comanche in a movie

Was flipping through the channels tonight, and on HBO theres a movie called "the big bounce" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0315824/

and I shouted out "hey a comanche!" at the truck one of them was driving.

it looks like a later one from the early 90's but i can't tell, all the emblems and decals are gone, and they replaced the tailgate with something off of a ford?

thought i'd point it out, anyone know who owns it? owned it? or any other movies that you can spot comanches in?

ironically jeep comanches are appearing in movies made in 2004, 12 years since the last one was made...

mmm i still love that truck...

jeep on fellow comanchians! comanche.gif

Well I think there were comanchees in at least half the John Wayne movies.....oh wait, not THOSE comanchees

Those Comanches weren't Comanches, anyway.

I used to spend time in Arizona, where the Navajo reservation is located. Many of John Wayne's early oaters were filmed in and around Monument Valley, which is mostly in northern Arizona. The "Comanches" were played by Navajos. At least they were really Native Americans, but it was amusing to hear "Comanches" speaking Navajo ... which is a totally unrelated linguistic group.

another jeep i found, if yall want to see what my jeep looked like nearly new (except for the lack of camper window, and gold striping) theres a blue comanche in the movie 'absolute power' in the outdoor cafe scene in the backround you see it twice. looks like my jeep new! :D at least new for 96, anyway its cool to see a blue jeep similar to mine.

Although its not in a movie...it is on TV!!

on the SIFI channel, in one of there new adds for the channel. Some woman is trying to cross the road. But cars and trucks are racing by at break neck speeds. The light changes and presto all vehicles are stopped by here elevating them into the air. Lo and behold it looks just like a MJ Tow Truck front and center!!

Check it out!!

Sorry didn't want to start a new thread. On family guy episode 29 original air date 07/25/00(thank you DVR) at the very end as the credits roll there is a scene that is real life, with stewie(animated) with his thumb out and a black shortbed comanche rolls through with no tailgate. Had the laptop in front of me and had to post it up.

Yes I am, and you made me rewind it back and replay it several times getting as close to the TV as possible  . Stewie walks out, watches a compact drive by. Turns and takes a few more steps then turns around than the comanche rolls on through. No tailgate. Probably easier than trying to blur it out :dunno:

Oh, and FWIW, while the girlfriend was doing her online driving school for a ticket, I heard her yell out "COMANCHE!!!"... Sure enough, there was a white MJ at the crossing vid she was watching... I have her trained on them now.

So if you do the online traffic school in IL, keep an eye out for that one...

It was an option, but I would HIGHLY suggest you take the class version in person... The online stuff is timed, and drags on... really horrid videos... and it took her a couple days... The class is over in 4 hours...

AND you actually have to pay MORE to take the class online.
