  1. The rubber on the harmonic balancer I installed looks that bad, but it is solid. Yikes...
  2. Dana 35 from 1987 Comanche - 220,000 miles - I believe it is 3.55 gearing, but I have not verified it. $50 pick up only. However, if you happen to work in the down town Huntsville area I can transfer it to your vehicle during a work day.
  3. They will be also a lot easier for the Comanche's 4.0L to turn and get going.
  4. Pull the timing cover to inspect the timing chain and gears.
  5. The news stations are freaking out over a little bit of snow! Send some down south. :D
  6. I would love to get out there to meet up, but I would just still to flat trails since I would not want to hurt something I just spent a year working on. :(
  7. It has a "Body Shop" advertisement on the back. The gaps on that hood are horrible.
  8. Backspacing is the measurement from the inner edge of the rim to the edge of the mounting surface. Less backspacing means the rim and tire stick out further. This is good for wider and taller tires that need extra clearance in the wheel well when turning. For rim width as long as the tire you are mounting is 1.5" wider than the rim it will work fine. Just note that 3.75" backspacing on a 10" rim will stick out 2" further than an 8" rim.
  9. They can be made to fit without cutting, but you will have to extend the bump stops to prevent the tire from contacting the edges of the fender. Even then it may still be desirable to cut the bottom front of the fenders to match the 1997+ XJ style.

    It Lives!!!

Nice! The first key turn is the best. :D
  11. Might be because it is missing roughly 800 pounds of weight to get it to ride height!
  12. My 1997 air bag without cruise control has the switch blanks and is an early build for the 1997 models.
  13. Tell them to stuff it. Complete used front clip in good condition for $300 is good. Cruise control for $150 is going to be hit or miss. For someone that has access to a junk yard those parts are easy to get and cheap. Where I used to live the only good junk yard was were they pulled everything ahead of time and charged ridiculous amounts for them. So $150 for a complete cruise control setup would be a good deal. Also, you do not need a different air bag for the cruise control setup. They are the same.
  14. Iron Rock Offroad Track Bar and all new steering linkage. Tidied up the electric fan wiring and used 3M Duralock plastic velcro to hold the relays in place. I opted for velcro so that if I ever need to get at the relays I do not need to remove the battery to unscrew them.
  15. Driveworks Drag Link DW-DS1238 - Right steering knuckle long tie rod to pitman adjusting sleeve. MOOG/Driveworks Tie Rod End for Drag Link DW-ES3096L - Pitman arm to pitman adjusting sleeve. Monroe Magnum Steering Damper SC2928 - The big shock thingy. Duralast Tie Rod Adjusting Sleeve ES2079S (For Drag Link) Duralast Tie Rod Adjusting Sleeve ES2079S (For Tie Rod) Duralast Tie Rod End DS1312 (For Tie Rod) - ZJ V8 upgrade long tie rod, from drag link to adjusting sleeve. Duralast Tie Rod End ES3096 (For Tie Rod) - ZJ V8 upgrade tie rod end from left steering knuckle to adjusting sleeve. As for ball joints, that is a mystery to me as well.
  16. 1993 to 1998 ZJ Grand Cherokee is 5x4.5. 1999 started the WJ model which changed over to 5x5.

    Back Panel

I am about 4 to 5 hours from there. Though, it would be easier to just take measurements from a stock panel in good condition and send those over.
  18. All 2007+ JK rims are 5x5.
  19. I am putting them in my plans for after the one year deadline for the project. I have about the same cost as those tires and rims left in items to get it driveable. I also realized last night I only have 28 days left to meet the 2012-03-03 dead line!
  20. All the wiring under the hood and inside the cab will need to be swapped. The HO fuel pump and fuel level sensor from the 1999 will need to be used in a custom fuel tank setup. Wiring the rear lights in is a bit like wiring a trailer light harness into the vehicle. There are more wires in the 1999 setup than in the rear MJ lights. That is just the basic overview of what will need to be done. There is also all the dash support that will need to be redone.
  21. It looks like a Lund product which I believe is still made.
  22. Yeah, a running project is a much easier sell since that falls into the bolt on finish it up territory for a weekend warrior.
  23. What is the current progress of the project? All the engine bay swapped over or as currently shown? If there still a lot of assembly required then I would say under $1,000. Not including the extra upgrade parts of course.
  24. They can be ordered in 31" or 33". The mud tire version can be ordered in 35" as well. I am looking for a 10.5" wide tire since that is much easier to fit than a 12.5" wide tire. Though with the Pro Comp 7069 rims the backspacing for the set is 3.75". That almost makes up for the estimated 3" of extra wheel well clearance needed. I showed these to my fabulous roommate and he said they would look great. I think I am going to make this happen. I just need to sell the JK set of wheels first.(That or keep them for the JK in the future.)
  25. The rim repaint looks like it came out great! I had the same problem with interior panel pieces. I ended up getting a company in the north east to ship me all the missing pieces.
