512tr
I have become very unsure if I should go for this yellow/tan color. The final paint will be a combination with black and yellow/tan Raptor paint. It is still time to go for another color. Your opinion please?
75sv1
I kind of like it in the engine bay. Possibly easier to see things. I think your idea of two tone or multi colors or layers would look good. I have a Sienna (Burgundy) XJ. I did different black accents on it. Looks good to me. Recently, I had to replace a rim, as one decided to go Jeep on me and went on its own trail. It was silver. I came across a gray rim, with silver ring. Really sets off the rest of the exterior color. So, now I need one more to complete the set. I think there is a fine line , between to much and to little. Your work looks good. Want to see progress pictures.

JeepSchmidt O'Guinness
I've never been a fan of matching interior/extior color, my ocd kicks in because it's never a perfect duplication. Other then that I think your tan / black scheme should look good.
schardein
Color choice is purely subjective. The first pics make it look like a desert sand, which I think can look good on certain projects. The 3rd pic makes it look like a light yellow. Sort of like a Saxon Yellow which was an option on Jeep CJs in 79 (probably other models/years as well). Definitely not my favorite but it can look sharp with some contrasting graphics.
512tr
Thanks for all replies. I chose this color inspired by the color scheme on the 2016 Comanche concept car. In general, I find it very difficult to choose color. I finished a motorcycle project last summer and ended up leaving it unpainted, another bike I built I painted twice, the last time with expensive chameleon paint...after 14 days I couldn't stand the paint and wrapped the whole bike in satin black and carbon. ...now I'm reasonable happy with both. Smokeyyank
Looks too "peachy" to me. Think either more of a yellow to brighten it or more tan to darken it.
H3ADBANG4L1F3
I like it! That color should really pop with some black and yellow accents.
OldSch88L
Kinda like the color, I'd love some bronze or dark gold accents with it if it was my truck...
75sv1
I'd look for some darker brown accents on the exterior with also the black. Not so much black on the hood as on the Comanche Concept. I'd also think that on the interior. Black or a dark brown on either the inner or outside of the seat. Same on other interior parts. Maybe a black or dark gray carpet. So, stains aren't an issue. 512tr
Thanks for all input. I have decided to keep that color in the engine bay, the truck itself will not be painted before the spring so I have time to figure out what to do.😊
Spinnakerblue89
Your decision having been made, reminds me of the colors I once saw on the Wrangler about twelve years ago. Two beige-orange colors. I think one was Bulldozer and I forget the other.
512tr
You mentioning Bulldozer yellow....the Comanche with my yellow 4WD's😊
Spinnakerblue89
Nothing to make your truck look like it's actually got a purpose than to park it next to heavy equipment! Lol jk, like red, not sure I'd want a Comanche in bulldozer though, now that I can visualize it in your picture!

Manche757
It is nice to know that Comanches have a following in Norway. You look to be doing a great job. Is the red truck with the 'dozers the one you are working on? Is that black paint along the edge of hood?
512tr
Yes, that’s the same truck as I’m working on, and yes it's black (dark grey) paint. Older picture. It is 20 years since I bought it, it has been a very reliable and good truck, but has been neglected for years. From the pictures you can see that it was quite shabby and needed treatment and care😊. Pictures taken the day I started dismantling.

I believe I see a third set of wheels The gas tank is 2 mm 316 stainless steel, tig welded, it's approximate 64 liters (17 gallons) I've refurbished the tank and made new cross members, don't want to bolt anything to the bed. Have some vague plans to make a second bed, easy on/off…time will tell😊 You observe details 😊 I think I have 11-12 sets of Jeep rims, near all cars in Norway do have 2-wheel sets, summer, and stud tires for the winter, at least in the north where I’m living…nothing beats studs on icy roads. The wheel in the latest pictures is just temporary, it’s the 17” summer wheels for my ZJ, don’t know yet what rims I will end up with, do have some to choose from, including Jeep turbines and some 15x10 rims. Manche757
This might be getting ahead of you some, but you appear to have thought out your processes. When you re-install the rear window, will you trim it in any way? What will you use for rear wheel well flairs? Neither of those parts are available new in the States and any old ones are deteriorated.
512tr
I don’t have any rear window to reinstall 😊 Luckily the rear window has a simple form and doesn’t require any shape on the window to fit, so I plan to use a sheet of best quality Polycarbonate or equal. Just after I got the truck, I replaced the old cracked window with simple Plexi glass, and it served well all these years…..then, I just cut it with a jigsaw, glued it and put some screws. What I haven’t solved yet is how to make a sliding window, any ideas? Have been looking on the internet in the boating and caravan world to find ideas for making a sliding window and trim around the window. Window trim alternative Fender Flares… 18 years ago a bought Bushwacker flares, they are still in the original box😊
