Anthi4078
Hey this is what I got up to this weekend and I don’t see any other pictures anywhere so I just wanted to share mine. Didn’t do too bad other than needing to stay in 3rd for anything other than a flat or downhill. Also have to plan way ahead for braking. Overall wouldn’t recommend it unless you wanna take 2hrs to make a 45min trip and yourself when you pass a MTO truck. Basically DOT for the Americans. But in a pinch it pulled through. Salvagedcircuit
Awesome! I was thinking of using a car dolly and picking up another comanche locally then putting the transmission and transfer case in neutral and tying down the steering wheel. But this takes the cake

gogmorgo
Leaf springs are too sagged in the longbed for me to chance it but I have done it with the ZJ. Pulled it 450km in total, over two 2000m passes 80km apart with a valley dropping to 1300m between them. Its a lot of weight for a 4.0 to drag up a double-digit grade but she did it. But knowing now what I know about U-Haul’s maintenance program and how unlikely you are to get a trailer that actually has functioning brakes, I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing it again. I have a real truck for doing that now. An MJ isn’t much of a load to haul and you for sure don’t need a 1-ton to do it, but for how cheap it was to get a vehicle that’s actually rated to tow that sort of load it’s definitely not worth the risk. pizzaman09
I've towed 5k lbs with the Comanche once, it did it but it was about the limit. A few weeks ago we almost used the Comanche to tow an 86 Mercedes 560SL across PA on a Uhaul car trailer, but thought better of it and rented the Uhaul truck as well since we needed to carry some large stuff. Using the Comanche would have made the 7 hour trip into a 10 hour trip.
