Stupid question time.   Are the front doors of an XJ same as MJ? Looking to swap inner panels.

4 door models have the same doors as the MJ.

Need to swap door latches in the chassis side also. Some modification needed.

yes being up to 97. so 87-96 being 4 dr as stated.

my brain is saying the door latch change started in 95 or 96.

I am 99.9% sure they only changed when the doors changed in 1997. 95 and 96 changes were only the cross brace in the floorboard, an additional crash beam in the older style doors, drivers air bags, different seats, and in 1996 OBD2-ish

Agreed. Door panels are interchangeable in MJs and four door XJs from ‘84-‘96.

It was 95 for the seats and 97 for the doors.
