  1. It can't be those vacuum lines. They're not part of the engine's vacuum system, they operated off Transfercase vacuum. A likely cause could be a dying CPS.
  2. Depends on how much you want to lift.
  3. No it's not. The 4.0 and 2.5 are not overhead cam engines, the camshaft is inside the block. It's a pushrod-rocker system.
  4. ...what? Timing chain doesn't go anywhere near the head. You need to remove the manifolds, valve cover, and thermostat housing to get the head off.
  5. Put a new spring in. You can either use a compressor, or you may be able to disconnect the UCA, shock, and sway bar link on that side, and probably pop the axle side trackbar bolt, and you may be able to droop the axle enough to get a spring in. I'd drop the whole axle and replace both sides from a matching set, though. If you get 4.0 coils you should get about 1-1 1/2" of lift in the front.
  6. Sure you will, there's plenty of Torx stuff around. I don't know anybody who's put those stupid things back in...
  7. Just get some plumbing fittings and get rid of the HCV. Mine cracked on the XJ and was leaking pretty bad, right now I just cut off the plastic part and ran a longer hose, but I'm going to get some plumbing in there. HCV is pretty useless, after all, they did eventually do away with it anyway.
  8. Yeah... those top two are torx. Don't put them back in! Take one to the hardware store and get some high grade hex head replacements, then chuck the originals.
  9. What? Reduces overall weight and rotating mass=better mileage.
  10. What do you need?? I have 4 or 5 D-35's in pieces sitting around... Rob.. if it comes to it.. 3.73 were part of the trailer package. Mine is a 94 Laredo with the trailer package. I've got 3.73 and a Trash-loc in mine. If I can get ahold of a ZJ rear that would be good, I'm making a grill/trailer out of the front engine bay of a Jeep, and I need something for an axle. If I can't find one, it's no biggie, should be able to make one.
  11. Location, location, location.. :smart:
  12. There was a recent post about the Browndog ones. A tad pricey, but you'll never have to buy them again. From what I understand, if they ever fail, they'll be replaced.
  13. I don't have any personal experience, but I've heard many people say they either don't answer or can't, because they don't keep records more than 10 years or something.
  14. Hey.. it was just a guess. :dunno:
  15. Wow, she's one of the last ones. Nice
  16. His wall mount front clip is a chrome 91 setup. A black 10 slot would have no place there... I'm betting the one on his truck is busted.
  17. What's wrong with the 10 slot you have right now?
  18. If you end up with a junk rear axle, can you throw it my way?
  19. The turn signal modual on the fusebox itself may be on its way out.
  20. A town about an hour north of me has one of those for their police force. This was a couple years ago I saw it, but the officer didn't let anyone else on the force drive it.
  21. What the hell is "rust free"?
  22. Should have a disco 3.07 HPD30 soonish...
  23. Getting another one soon, this time from a Club member :D It's an 87 2 door 4.0 4x4 5 speed. Clutch is useless, and there's some slight front end damage. We've determined it's better off put to rest than sold for a couple bucks. It'll be at least a month, but this'll be another cut-up job. Not because I want the axles this time... but because I want the engine bay for a grill.
  24. Won't a HP D30 make the Driveshaft hit stuff on a stock height ZJ?
