Pete M
under sudden hard braking the truck twitches to the left slightly and the right side of the front dips lower than the left. is this a symptom of bump steer due to the track bar relocation bracket that came with the lift kit? any other thoughts as to why this might be happening? Eagle_SX4
Just make sure your track bar and drag link are parallel. I tied a string to the mounting points of both to make it easier to see the angles
Pete M
oh, they are definitely not lined up like factory. the bracket drops the axle end of the bar a bit in order to also scoot it over towards the drivers side to compensate for the need of a longer track bar. I originally thought my front brakes weren't braking the same left to right, but then this popped into my head. but I don't remember anyone complaining of this before. the upper left bolt is the original hole for the track bar. watchamakalit
I ran on 3" of lift with a stock track bar and mount location with no drivability issues. I'm curious why your running the relocation bracket?

ghetdjc320
What kit is this?
MiNi Beast
Relocation kit perhaps if your trac bar hole is oblonged, otherwise Id stick to factory location with 3in lift. Double measure tac bar compare to draglink for same length. Trac bar sould only need to be about 1" longer then factory if that. I wanna say i was around 3/4" when did my 3" kit. If it’s a true 3” lift then it’s about 3/4” that the track bar moves. Adjustable track bar solves this issue as you can tune it in. I’m not sure the reason behind the drop brackets though with a 3” lift. Some adjustable lowers and stock uppers is all that’s needed with that lift height to set your caster properly. Pete M
I pulled the bracket. ran out of daylight to do a proper high speed test drive, but around the block seems to be normal again. we shall see what tomorrow brings. it's a skyjacker 3" lift with coils, lower arms, and this bracket. looks to be this one: https://www.amazon.com/Skyjacker-JC301K-Lift-Components-Suspension/dp/B000JKM87E I bought it for like 50 bucks at the junkyard, so I think I did alright. watchamakalit
Core 4x4 adjustable trackbar, and arms. Of course then your all set to go taller......
Pete M
no real change. doesn't happen every time, but from 55mph under heavy braking it still pulls left slightly. I may try swapping pads side to side to see if anything happens. pads and rotors are brand new, so there's no wear pattern yet. maybe tires too? MiNi Beast
Sure its not a sticking caliber?
89 MJ
Or if the rubber brake lines are old, could that be the issue?
JeffK
My TJ was doing this and progressively got worse. I changed out both front calipers and rubber lines and it stopped.
Pete M
all new rubber, all new brakes. I guess it could be one of the calipers. just swapped tires and pads. no change. doesn't happen every single time. but often enough.

Two things you can check are, is the break pedal firmer than normal and is one of the two front brakes much hotter than the other after driving it for a few minutes? Pete M
well, we're going to hope that some light daily driving will free it up. if not, I'll swap the calipers later. I handed the truck over to the owner today. bitter sweet, but it's not like the project is over. lol. Jeeps are never finished. (stereo and 4wd swap coming next, but not for a bit)
