  1. Don't see how they could do that but it wouldn't surprise me.. Halo is made by Bungie. Bungie is owned and operated by Microsoft. Microsoft would own the world if it was up for sale.(They could certainly afford it.)
  2. If the center to center measurement for the MJ is 42 inches(I can't verify that), and you want backing plate to perch, simply measure your axle backing plate to backing plate, subtract 42", then divide by 2. You'll have your backing plate to perch center measurement.
  3. Just because it has a D44 doesn't mean it has the MT springs.
  4. He can't, the PO put an XJ axle on SOA without relocating the perches.
  5. Every thermostat gasket I've ever bought was a sticker. You were supposed to peel the one side, stick it to the housing, then bolt it on with no RTV. This sounds like a bad idea, so I've always RTV'd both sides and never had a problem. Are you sure you got all the old gasket/RTV scraped off?
  6. Physics is not an easy subject. It's not something that most people "just get". All the physics classes I took, most of it I didn't understand. Force charts were waaay over my head and probably always will be. But that doesn't understand material can't be understood. It's all about how you understand it. After reading, and reading about it, even looking at pictures, I didn't quite get how a manual transmission worked. About 30 seconds after I opened one up and move the parts around, I knew exactly how it worked. My advice is, go talk to your teachers about it. See if you can stay after school a couple days and tackle it one-on-one with them. They might have a different approach you can try. Everybody learns differently. You could tell me directions on how to drive somewhere until you're blue in the face, but it wouldn't help. I have to have a map.
  7. I was working on removing the D30 to fix my oil leak, I get the passenger tire off, start unbolting the swaybar link, and I notice that the spring is broken. It broke right where the spring is no longer actually sitting on the bucket. So that solves the mystery as to why the UCA keeps hitting the oil pan. I have a good set of springs up in WI(I'm in MO right now). However, I'd like this leak fixed before I drive the 560 miles back up there. I'm thinking I could just swap the coils, put the broken one on the driver's side, take it easy, and then put the good coil in when I get home. Thoughts?
  8. I've seen it said both ways...but Doesn't the 2.5 have the same port alignment differences between Renix and 91+ as the 4.0 does?
  9. Oh, I would definitely buy it as well. A body that clean with the plethora of extra parts, not to mention axles you could probably re-sell for $800 if you didn't want them is a little too hard to pass up if you have the cash. Still pains to look at it though.
  10. IIRC the 231 has a kickback spring to actually push the fork back into 2wd. If that's broken, I could see how that could be causing a problem. The 231 in my 2.5 wouldn't go back into 2wd right away when the tailshaft seal was leaking and it was low on fluid.

  12. I would remove the front driveshaft(just to be safe). If the front yoke will turn by hand, then you're not in 4wd. If it is, and you still can't get it out, at least it will be safe to drive.

  14. You must've never driven on 3.07s. How big are your tires? 155/65R13? Even the smallest factory tires are a dog on 3.07.
  15. Just so you know... The AX-15 and AX-5 aren't geared the same. As for take off.. 4.0 w/AX-15. 3.73 x 3.83 = 14.286 2.5 w/AX-5. 4.10 x 3.93 = 16.113 On the highway.. 4.0 w/AX-15. 3.73 x 0.79 = 2.947 2.5 w/AX-5 4.10 x 0.85 = 3.485 All 4.0s with a 5 speed came with 3.07 gearing, unless it's been swapped in or specified to be different from the factory.
  16. I don't understand why Chrysler won't release the numbers, or tell us the last production date. I really don't see how that's classified info. What are we gonna do... change them?

  19. If it'll fit an MJ, it'll fit all MJs and all XJs. That portion of the XJ/MJ was not changed.
