  1. I have run rusty's coils from the start, and they held up well considering a heavy @$$ winch and bumper, and being over flexed.
  2. Back in 99 I had a Rigid Sportster with an 18 over girder on it. I dumped it 3 days after putting it on the road. At the Time I had an AllState stated value policy. Well as any of you know the bike is kinda cool cause it was a Chopper, and it was an HD. Well the insurance company tried to get away with paying just 2200 for the bike and totalling it. I refused that offer and proceeded to get them 3 estimates from a custom shop and 2 dealerships to fix it. The cheapest estimate was 4200. Then the insurance company upped their offer to 3200, I looked at the adjuster and said.... Hell no Just fix my f---ing bike. They proceeded to tell me he would get back to me.... a week later the check came minus my 500 dollar deductable, and I kept the money... and sold the bike torn apart in boxes for another 2000, I think I made out all right in the big scheme of things
  3. You really need to wiegh your options... is the cost of increased premiums worth what the vehicle is. The most an insurance company will pay is blue book value for your rig, unless you have an agreed value policy. Then at 80% they can total it, and offer you a settlement. Of course this stuff can be argued, if "significant"modifications have been performed, but then you have to prove that they did not cause the accident
  4. I don't know where you live, but a year ago I had a windshield replaced on my rig, and it was 175 out the door not using my insurance

Where I live they can pull you over for your rig being over hieght or too low, exhaust too loud, or anything like that. The key is to drive the speed limit, and make sure you signal. don't drive your rig around if you know you have a burnt out bulb, or some other reason for them to justify pulling you. Biggest one... having mud falling off or on your rig as you drive down the road
  6. By the looks of it I am going to say the frame is bent. Unless you got the skills to fix it, or the money to pay to have it straightened... I would send it on its way
  7. I have my exhaust about the same off the floor bopeard on Pong, and it works ok for poor mans heat :D I don't have carpet so I don't know about it starting tto smoke. Do like I did for an exhaust and run it underneath, using a glasspack and a turn down. Cheap and easy to fix or remove
  8. Flat black just looks bad @$$ on a MJ :brows: Tan looks ok as well :brows: as does any flat primer color that comes in a rattle can or can be bought cheaply and sprayed well. Leave out primer gray.

You get pulled over a lot. It might be something about the way you are driving, or what you are driving. :brows: I also agree with what they said about the motor officers
  10. This is what I meant by sitting even with the sides of the bed. I made mine with the reciever below the bumper... cause at the time I did use it to tote a small 5x8 trailer behind, and the angles would have been crazy :brows:
  11. This is Pong on 31's and a 2" BB
  12. I had an oil leak on my junk, that mimicked, a real seal/ valve cover gasket, and it ended up being a distributor gasket
  13. Since it sounds like your tool selection is limited, and money is always a factor.... go with a sawzall, and plenty (10 ) or more blades and have at it. Much easier to cut off then buy what you need to make it work when you get home :brows:
  14. Here is a pic in the snow after we made it a truggy (Crozet) Back when my junk was street legal At PAP going up lower Wampum 2005 annual run at Oak Ridge estates ( Same place they are holding camp jeep this year) I know I got more... but that should give you all an idea
  15. Normally debt consillidation loans are hard to get with damaged credit, unless you own a house, and then they rape you on the intrest rates. Which short term may seem like you are paying less, but long term your credit is still damaged for 7yrs, sometimes 10. I persoanlly went through a real messy divorce 13 yrs ago... basically I got stuck with all the bills, ETS'd from the military, and moved back stateside all within 6 Months. My credit got so screwed.. the bank wouldn't let me borrow a glass of water  After I negotiated with the creditors, and they rdeuced the intrest rate, and removed the late fees and over the limit fees, I was able to pay back roughly 10K on 24 K worth of debt. My credit still isnt perfect, but after paying off the debt , and paying my bills on time for the last 8 yrs, I can pretty much just go sign for whatever I want. The only advice I would give anyone is use your credit wisely... and make sure that "whatchamacallit" is really worth it when you figure in intrest.
  16. I got a question for those who are interested in buying one of my bumpers  Do you alll want the bumpers to sit even with the outside of the sheetmetal... out side the lower edge, or do you want to have to cut the lower section along the bodyline?
  17. Being that you have an older 21 spline t-case you need a special adapter and clocking ring. needless to say expensive.
  18. Unless the U-bolts are badly rusted... I would try to save them so you can use them for mock up. I personally bring my CO2 tank and an impact when pulling stuff from the j-yard. Bring a set of 12 point sockets just in case you can't cut the driveshaft
  19. I prefer to use Gasket Shalack, or like some one else pointed out Gorrila Glue..... the only problem is.. if you put it on both gasket surfaces.. the gasket is a one use item :brows:
  20. Poly performance is real good about helping with spring rates as is Rock buggy supply
  21. Remove the power steering pump, disconnect the fuel rail fittings that go to the line... go to the dealer and buy the replacement o-rings for it as well. I think if you un-blt the fuel rail you can remove the heat sheild IIRC. remove the air box, and windshield washer resivior. This will give you enough room to get to the back bolts with an extension and swivel. The EGR downtube can be a PITA, but once you get it started.. you are good.
  22. At its current price it is worth it just in parts, or mor eif it has a good title and vin plate :brows:

    Ranger mods

The d30 is definately stronger then a d35 :brows: On second thought go use some toy axles or go big and do a d60 d60 out of an older ford :D
  24. I do, but I've only got maybe 500 sq ft of actual grass. takes 20 minutes to mow and trim. I suppose the biggest question is, Why did she buy you an ATV winch if you don't have an ATV? So he could use it to cinch down his 4 link :smart:
  25. Wish you luck making it... post up some pics when you are done.
