As stated above we had some server issues over the past few weeks. We were updating some security stuff to make it safer for you the customer to order online and long story short our hosting company messed up. Our website was down for 3-4 days and the back end (what we use to process orders etc.) was down for 12 days. We just today have been able to access that part of the server. So we’ve been unable to process the majority of orders in the last 10 or so days. Since our email is also ran on this same server we were unable to access our email for several days as well. We did get our email back up on Friday. Also our voicemail system is on the server so if you’ve left a voicemail we’ve still been unable to access them. So if you called and were unable to reach us and did leave a message we’ve been unable to check them. At the moment everything is back up besides our voicemail system. We have calls temporally routed to a cell phone so we can at least check messages. We do spend many hours on the phone with customer’s helping them with install questions or answering general questions about products. We do not like to put customer’s on hold to answer the 2nd line (admit it, you don’t like to be put on hold when your call someone either); so we typically do not answer the phone if we are helping a customer and someone else calls. We do have voicemail and do check it threwout the day; so if you call and get our voicemail system PLEASE leave a message and we’ll get back to you ASAP. Email is typically the best option as far a contacting us goes as you’ll typically get a much faster response. This time of the year is very busy for us; not only do we spend a lot of time in the office, we also do wheel our own rigs several weekends a month as well as travel and do several Jeep shows etc. So if you call and get no answer (especially on the weekends) chances are we may not be in the office. Shoot us and email and we’ll get your questions answered ASAP. If you don't hear from us in 24-36hrs shoot us a PM on here; we usually try to check this forum every couple of days. In the above instance I do believe we responded to your email as fast as we could explaining in that email on Friday that we had some server issues and were unable to access your order and to forward your info onto us and we’d get it taken care of ASAP. I also do believe that you spoke to us on the phone and we at that time told you we were unable to access our systems and give you any further details. So we were not ignoring you by any means. Does any of this make it right and offer a good excuse why it’s been a week and a half and you still haven’t received your order? ABSOLUTLY NOT! Unfortunately sometimes things are out of our control and this was one of those things. Trust us, we were just as upset about our website being down and not being able to offer good service to our customers as our customer’s are. I think our track record should speak for itself and as shown here we have many happy customers. We do apologize that this happened and for that and your trouble we’ve credited your account on our website for a few bucks off your next order as a good-will. I will also take this time to state that the majority of vendors do take several days to process orders (typically 2-3) and standard ground shipping times are 3-7 days. So many orders will show up in 5-10 days; maybe a few days longer. Feel lucky if they do show up faster. Also if you need your parts faster please call us and we’ll see what we can do to speed things up and expedite the shipping to you. And lastly…. PLEASE do not make your life more difficult by scheduling your installation date until ALL of the parts and pieces show up on your doorstep. We ask you this as a friend and valued customer, either the shipper, the vendor, or some other person involved will make an error and throw your plan into a tailspin. We get at least one call/email a week from someone who got impatient and started doing an install, only to find out that they were missing something, or that a vendor was backordered, or the shipper lost the box, or something that throws off their schedule and their daily driver is now torn apart in the driveway or garage, awaiting a part that's not to arrive for another few days. Don't be that guy! PLEASE don't put yourself into this situation as it’s not good for anyone.

In our opinion a SYE isn't needed until you get to at LEAST 5+" on the MJ's. If you want to run one than by all means do so as they are a great upgrade. With the longer wheelbase and the longer rear driveshaft a MJ in the fact of SYE's are not needed as soon (lift height) as the XJ's are. We don't recommend one on our 4.5" lift, but do with our 6.5" lift. That being said our own MJ with 6.5" lift thats a trail beast does not have a SYE on it yet. We've yet to drop the shaft on the trail. Like I said prior, if you want to run one by all means do; but they really are not needed until 5+". This however is all dependable on what tranny/motor/tc combo you have and if your MJ is 2wd or 4wd as there were several length driveshafts made from the factory for the MJ's. A lift thats properly designed and addresses everything needed for a certain lift height (for instance a 6.5" lift that also includes a new steering setup) will keep the drivability issue at hand. We have customers who run our 6.5" longarm kit with 35's and drive their MJ's daily. As far as tire size vs. lift goes this is what we recommend without trimming on our lifts. 2" Budget Boost - Upto 31" Tire 3" Lift - Upto 31-32" Tire 4.5" LIft - Upto 33" Tire 6.5" Lift - Upto 35" Tire Now these can be altered by trimming the fenders.

