  1. Ah, ok. Just making sure you got one in there. I'd hate to see the result of the external slave setup with the internal retainer.
  2. It measures the amount of O2 in the exhaust, which allows the computer to adjust the fuel mixture. It is necessary.
  3. Renix (87-90) 4.0s have the O2 sensor in the manifold, HOs (91-92) have it in the downpipe just after the manifold. The HO header may work for you, but you'll need to drill a hole/weld on a bung somewhere for your O2 sensor.
  4. It looks nice... on the outside. No interior/engine bay pics. I'm sorry, but if you're selling a 27 year old vehicle for more than it originally cost new, you better put some more effort into it. With those hubcaps and that tacky hood ornament, I can't imagine what else has been done to that poor thing.
  5. I hope you got the bearing retainer with it.
  6. No, he's referring to a permanent, FREE lock. No stupid expensive cables that allow you to do something that's pointless. Check my sig.
  7. I don't have much experience with struts, but I do remember us needing to get an alignment when the rear struts on my mom's 95 Cutlass were replaced.
  8. One, yes, it's worth it. Two, the Dakota housing has absolutely nothing to do with the clutch slave. It is necessary to mount the AX-15 behind the 2.5 or 2.8. Dakota bell will be useless for a 4.0.
  9. The BA 10/5 was phased out IN the 1989 model year. IIRC the change was right around the new year, but a good amount of 89s still had the pukey. http://comancheclub.com/topic/11104-how-to-tell-whether-you-have-an-ax-15-or-a-ba105-5spd-trans/
  10. Definitely the preferable choice, but when you consider that locking the CAD is essentially free and doesn't have the hassle of dealing with popping a unit bearing, dealing with that giant nut on the shaft, installing a new seal, and finding the one piece shaft, just locking it is going to be the way most people will go. You still got rid of the stupid thing.
  11. Best RPG I have ever played. I still enjoy it to this day. (My actual SNES copy went missing years ago, but I have it on the Wii)
  12. Really the only reasons for not deleting the CAD and buying that overpriced cable is if you have a spool in the front, or you have a real need for a 2wd low range. If neither of those apply, lock the thing and forget it's there.
  13. I could have sworn I used an E10 on those bastards. :dunno:
  14. I noticed in the article that some high-up suit wants to just "scrap them all!". I bet there's hundreds of thousands of good parts for newer cars that people could use instead of paying for new parts. It would have to be worth it in the long run. Not to mention the older/rare stuff that would be lost.
  15. They're E10s. Once you get them out, toss them. Either replace them with a standard (IIRC) 3/8 x 16 hex bolt, or take the Pete method, and use studs to help with trans alignment.
  16. On the upper right of your screen, click on your name next to the sign out button. Go to My Settings, and scroll down to the bottom. You can enter your location there. You can also edit your signature and fill in your truck information, which will help us answer future tech questions. Finding an XJ with everything you want that's a Renix (87-90) is definitely going to be your ideal situation. If you keep it a 5 speed, it's fairly easy to piece a 4wd conversion together. The auto conversion is going to be the most hassle. You won't need to change your rear axle if you keep it a 5 speed.
  17. Definitely an AX-15.
  18. You changed the filter without changing the oil?

I have no recollection of this. Then again, I often see posts in necroed threads that I don't remember making..

  22. Get any MJ you want, Renix is going to be easier to find. Gut the MJ, and move literally everything from the XJ over. The rear lift in the XJ won't do you any good, and you'll more than likely need a new rear driveshaft.

    That is definitely a photoshop.
  24. Having a fill neck has nothing to do with aftermarket. Only 87-90 4.0s won't have one.
