Bansheemanche
Looks great! Did you have to lift it at all for the 31's?
grimaldur
at the moment, no lift. but I do lift it 2" and I need more backspacing on the wheels. this later, why more important I must repair the tail wiring
Pete M
Are you thinking you need more backspacing because of rubbing on the lower control arms? More backspacing can cause the rubbing to shift from the arms to the flares. A better solution to rubbing on the control arms is to swap in lower control arms from a WJ. They are the same length, but have a bend in them to clear bigger tires. They just need the sleeves to be trimmed a bit. My install pics are near the bottom of this page: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1556
grimaldur
Thanx, but I know that I can swap to WJ control arm. but WJ control arm are not simple to find by us. this parts is not a problem to find I will see what I find first
mvusse
Looks great! How hard is it to find a rear bumper in Europe? Or are you planning to leave it off?
grimaldur
I have a original rear bumper, fortunately. I will use it.. when the wiring ok is
grimaldur
many days ago.. I have do a many on the MJ 1. new fuelgastank 2. renew the complete rear electrical wiring 3. remove rust with Fertan, and por15.. a XJ headliner with console, I have placed the CB in this a good fried built me a new trailer hitch then a new bumper (+97 XJ) and the XJ grill yet I need a lift, 2-3" the front lift will be 1x ZJ coils and 2" spacer, for Rear lift.. I don´t now.. (the shipping for new springs are too expensive). I think I would buy 2" shackles from XJ.. and I will see the rest later
BLHTAZ
Looking good. I like that overhead console in it and I have thought about doing that in mine.

mvusse
Quite a difference from when you just got it. Looks good! Have you ever thought about a taller lift up front (6.5" or so) and just doing a spring over axle flip on the rear? It would cost more for the parts on the front (longer or adjustable control arms and track bar), but you would not have to pay shipping on new leaf springs. And everything for the front is interchangeable with the XJ, which I assume would be available locally in Europe?
grimaldur
I have think about an SOA, but I think (today) that is too high. I have 5" on my Cherokee, and I won´t do the same. (perharps later ;) )

possum
I like the side markers that the XJs and MJs seem to have in the front fenders. I am gonna have to try and find a set. It would probably be exspensive to ship a pair overseas, wouldn't it? :hmm:

grimaldur
I look if I have a set side markers.. ;) they are by all EU-models. the MJ must be fitted to EU-norms
Pete M
A local alternative to the EU side lights are trailer running lights. I picked myself up a set at Napa. And they had fancier ones too.
