mattbuch96
Throwing around the idea of upgrading my sway bar. Has any one ever used a ZJ or WJ sway bar swap, it looks possible but I cannot find any input else where. Thanks
Smokeyyank
IIRC there was some XJ's that used a thicker sway bar. I do not think you can use a ZJ or WJ one because of mounting points. At least the WJ I imagine will be different because the geometry is entirely different. just wondering why you want to get an upgraded sway bar? JMO413
Some of the XJ's had a 28mm I believe.
gogmorgo
I've got one from a ZJ in my MJ. It's a little stiffer than the stock one. IIRC I grabbed the brackets and bushings from the ZJ and used end links off an XJ. Everything bolted right up. And to answer the "why" question, some people like myself think predictable handling is important in a daily driver. The original one is a bit of a compromise between roll resistance and flexibility, and isn't necessarily the best for trucks that don't always venture so far off the pavement, especially if they frequently carry tall loads, like a truck bed camper. 75sv1
There are write ups on the WJ front sway bar. I have been looking into this. Basically, the frame brackets need moved forward a bit.
Drahcir495
I would look for an up country xj. They have the larger sized sway bar. I put the on both jeeps.
agamble
If you're having trouble finding an Upcountry XJ you can use the sway bar from a ZJ with a V8. They came with the 28mm sway bar.