10lb Co2 tank question...
Motion Offroad replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nitrogen expands 7 times as it leaves the storage bottle. CO2 expands 40 times. So in a tank the same size C02 will last much much longer than Nitrogen does. 1 full tank of C02 is equivalent to 3 full tanks of Nitrogen (same size tanks). Not to mention it costs less too. And it's stored at lower pressure (safer). Just to clarify; Nitrogen and C02 is NOT the same thing. -
10lb Co2 tank question...
Motion Offroad replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not true. CO2 vapor is inert (non-toxic, non-corrosive). CO2 vapor is perfectly safe for your tires and wheels. CO2 undergoes a phase change from liquid to gas once it exits the regulator. -
10lb Co2 tank question...
Motion Offroad replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I run the Motion C02 tank and I must say it's VERY nice to have a portable system. I use it in the MJ if where wheeling that, if not it goes into it's mount in the XJ. Nice to be able to take it in whatever rig I'm wheeling that weekend. As far as a C02 tank vs. an OBA setup. Lets just run the #'s. Motion Kit - $160 OBA Kit - aprox $500 for everything (compressor, tank, hose, fitting, etc.) So for a price difference of $340. Lets just say it cost $15 to fill the C02 tank. You can fill it 22 times for the price difference of $340. So depending on how much you wheel/use your tank on a yearly basis... I have not filled mine more than 3 times a year. So we'll just say 3 times a year is average. That's 7 years. So it would take 7 years of C02 tank usage to break even for the cost of an OBA setup. Not to mention it's NOT portable. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a killer OBA setup with a huge tank and a compressor that runs at 100% duty cycle. But bang for the buck I think a C02 tank is a much better option. Thats why I went that route. Yes it does cost $$ to run it; however I'd rather save now and have saved my money in the long run over 7 years. :D -

Lets talk long arms
Motion Offroad replied to bryans87MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not necessarily. It depends on what holes the factory used to mount your crossmember. Best option is to give us a call and we'll tell you where to measure and if it will work on not. If they don't' work; we've had customer's move their factory crossmembers back to the rear holes and simply make a extended mount to hold the tranny mount (about 3" long) out of flat bar stock without issues. It's really quite easy to do. Like I said, give us a call and have your Jeep and a tape measure ready and we'll walk you threw where to measure. -
Lets talk long arms
Motion Offroad replied to bryans87MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
We've sold several sets of the RK longarms to the MJ guys. We actually include them in our hybrid 6.5" lift kit. Only thing you have to watch out for it what tranny combo you have. The RK brackets are all the same as well as the length of the arms. The location of your factory tranny crossmember will determine if you can use them or not. With the AW4 your fine, it's the manuals you have to worry about. -
bump stop removal?
Motion Offroad replied to project88mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not all of them do. Some have a bolt that goes threw the bumpstop up into the snubber. -
where can you get new break lines
Motion Offroad replied to JpComancheKid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hard or Soft lines? -
Skyjacker also sells an adapter setup. They say it's for the TJ's; and we have not tried it yet on an XJ/MJ. So I unfortantly can't tell you if it does or does not work. I don't see why it wouldn't though.... A little bit cheaper option than the Novak kit. http://motionoffroad.com/catalog/index. ... cts_id=465

And the story behind it is? Whats the damage? P.S. You need a hawse fairlead on your winch. Your synthetic line will last much longer. ;)

