There should be. Make one.

Who are you again? :hmm: :rotf:

Compression Test: 1- 40 2- Couldn't get the thing to thread in for some reason, even though the plug goes right in 3- 85 4- 100 5- 70 6- 65 Working on ripping the front half of the motor apart, but decided to come in and put this up cause my balance pulled doesn't seem to have enough room to get in there.

lol, and here I thought this was a rant about people not being able to spell it. You know, like everybody on CL.

I'm at a loss with the timing. I put the mark at 0, and the rotor was pointing just past the post for one. Figuring that was the problem as I've been told it's supposed to be point directly at it, I checked the motor that came out of the truck. With the mark at 0, the rotor was pointing right about at the post for 4. :hmm: So I checked the two HO 4.0's I've got sitting around. With the marks at 0, the rotor was pointing to the exact same place as the motor that's in the truck, just past the post for 1. Neither of the HO's or the motor that came out of the truck have had the distributors, or timing covers removed since they last ran. So, being perplexed about the old motor, I though maybe, just maybe, somehow they got the dist in one cylinder off(dunno how many teeth are on the dist gear, so I didn't know if that was possible), and they moved the injector wires around to make it run. Far fetched, I know, and I don't see how it could work, but it was what popped in my head. Checked the injector plugs, they're in the right places. So I pulled the head back off the old motor, and 3 & 4 were at TDC. So, somehow, the timing mark on the balancer on the old motor is in the wrong place. I will take pics of all 4 motors tomorrow when it gets light out tomorrow. I'll check that, got out there late(was sick this morning) and really didn't have any light, and if any of you have the factory pull-out hood light, you know they like to cut out and really aren't very bright.

Don't think so... looks identical to my first Craftsman set, 263 piece set that came holder thinger with 3 or 4 drawers.

I'm not seeing a problem. :dunno:

Carmen: My 12 year old, who I've had since she was about 5 hours old Fable: My 3 year old, he's definitely the second smartest cat I've ever seen. He knows where the laser pointer dot comes from, he attacks it when it's off, seems to try to turn it on, has a separate beg for the dot, and he knows he can't catch it, but he still obsesses and freaks out over it. Buster: Not the brightest, but a goof. This is the only full grown pic I can find. This was soon after he got fixed and the incision got infected, so he got coned. Bonkers: Very, very strange cat... Dan(left) and Ding(right) who are the cats my GF had before she got me. She's got a third but I can't seem to find any pics. But they're all very friendly and sociable, nothing like most of the cats I've met who do nothing but hide. Some random pics:

It takes quite a bit of work to convert it to a 4wd trans, as you'll need the 4wd output shaft and tail housing. Not something you want to tackle if you're not familiar and comfortable with the inner workings of a manual transmission and use of a press. By the time you put all the money in it to convert, you probably could have just found a 4wd trans. As for the internal, it's really easy to convert to an external setup. P.S. Since I know you're looking for a 4wd swap, I wouldn't buy this trans.

Thanks guys :D She was only my dog for a year, but she'd quickly grown on me.

'barbie' time is never over. :brows: I remember when I was growing up, several times each winter, my dad would be out running the grill with 6-8 inches of snow on the ground and another couple forcefully on its way down.
-
Make a grill out of the front half of a Jeep ;) Plenty of space to make one half gas, other half charcoal. I think that's what I'm gonna do. That way, I can run both, and the crazies can have their food over gas.

Another concern is the O2 sensor, which is another reason you have to use an HO downpipe. Renix O2 sensor is in the manifold, HO one is in the downpipe.

Do you have a working CAD? Get a manual actuating kit for it be it cable, vacuum, or just a manual switch on the housing itself. That was you can go up and down the ramp all day in low range without worrying about anything. Just leave the CAD disengaged, and you've got 2lo.
-
I don't think his concern was the CPS itself, but that the carbed motor's flywheel wouldn't have the magnetic pickups for the CPS, and if his current flywheel would bolt in place of the non-CPS flywheel.

She will be missed. Worst of the worst though, is that this is the third animal my GF has lost this summer. First a 13 year old Rotweiler/lab mix, who she had since she was a puppy, and a 13 year old cat a few weeks later, who she'd also had since she was a kitten.

Rob had to hit 1000 somehow.. :brows:

You mean as a replacement motor? 86 XJ should be TBI. 84-85 was carbed. The 2.8 in 86 was carbed. Anywho, I don't know if the carbed 2.5 has a CPS or not. I do know, however, that your current flywheel will bolt right up.

Earlier today we had to put our dog down. Her name was Piper, she was a 7-10 year old(not entirely sure) Boston Terrier. She'd developed some sort of brain tumor, over the last month she quickly developed bad seizures, she wouldn't listen to us anymore, and would pee and poop on the carpet whenever she had to instead of asking to go out. Final decision came last night/this morning when she started biting at us, which she had never bitten at anyone before. We couldn't take the chance of her attacking the baby. Two vet-tech friends of mine agreed she couldn't have had more than a month or so left anyway. At least this way she didn't go during a seizure.

Just got home an hour ago. Won't really be able to tackle it tomorrow.. something else rather important has come up. Friday I'll jump into it, and I'm really hoping it's something stupid that I somehow overlooked. Brent... if it's not magically running by Sat, could I get you to run out with one of yours so we can sit them side by side and see what I didn't do right?

Rennix 2.5 rear plastic line (PCV?) has hole in it

Might help if we had a pic of what you're talking about. -
coolant temp sensor + wiring

Nope, it's on the block. For the 2.5 and 4.0. IIRC 4.0 mounts in front of the dist, 2.5 mounts behind. I can get pics of each when I get home.
