allow you to disconnect your swaybar for offroading and than reconnect it for driving on the street. Tracbar: A tracbar is what keeps your front axle centered under your Jeep. When you lift your MJ the larger coils with a factory tracbar shift your axle over to one side. To correctly center your axle you need an adjustable tracbar that is longer than stock so you can keep your axle centered under your MJ. Control Arms: When you lift your MJ your factory control arms are to short. The results is that it pulls the axle back towards the rear of the Jeep not keeping the axle centered in the wheel well. To solve this you need longer control arms. Depending on the lift height you either need new lower, or new lower as well as new upper control arms. Thier is also driveline angels you need to worry about but I won't over complicate it for you. An adjustable control arm is just that; adjustable. You can adjust the length of the control arm based on your lift height. It also allows you to fine tune your suspension to help correct any driveline angles issues you have. It's also nice to have adjustable arms if you ever decide you want to go larger as than you can simply adjust the length and not have to purchase a new set. As far as the RE kit I would honestly recommend the SuperFlex AAL kit over the SuperRide AAL kit. You get the superflex arms over the superide arms and you also get the RE Gen 2 swaybar disco's over the RE Gen 1 (junk). And with either RE kit your going to need an adjustable tracbar that is not included. Also the RE 3.5" coils will sit at 4" (just incase you did not know that). And where are you getting the RE XJ 3.5" SR for $370? That's below the price that RE allows dealers to even sell for. RE raised their prices the 1st of March as well so make sure your getting a good price from whomever. Also don't forget we knock a few bucks off for CC members. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call.