10lb Co2 tank question...
Motion Offroad replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I should add as we've received about a half dozen emails over the last few days about the size of the tank. If you want a 15lb or 20lb tank we do have those available as well for an additional cost. We just like the 10lb tanks as they are smaller and compact. However if your wanting a larger take we can put together a custom system for you. Just call or email and we'll build you a custom setup. -
Fantastic Customer Service!! Motion Off Road.
Motion Offroad replied to mknherhappy's topic in The Pub
Guess we over estimated on the shipping times; nothing like having parts show up faster than expected. Told them you where in a hurry to get your rig put together for a trail run and you needed the parts ASAP. Guess they actually listened for once.. :brows: -
10lb Co2 tank question...
Motion Offroad replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Where to get them filled... We get our's filled locally for $12 including tax with our 10lb tanks. I think price is going to vary by location; and where you go. We have our's filled at our local welder supply shop. Customer's have told us that welder supply shops, fire extinguisher shops, some hardware stores, and even medical supply shops will fill them. We've had customer's tell us anywhere from $10-$30 to fill them. How long does it last? I'd say it should fill up a 33" tire from 10psi to 30psi about 15 times; if not more (depends on how full the shop fills the tank). As far as the regulator's & gauges go... Our regulator's are a high pressure AND high flow rate. This is what allows you to run air tools with our system. Our regulators provide a very high and constant flow rate which is what enables it to run large air tools and inflate multiple tires at a high rate of speed. It's nice to have guages to see how much C02 you have left in your tank as well. Nothing like hitting the trails and finding out when you need your air you've not got enough left. The 2nd gauge shows you what PSI your running at which is helpful with the air tools. And the most important reason to run a regulator and not run like Pete is above (no offense Pete) is our regulator's have a safety release valve. CO2 tanks are at a VERY high pressure and there is always a possibility of tank pressure relief due to extreme temperature changes. A high pressure tank can easily become a projectile if it go's off. With a pressure relief valve the valve will pop to releave the pressure and no damage is done. I'd HIGHLY recommend not running a tank unless you have a regulator with a pressure relief valve on it. As far as the tanks go... A law recently passed that made it illegal in some states to sell painted tanks. Our's don't' come painted; so they don't scratch when you actually use them on the trail. I guess if your a mall crawler (nothing wrong with that  ) a nice shiney painted tank is for you. But why pay extra for a nice painted tank when it's going to get scratched up when your using it on the trail? Also our tanks are alumn.; not steel like most fire extinguisher's converted to C02 system. They won't rust. Also our tanks are stamped with Trequired U.S. Department of Transportation and Transport Canada Markings. Many places will NOT fill tanks without these markings. What else is needed.... A hose and an air chuck. Depending on what type of hose you decide to run a little brass adaptor may be needed and is available as your hardware store for a few bucks. We don't include hoses with our tanks as we've found that some customers don't like the coiled hoses and prefer to run a shorter non-coiled hose. Figured it is easier for us to just let the customer decide what they want and cut the price down even more. What's the difference... Really the only other thing I can say is the "big name" brands are just that; making more money on them than we are. Our goal's always been to bring a quality product to the market for as cheap as we can. Our customer's who have purchased them love them and have great reviews on them. So we'll continue selling them for cheap. 8) I guess we don't' spend the 10's of 1000's of dollars in advertising them that the "big names" do; thus we don't have to charge as much. :brows: Why a C02 Tank over an OBA setup... Just about every OBA setup is just that, on board. How many times have you been on the trail and someone else needs air? What if your 6+ rigs behind them. It's not fun running hose long distances (and most of the time you don't' carry a long length of hose). It's nice to be able to have MOBILE air with you. I can't tell you how many times we've used our C02 tank on the trail helping someone else in need. Take it out of our Jeep, carry it to them, and let them use it. It's just nice having 100% mobile air. Plus they take up a lot less room than an OBA setup. If you have any other questions about them please feel free to email, call, or PM us.
