rylee144
This transfer case linkage any good? The one I acquired for my 4x4 swap is beat up.
scguy
I've heard good things about it. I can't speak for it personally, but I do have the Boostwerks 231 HD linkage and it is a quality setup and cheaper. http://www.boostwerksengineering.com/231-HD-Shift-Linkage-Auto-Trans-V20_p_25.html
JustEmptyEveryPocket
I second the boostwerks option. Great product.

I have the boostwerks one as well. its essential the same thing. Now while these simplify the linkage there is one caveat. They have to be adjusted right, if they are too loose your shift lever in the truck will move but you won't actually be shifting the tcase. If its too tight it will bind. I did get stuck because of this. the linkage loosened up and the tcase popped into 2wd. Now with all that said i would still prefer these 1000x over the factory stuff. Just make sure to check your linkage when you do bolt checks on your rig.
ghetdjc320
I have that kit sitting in a box waiting to be installed. Once I realized I had to pull the console and shifter I decided to wait and pull the carpet to clean out really well at the same time
dasbulliwagen
It's a good quality setup. But, be advised, it will not fit a 4 cyl, AX4-5 setup. The transfer case linkage is too close under shifter being it's farther forward than on 4.0 models.
89eliminator
i run it on mine. miles ahead of the factory setup
ghetdjc320
Just installed my azzy linkage today. Installation took about 45mins including finding the right tools. Taking out the old linkage took the longest. I pry bar worked great to separate the linkage from the rubber bushings. You’ll need to remove the rubber bushing from the upper lever. I heated up the end of my pry bar with a propane torch and used that to just burn out that bushing. Once installed I had to adjust it a bit but it’s working great now. I must say, it provides a much more positive feel over the stock linkage. You can definitely feel it engaging in each position. I now have no problem going to 4 low
rylee144
I'm sold, I'll be getting one. My question to the manufacturer is, If I have a 231 transfer case hooked to a wrangler ax15 will the XJ linkage work? If I recall the t case I have will be clocked a bit different after install. rylee144
They have a Q&A section clocked t case won't work Off the site
rylee144
I looked into the Novak cable shifter it's pretty expensive though. Guy on facebook made his own, I took some screen shots. I'm going to try and do the same. The azzy one didnt work with the clocked t case hope I can figure out how to make it work.
MiNi Beast
The auzzy is like 75 and be worth it. My buddy runs that set up and I run the Novak cable. I rather go the auzzy as the cable was a pain to get installed and dialed in. Finally have it now and works great though. But I think as I had torn out the aw4 is possibly use the auto shift cable for the tcase shifter....

MiNi Beast
Drill a hole in the floor and connect a rod and shift it however. Custom that shiznit.
rylee144
I sent Azzy a message asking why it won't work for a clocked transfer case this is the response. Depending on how far you are twisting the case, it can be a pain or impossible to get the linkage to work in the full range of motion. That warning was more for the TJ guys when we made a TJ kit, as I havent seen so many people clock an XJ case.
MiNi Beast
Makes sense it's a leverage game. You can still create same setup just adjust the fixed pivotal points.
scaleless
I've got a TJ-clocked case going in my MJ. Guess I'll be the Guinea Pig seeing if it works! Might be a while, but I'll post the results.

WahooSteeler
I just installed one and I guess I've got some adjusting to do. It won't fully engage 4x4, xfer case is grinding whether I'm in hi or lo. I'm thinking when it hits the gate for 4hi it is just short of engaging. I used the top hole on the xfer case plate, might have to try the middle or bottom hole also. Any suggestions are appreciated from people who have this and had to fiddle with adjustments.

rylee144
There are a couple photos. Mine shifts pretty good except it needs adjustment. I can't get it into 4low. I need a good trail to give it a test run.
MiNi Beast
You should be able to get it in 4lo while sitting. Id suggest adjustments before the trail. While clean as well. I got mine dialed in finally but did adjustments while in 4lo as if you start there it should be good.
