  1. Clean your IAC. That's probably either not sealing properly or sticking open. Your best bet would be to take the throttle body off, take the IAC off the TB(leave the TPS on or you'll have to re-adjust it), and spray the hell out of everything with throttle body cleaner.
  2. Couldn't remember if there was or not. Points?
  3. Whatever happened to DHL? I used them a few times and was pretty impressed.
  4. O2 sensor would be the first thing I'd check.
  5. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11077
  6. Generally, no. The only XJ pump I've seen that would go in an MJ sending unit was one out of the optional 22 gallon XJ tank.
  7. I'm guessing the exhaust wasn't set in and the intake was bent on the same cylinder.
  8. Operating temp is between 200 and 210, yes.
  9. Remove the TB spacer. They don't do anything anyway.
  10. It's a Wisconsin thing.... you wouldn't understand. :rotf:
  11. That thing is rough. I would see if you could find another and swap everything that's decent over. Suspension's junk, rear axle looks bent, cab is too much work to make legal. I think that's your best option. The bed looks savable though. Oh, and What the HELL is on the valve cover bolts? BJA814: No it's definitely not. You can see in one of the pics the front is definitely not a D30.
  12. I've never actually bought a new battery, but the Interstate in my 2.5 was used and unknown condition when I threw it in my first XJ almost 6 years ago, and I've never seen any problems with it. Nothing against Optima, I've heard really good things, but if I were to buy a new one I'd probably go with an Interstate. :dunno:
  13. What case is it? I can't imagine what could have broken in the rear axle to cause that without making a ton of noise.
  14. I've always pulled the trans and T-case together, but that's me. Best option would be to locate an external AX-15. that internal crap.
  15. Those are some of the worst photoshops ever. They could have at least used a plain black shirt.
  16. Or... it drags your tires into oblivion. :teehee: Image Not Found How could you not notice that?
  17. That's a tad illegal. They need to ask your permission to use your photo like that. I think Wade(89eliminator) went through something like that. It's definitely a sue-able situation if they don't immediately remove it.
  18. That's why he said 5th. Not only would it be the easiest of any gears to tow it in, but it would keep the RPMs down and it would be the same as driving that vehicle on the highway. Yeah, towing it in 1st would blow the motor, since it'd probably be trying to spin the motor at 12000 rpm+. Still, towing in any gear is still a bad, bad plan.
  19. Ok Wade.
  20. yeah it shifts fine into all the gears. I wouldn't worry about any problems then. There is a writeup around here somewhere that allows you to hook a toggle switch up for 2nd gear when the shifter is in 1-2.
  21. ...What? Yes you will need to have your 2wd rear driveshaft cut down or have a new one made. The front shaft off the XJ will work just fine. Basically just move everything over. Since you seem to have a complete donor, you should be set with everything except the rear shaft. Just want to verify.. What year is the donor, is it the same as the MJ(motor and trans)?
  22. I would bet you broke or bent the oil filter adapter, or put a crack in the oil pan.
  23. 2.5 with a 5 speed should also have 4.10s.
