  1. Part number WHS-013 adapters from Spidertrax. The thickness of the adapter will also make the backspacing 5" which will help fit the 32" tires that are usually found on those use JK wheel sets. You may end up having to install a small 2" budget boost lift to fit them.
  2. The 7/16" bolt fits perfectly into the D30 I tossed underneath from a 1997 XJ. The 12mm bolt fit nicely into the bracket without wobbling.
  3. I love the roll pan! Five years of progress, at least it is not ten!
  4. Lets get back on topic. He said CAMshaft, not CRANKshaft. MOPAR sells several performance camshafts for various applications. The P4529229AC has slightly more lift than stock and pushes the top end just slightly. Note, older revision part numbers in the scan. Just substitute AC for AB.
  5. Iron Rock Offroad Double Shear Track Bar - Strong, comes with the drop bracket, solid steel, and the cheapest at $190. I just installed this a few nights ago and I am impressed with the quality of the product for it being the one of the cheapest track bars available. http://ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IROR&Product_Code=IR-STBCK&Category_Code=PFX
  6. So, I have been working on a few tasks and thinking about the final looks of the Jeep. I really like the bullet hole style rims. I have considered ditching the JK rims with street tires I picked up and getting this set instead. http://www.quadratec.com/products/92609_220X_P5_PG.htm
  7. Hornbrod, we should just hook up and we could talk about stroking our engines all day long! I am a horrible person.
  8. 33 minutes to reposted, the owner is a poster here! http://comancheclub.com/topic/37138-pair-nos-mint-jeep-mj-comanche-tail-lamps/
  9. Ban filter removed! Looks like someone banned all of Michigan Tech back on April 21 2009 05:27 PM.
  10. The drag link and track bar need to be parallel with each other when installed other wise they move in different arcs with suspension movement causing bump steer and possibly steering wobble.
  11. Jahlborn, when are on that network go to http://ipchicken.com/. Copy and paste that IP address here. Then I can check our ban filters to see where the problem is occurring.
  12. Correct, the flares are a bit longer. You can get away with the cut out/pocket flares since the opening on the rear is essentially what the rear opening on a XJ would be cut open to match.
  13. That would be the correct model number.
  14. Those sound like rear coil springs for a ZJ.
  15. 1980 was big for red and blue interiors on Jeeps. Black interiors were not as popular and thus were a less ordered factory option. Now black interiors are popular and with the rarity of them in a Comanche makes them that much more desirable.
  16. If you drop the pitman arm down you also have to drop the track bar down to keep the geometry correct or you will experience steering issues.

    Interesting Find

I did not think that was a pipe at all and was something much more sexual.
  18. That would just be a difference in harmonic balancers. I can find the timing marks on my 2004 LJ fairly easily without loosening the belt. Looks just like my aftermarket Dorman oil pan.
  19. If you can do the turbo for cheap then go for it. The electronics for ignition and fuel control get expensive.
  20. What vehicles? In a Wrangler, the NP231 is clocked to hang higher up. In a XJ/MJ, the NP231 and NP242 are rotated lower to clear the floor pan. If you were referencing the same vehicle type then something is installed incorrectly.
  21. Soooo... I had to take the distributor out to prime the oil pump. I thought I put it back in correctly per my markings, but I got the gear one notch off which messed up the timing enough. I rotated the engine to what I thought was TDC, realigned the distributor, and that ended up putting it in 180* off.
  22. The NP242 is the exactly same strength as the NP231 when they are both in Part-Time 4WD.* The NP242 is only weaker in Full-Time 4WD drive mode. Also, the ground clearance is the same. *Disclaimer: Lots of sources are conflicting on this subject. I just would not recommend using a NP242 in a Comanche due to their payload capacity ability to destroy one while in Full-Time 4WD.

    Jeep

Shifting? They are expanding in the USA and reopening factories in China. Previous Chinese Jeeps were made through a partnership and now that Chrysler has split from Daimler no one is making them over there anymore.
  24. Just mark it when you take it out. The distributor body can only be installed one way and technically provides no adjustment. The rotor turns clockwise about the distance between two poles when pulling it out. I installed my distributor 180* off when trying to start the stroker for the first time. Whirr whirr whirr whirr KABOOM
  25. Yep, hard draining an old battery nearly always kills them. I have done the 30mph drive in first gear to keep enough power generated from the alternator to get home.
