  1. Put the speedo from the 90 cluster into the 86 cluster.
  2. Doesn't sound like a problem to me.
  3. Can't the 86 cluster work with the 90 wiring?

    AX5 value?

You need a somewhat rare 2.5/AX-15 Dakota bellhousing, and also need some fancy shift linkage work, trans mount work, and different driveshafts. After all that cost, you might as well have bought the rebuild kit for your AX-5 and kept things easier. The AX-5 is a good enough trans for a 2.5. Most I would go for a decent one is 150, maybe a few bucks more if it comes with an external slave setup.
  5. I call a couple. Pete, I can shoot you some cash for them when the taxes get back.
  6. Why does everyone take the shifter apart to remove it? Those 4 little bolts come out easy enough, and you don't risk destroying anything.
  7. You were running a CAD axle with a 242? Baaaaad plan. Glad you got it fixed now.
  8. These videos look 10x better on my computer, quality went down significantly during upload. :dunno:
  9. The leaves do not care about SUA or SOA. There's no difference in that respect. SOA or SUA is entirely dependant on perch location on the axle. The XJ leaves will not work because they're much shorter than MJ leaves. All the front lift stuff, however, will bolt right onto your MJ.
  10. I'll upload them to YouTube when I'm on cable tonight. Didn't get a chance at my brother's with so much other crap going on.
  11. Non-CAD will not have a C-clip.
  12. I say, find a rusted out or wrecked newer one with a 4.0, and move everything over. That body is fairly clean, considering it's age.
  13. I'm by far not a D30 expert, but being that there's no C-clips, I bet that's not supposed to be that close, and the U-joint side shouldn't have moved really at all, since the unit bearing is what keeps the shaft in place. Yank the shaft, I bet you that's your problem.
  14. CAD axle? What vehicle is this on?
  15. Drain it out completely (AX-5 is nice enough to have a drain plug on the belly of the trans), and fill it with a pre-measured amount through the shifter hole. I don't remember exactly how much it is, but IIRC, a 4wd AX-5 takes about 3 1/2 quarts.
  16. Up, no questions. Even disregarding MPGs, having it down while driving with nothing in the bed looks horrendous, IMO.
  17. Actually his alt seized on his way home. :dunce:
  18. I got a $7 overhead console for the XJ, and I got seemingly perfect shape rim for the XJ as well, to replace the one that some PO apparently air-chiseled a lug nut out of. I got some video and took some pics, I'll try to get them uploaded later today when I'm a little more awake.
  19. Hey Neighbor! Are you one of the red MJs I've been seeing and/around Laurie?
  20. I usually run Quaker State 10w-30. 88 XJ's was getting cheap 20w-50 because it was hemorrhaging so bad.
  21. I'll be heading out in about 20 minutes.
  22. I flagged it. As best of CL.
